  1. Especially if you invest with Bernie Madoff... Until the ponzi scheme crumbles...
  2. And leading the majors in record against teams >= .500: 24-11
  3. I think we ripped their heart out so far, Let's aim about 20 inches lower and go for the testicles next...
  4. Wow. Cooper was willing to help the team out by taking a current commitment and allowing them to push it into the future and over time, but the Brewers wanted a discount on top of that. So this was handled like the person making the decisions was a used car salesman.... Nice way for the team to give the finger to a player and the fans at the same time... I guess when you think your brain-dead daughter is qualified to run the team you may have a judgement issue... Naw, he'll just make it up by extending Molitor... Bud Selig was running the Team. Harry Dalton was GM. And people wonder why I don't like Selig.... It's hard to say what was Dalton's role in the debacle since this looks like completely a money issue, but he just dropped in my estimation for the way it was handled.
  5. I want to hit my head with a hammer until my headache goes away...
  6. I'd bet Stearns expected the addition of LBJ would be positive for the offense and not just Defense. The fact that LBJ is the worst hitter in MLB hasn't helped the offensive struggles. And I hope Stearns isn't putting together a roster based on hope. While 2020 had plenty of astericks to the year, both Hiura and Yelich have been trending much more toward 2020 was the new THEM then it wasn't. Basing an offense on the hope that 2020 was just an outlier has also contributed to the current offense. And we have developed at least 1 bat, but trading them away for a pretty meh return is not what the offense needed. More would be better so that when the front office slices one into the lake, we aren't hurt too bad...
  7. I thought ZKB was a new monster hybrid weed... Made sense until I read your post...
  8. So when is it safe to assume the Bucks win in game 7 didn’t trigger the end of days?
  9. Joe Harris is a strange hill to die on. Really? Other's have pointed out his age and an apt comparison to LeBron's first title, but does all of this come down to Giannis? I'm firmly in the "Get Budzinski the hell out of town" camp no matter what the outcome from Game 7. Unfortunately, if they win and move on to the conference finals, I think that almost guarantees Bud will still be around no matter what happens down the road this playoffs. Bud just isn't the solution to any problem and as we have seen for several years is clearly is THE problem.
  10. Yes, this offense is horrible. Yes, it may limit how far this team goes, but let's not let our recent losing streak bias our expectations for the team. Ups and downs happen. So far, still 6 games over 500 and only 1 game behind the Cubs even after losing 5 in-a-row. Not having Hiura, Shaw and McKinney in the line-up is great for possible future outcomes, but those players were picked by this management to have so many Plate Appearances that they bring the team's offense down to near the worst in MLB. The fact that injury and trade keeps 2 of the 3 from being inserted consistently in the lineup is more troubling than the current state of the offense. That still indicates some poor decision making by the GM/President in getting some bang for the buck and this isn't a 2020 problem, it's been a 2+ year issue. That needs to be addressed. The winning likely makes that easier, current streak not withstanding. I absolutely understand your point about winning, but let's not diminish the loyalty that a huge part of the fan base has shown over the years. The Brewers are still near the top (if not still at the top) in return from each fan as based on the fans economic expenditures. That's definitely helped by success over the 2010's and the last few years, but the Brewers fan base has been exceptionally strong in supporting an unexceptional team.
  11. I disagree that he shouldn't say anything. He's the CEO. He routinely represents the Packers during meetings with groups. He routinely writes updates to the owners that are public (because 1 of the 300,000 owners is likely to send it to a member of the press.) It's Murphy's job to be the face of the corporate Packers. It would be unreasonable to say he can't speak publicly because Aaron is throwing a fit. That being said, what he has said is the problem. He doesn't need to make a joke about Aaron being "complicated". He could simply say that the organization is working to address Rodgers concerns. Period. It's likely that Murphy is really pissed that he can't say what he wants to say and that Rodgers is free to leak everything to the media and only present his POV. But that's why Murphy get's paid the big bucks (relatively). It's his job to not let his feelings interfere with his job, which is to always put the best of the Packers over his own personal viewpoint. So if he has to eat some crap so that they can have the best outcome with Rodgers holdout then that's what he needs to do. He shouldn't stop doing his job. He can complain to his therapist about what a complicated guy Aaron Rodgers is...
  12. So if you just ignore all the bad hitters the Brewers offense is great! Good to know.
  13. Murphy can be replaced by several thousand different people. Rodgers cannot. And I didn't say they "should" fire the team president. I said if that's what it came down to, I'd choose Rodgers 100 times out of 100. The only way it comes down to that is if Lord Aaron continues his childish behavior. If the Packers wanted to even consider getting rid of Murphy, the first person with an opinion is the general counsel who would point out the $ such a decision would cost the organization when there are no clear grounds for dismissal would be huge. Sure, losing Rodgers would be bad, but the Packers don't have $50M to throw away on a wrongful termination. And the publicity for that would be significant because every single thing that went down between the two of them would be out in the open. The Packers are well run and make a profit, but writing a huge check to the former CEO just to make the HOF QB not mope is the epitome of what a stupid organization would do. Many people on this board don't remember how ****** the Packers were from SB2 until Bob Harlan was hired. I do. I have no problem losing the battle with Lord Aaron and taking a hit as long as the organization and team continues to be successful (wins the war). I'm not a big fan of Murphy because I think he was too slow in reacting to the issues with TT and with MM, but the people he has put into place from LaFleur to Gute have shown they were the right choice and are very good at what they do. And faulting someone for being too loyal is probably the weakest criticism that can be levied against someone. I'd rather have Murphy there making the decisions on who to hire for the leadership positions than another few years of the biggest prima donna this side of alpha centauri. Especially when sir pouty pants will be gone at some point anyways.
  14. Jason Kidd?
  15. Weren't there comments from mlb in spring training that they were going to crack down on pitchers using foreign substances then when the season started nothing changed until the media started to complain about the horrible offensive numbers and uptick in K rates?
  16. Get used to it. It's the Brewers WAY... We collect the worst batters in baseball and play them full-time, all-the-time. From Casey McGehee, Yuni Betancourt to Orlando Arcia and now Jackie Bradley. And the partial year wonders including Sogard can't be forgotten... Are we at 7-8 years of having the worst hitter in baseball on our team over the last 15-16 years? Maybe it's time to share the wealth with the other teams in baseball and maybe stop giving so many AB to players who shouldn't even be in baseball. Not holding my breath as I'm sure we'll find the next absolute crap hitter for 2022 (we probably already have him on our roster)...
  17. Still no adults in the room of Murphy/Rodgers. Gute looks better and better every minute, while those two, not so much...
  18. Murphy essentially put it out there that Lord Aaron has been an issue with more than just Gute. He was clearly seen as "complicated" by the previous GM. You may be right and they are just putting out some information that Rodgers has been an "issue" with the past GM too so if he doesn't show up for training camp they can move forward trading him. I wouldn't be surprised if Lord Aaron misses the first day of training camp, but is in camp after a few days. Just another way to be a dick and call the packers bluff at fining him.
  19. Eric Stokes is a perfect example of why MOST, (sorry Homer, not some) of the mock draft/player rankings are just crap. He was a 3 star coming out of HS while his teammate (don't know the name) was a 5 star. Stokes ended up blowing by his teammate in performance, learning and improvement (based on GA fans and comments from coaches). Comments from his coaches like "you tell him once and he gets IT" - i.e. very coachable/smart. So of course he'll be ranked above his teammate! Nope. Almost every mock/player ranking had his teammate ranked higher. Did they talk to his coaches? Did they look at the results? Or did they look at the HS rankings and assume that the teammate was the better CB? The Packers looked at Stokes. Gute visited GA and talked to the coaches and looked at the stats and film. Why didn't he take the teammate (was available when they picked Stokes)? A professional football scouting department and player evaluation group with logs more of resources to evaluate college players went with the guy ranked lower by the amateur/couch GMs and draft experts. Imagine that...
  20. In the 10th? OK, some day, while wearing a Brewer uniform, JBJ will break a tie game... That should give me a year and a half window for that prediction...
  21. Maybe the Brewers could have a daily home game promotion called "be Keston for a day". They randomly pick one fan in attendance to play for Hiura. I don't think we'd see any difference in production and like the make a wish foundation you would make some fans wish come true. Since the won't make my wish come true and send Hiura to Nashville, at least they can make someone else happy...
  22. Not criticizing the current play, but I was wondering if Vogelbach could score from 2nd base on a double or would he come up short passing out about 6 feet from home plate?
