  1. From the linked article: Last night the Angels GM denied the Gomez report was accurate and surgery was not a part of the discussion.
  2. I want, in Arcia, a guy that is patient at the plate. I think it's also important to note that the Brewers probably didn't expect to be this competitive when they brought up Arcia...the timeline has accelerated. If this team were muddling along chasing a .500 season or a top 10 draft choice, there would be more patience and less pressure on Arcia to hit. It doesn't take more than a games worth of plate appearances to see how abysmal his approach is. He literally will swing at ball 15 instead of take a walk. He is hitting 8th most games and while the opposing pitcher has tried to walk him, often, Arcia won't have any of that... chicks don't dig the BB... His head is so far up his butt in the box the brewers should just order him to stand at the plate and not swing and his OBP would easily jump 30 points... Baseball is a business. They sell it as entertainment to justify the exorbitant prices. Any entertainment he brings in the field ("tag, tag, tag") he more than negates at the plate. If they want to continue to subject their customers to Arcia, they should offer a 10% discount on tickets and concessions... They could pay part of my cable bill too...
  3. Cubs: 5 runs, 1 HR Brewers: 2 runs, 2 HR Good teams win by manufacturing runs, ****** teams only score when they hit HR.
  4. Not a smart decision going with Albers to face Rizzo, but again 2 freaking runs in 10 innings. Yep. This offense has been pathetic ALL year against the Cubs. Friggin impossible asking your pitchers to only give up 1 run a game to have a chance to win... My comment from earlier in the game holds - Kratz should lead a post-game discussion of why he doesn't crap his pants when he plays the Cubs...
  5. Is boone the long man in the pen now? As in "it isn't long before the other team scores when Logan pitches"...
  6. Well Pina got Arcia wood on that ball.... Unfortunately, just a little too much to be a swinging bunt...
  7. It sucked, but at least the damage was kept to a minimum. I think no runs scoring would be the minimum...
  8. Chatwood walked 56 already.... Isn't that the same number of HR given up by Chase?... how odd...
  9. Good, Corey finally figured out where the strike zone is....
  10. Maybe we can get 2 for 1 tickets to Biloxi for Santana and Arcia... Both utter crap...
  11. how about 78% of the batters pull there heads out of there ass and perform against the Cubs....
  12. I know people have really bagged on Hernan Perez this year I save all my baggin for Arcia...
  13. Maybe they should send him to Biloxi, that might change his approach
  14. Maybe after the game Kratz can explain to the rest of the team why he doesn't crap his pants when he faces the cubs...

  16. You guys really think Brad Miller can get the majority of starts at shortstop for the Brewers? I just don't see it. Defensive aspect is just too strong to ignore and while Miller would definitely bring a better bat, it's not likely that he will OPS .850+ (but possible considering the way Sogard hit last season). I'm not a big fan of defensive metrics and their incorporation into WAR, but as Peavey pointed out, even with bad defense, Miller would be more valuable than Arcia. It's hard not to be more valuable than arcia at this point because his offense is horrendous... He could cover 3b to 1B alone and still not make up enough to negate his abysmal offense... I'm not advocating starting miller over Arcia unless the Brewers decide another stint in AAA might wake up his bat, but I would be fine with some form of platoon. And if we don't dump Sogard soon, I am going to start a thread asking for predictions on which manager Sogard has compromising pictures/data and of what....
  17. Designate for Assignment (DFA) Definition When a player's contract is designated for assignment -- often abbreviated "DFA" -- that player is immediately removed from his club's 40-man roster. Within seven days of the transaction (had been 10 days under the 2012-16 Collective Bargaining Agreement), the player can either be traded or placed on irrevocable outright waivers. If the player is claimed off said waivers by another club, he is immediately added to that team's 40-man roster, at which point he can be optioned to the Minor Leagues (if he has Minor League options remaining) or assigned to his new team's 25-man roster. If the player clears waivers, he may be sent outright to the Minor Leagues or released. Players with more than three years of Major League service time or who have been previously outrighted may reject the outright assignment in favor of free agency. Miller was DFAed, but they worked a trade out with the Brewers before having to place him on irrevocable outright waivers...
  18. This isn't an isolated issue. It really depends on what offense we are getting from C and 2B. Villar is hitting well enough that it makes the C/SS black holes a little more tolerable. Arcia brings near elite defense. Pina hits way too poorly for the defense he doesn't bring. The real issue is what is our future at C? I am less inclined to promote Nottingham and let him go through his growing pains when the team is attempting to make the playoffs. The one benefit to Nottingham is that he could hit in the 8th hole and take the BB when he is pitched around (since Arcia would rather die than take a BB...) No out is better than what we get now... Kratz has hit well enough that I would be ok with bringing up Nottingham and sending Pina anywhere... So my answer to the questions is Nottingham... Arcia's ultimate replacement was just drafted and when he signs will be on the path to MKE (hopefully before Arcia becomes expensive).
  19. Boone Logan is all the regression the Brewers bullpen needs....
  20. Thanks, but nothing in the cache. Called xfinity and they reset the internet connection, and now it is back to sporadically working. Problem seems to be when I lose signal it doesn't want to reconnect (or it takes a long time to). Ain't technology wonderful! It sounds like you may have had a phone software upgrade that is causing some issues with the wifi connectivity. I've had similar issues with updates that cause connectivity issues. Routers hate devices that have issues connecting to them (anything that moves a lot in relation to the router/extender are notorious - phones, ipads, laptops, etc.). What I am going to suggest takes some advanced knowledge of working with routers. Not sure you have it. I have had issues in the past with devices having issues with reconnecting to my router that either causes an IP conflict or prevents complete connection. Often the issue can be fixed by assigning a fixed IP to the device so that when it attempts to connect it will be assigned that IP by the router. With an extender, you would need to also fix the IP when connected through the extender (extenders have a different hardware address for the device so that there isn't a conflict with the router). here are the general steps as I don't know your router: 1) check the current DHCP client list to identify your phone hardware address (also referred to as MAC address (6 pairs of number/text in the format AA:AA:AA:AA:AA:AA or with dashes.) 2) there will be a option somewhere in your router settings to either add a reservation or assign an IP to a specific client. At that point, Add your phone hardware and assign it an IP (by default routers use 192.168.1.### for the IPs where ### is within an IP address range/pool. I typically pick a number near the high end (if the upper end of the pool is 200 I will use 190.). 3)I usually also assign a fixed IP for traffic through the extender. For the extender it usually passes the hardware address to the router as XX:XX:XX:AA:AA:AA where the X are unique to the extender and the AA will match the last 3 pairs of alphanumeric from #1 above. If you specifically join the extender WIFI with your phone then look at the router DHCP client list you should see a new hardware address that has the same ending half as before with a new first half of the mac/hardware address. Assign an IP for that which is different from #2 (I usually go 5 digits away so if I use 190 for #2 I use 195 for #3). When that is complete, your phone should connect to the router or extender and be assigned a fixed IP depending on which device the phone connects to. Even when it loses signal to the router/extender when it comes back it will still assign the IP address again. If that doesn't help or hurts, just delete the reservation that you setup for the Mac addresses and it will go back to functioning as before. Good Luck
