  1. Hader didn't come out pitching poorly. Depends on if you only look at one thing. His MPH on his fastball has been 3-5MPH down tonight which isn't normal or good... And it makes that unhitable fastball very hitable.
  2. Who is a game changer? Bryce Harper? Trout, who's led his team to how many championships? how many playoffs? I don't see any game changer in baseball as it really is a series of 9 one-on-one contests and it's hard for any player to effect the other 8 contests that he's not involved with. The Brewers haven't had the Cain/Yelich type players for several years (Since Braun was good), who are near the top of their position rankings, hit for average, get on base at a decent rate and have very good plate discipline. That's pretty nice to have and I don't think Brinson turns into one of them, but he could be average and that's not bad. No regrets about the trade when it happened and none now.
  3. I'm not sure you could call them "brand new", but definitely certified pre-owned...
  4. I guess having retired from the NFL for 30+ years makes it hard to compete.... Bryce Harper is also struggling (no relation)...
  5. Just like Manny Parra until....
  6. It's easy to complain about the continuous poor AB, but imagine what this offense would be without Cain and Yelich....
  7. This signing does frost me, since the Crew did have Wei-Chung Wang on the 40-man, who could be doing as well as Logan, and was a lot younger and cheaper, to boot! Younger, but just as crappy?... PASS....
  8. That would have to be some month to have an overall OPS+ above 135... He is in a slump, but he's also been pretty clearly NOT the problem with this offense... IMHO the issues with the offense (in decreasing importance) are: 1) 3 Black holes at the bottom (C/Pina, SS, P) 2) Santana/Villar, while not black holes are horrible at the plate (High K, swing at anything, Few pitches per AB). 3) Braun regressing.
  9. So you don’t think Aguilar is in a bit of a slump? Just curious. Brewers batters: Name[space][/space][space][/space][space][/space][space][/space][space][/space][space][/space][space][/space][space][/space][space][/space][space][/space][space][/space][space][/space]OPS+ Jesus Aguilar[space][/space][space][/space][space][/space][space][/space][space][/space][space][/space]137 Christian Yelich*[space][/space][space][/space][space][/space]127 Travis Shaw*[space][/space][space][/space][space][/space][space][/space][space][/space][space][/space]124 Lorenzo Cain[space][/space][space][/space][space][/space][space][/space][space][/space][space][/space][space][/space]124 Ryan Braun[space][/space][space][/space][space][/space][space][/space][space][/space][space][/space][space][/space][space][/space][space][/space]99 Jonathan Villar#[space][/space][space][/space][space][/space][space][/space]95 Domingo Santana [space][/space][space][/space]83 Manny Pina[space][/space][space][/space][space][/space][space][/space][space][/space][space][/space][space][/space][space][/space][space][/space][space][/space]66 Orlando Arcia[space][/space][space][/space][space][/space][space][/space][space][/space][space][/space][space][/space][space][/space]36 Seems pretty silly to be questioning Aguilar's slump given even after his poor start to June he is still our best batter...
  10. Good hit Manny. Last time would have been better, but we'll take it. It would be nice if he actually did something when there were players on base, but I guess that's what he save the slow rollers to the 3B for... Santana, Arcia and Pina all need time in the minors.... Like a lot...
  11. Brewers continue to work behind in the count to guys hitting. 220 and below. Unbelievable how many times guys who can't hit are behind made better by being in hitters counts. Meanwhile the Arcia of the world are in an 0-2 hole every ab. Exactly. They wasted 4 pitches to Frankel expecting him to swing and he didn't. After 2 balls maybe he's not going to swing at low and away balls, but nope, Pina calls for 2 more... So he walks. Doesn't effect Jeffress' stats this game, but a reliever has to come in with 1 out and runners on 1st and 2nd you should be able to get out of the inning without crapping your pants...
  12. Would Drake be Drake without counsell.... Is Logan a Drake because of Counsell... It appears that Counsell creates a bullpen disaster by putting players into roles they aren't suited...
  13. How important is it for a playoff team to have a Boone Logan? Not very so investing anything in trying to make him a LOOGY is just wasted time Clouseau Counsell....
  14. We all know what the wink means. I don't. What does it mean?
  15. I get it, you can wipe away an entire season if it doesn't fit an agenda. I don't think anyone is entirely throwing out one season. When there's an outlier you have to weight it based on the other data. If one season is great and 1 is average you can't weight either, as you get 1 season standing out from the others, statistically, it should be weighted more heavily down, but since it's real data you can never just throw it out. When the outlier occurred is also part of the discussion. We are now looking at an outlier that's 4-5 years past.... That starts to negate it's value too... I don't care whether his numbers were better than Alcides Escobar in the minors because right now, in the Majors where it matters, he's hitting just like Escobar and is putting up offense that is offensive. His defense does not counter his abysmal offense and even if he was rushed by the Brewers, they still need to get value out of him because they are in the unexpected and fortunate position of contending now and not in 2 years. Stearns needs to adapt and either send him down to see if he can straighten out or put up with the SS black hole and address the black hole at C when Pina is in their because 3+ automatic outs in the lineup will continue to hamper this dysfunctional offense...
  16. Don't know if others are having issues, but for about 1-2 weeks now, I am getting errors accessing forums.brewerfan.net at least once a day if not more than once (mostly just a general error that the site is unavailable. Since tuesday I have been getting the following error and today I was unable to access the site for >10 minutes. The error was: This was coming back from ~11:40AM CST to after 11:50AM CST. What always amazed me was how brewerfan.net was always up no matter what the traffic congestion has been in the past. If others are having the same issue, you might want to check if there was an update recently that is causing an issue because I have seen a noticeable degradation in site availability recently (did not correlate to MLB Draft)...
  17. I still think Braun saved a HR. There, out of my system for the rest of the day. I think he saved a Grand Slam.... sure nobody was on base, but since we're dreaming...
  18. The good news is uh..... they only owe him 23 million per year for uh..... 4 more years. At this point they must be hoping he has a career ending injury and they can claim the insurance. Not likely to injure himself sitting on the bench...
  19. chACE Anderson is back....
  20. We're beating the Cubs and their fans are quiet... where's the love in the IGT... Maybe it's past a few posters bedtime...
  21. That is the split second the ball hit his glove with his right hand just barely grazing the fence (well LED screen). Now everyone can judge for themselves. I'm calling foul - that right arm doesn't look real... I want the lab that inspected the Zapruder film to look at this.... Until then I am not making any official statement.
  22. Jokes aside, you really don't think Braun robbed a HR last night? I'm pretty indifferent. Was a very nice play whether he robbed Contreras or not... Braun had the diving catch, which was excellent so I can understand wanting the catch at the wall to be a robbed HR... I just thought he was far enough in front of the wall and given the trajectory of the ball that if Braun wasn't there to catch it it would have hit 2-3 feet below the yellow line.
