  1. You only were 1 for 3. If TurboRickey can field C, SS, or 2B he would be our best option... Mental game today. Every game the Brewers play is a mental game as the team as a whole has a really 'mental' approach to hitting...
  2. When do we play the Royals @ MP... that should be good for a few wins... The Padres or Marlins would be good to face soon so we can "right the ship"...
  3. Really? Absolute crap defense more like it... Worst in the NL and approaching worst in MLB...
  4. See these eyes so green I can stare for a thousand years Colder than the moon It's been so long Feel my blood enraged It's just the fear of losing you Don't you know my name? You've been so long And I've been putting out the fire with gasoline See these eyes so red Red like jungle burning bright Those who feel me near Pull the blinds and change their minds It's been so long Still this pulsing night A plague I call a heartbeat Just be still with me You wouldn't believe what I've been through You've been so long Well it's been so long And I've been putting out the fire with gasoline Putting out the fire With gasoline See these tears so blue An ageless heart that can never mend These tears can never dry A judgment made can never bend See these eyes so green I can stare for a thousand years Just be still with me You wouldn't believe what I've been through You've been so long Well it's been so long And I've been putting out fire with gasoline Putting out fire with gasoline Well it's been so long (been so long) I've been putting out fire (been so long) It's been so long (been so long) Been putting out fire (been so long) It's been so long (been so long) Been putting out fire (been so long) Been so long (so long, so long) Been so long (so long, so long) Been putting out fire (been so long, so long, so long) Been putting out fire (been so long, so long, so long) Been so long Putting out fire (been so long, so long, so long) Been putting out fire (been so long, so long, so long) Been so long Been so long (so long, so long) Been so long (so long, so long)
  5. I might be dating myself, but coaches ever hit fungoes to outfielders any more? I know the days of teams taking infield before games are long gone, but if you have a team used to not wind or sun, hitting them flyballs before games would make sense. You are dating yourself JB, players today aren't interested in being complete players as long as they get 7 figure salaries even when they are crappy. Same reason you can't get any NBA players to play defense - doesn't effect their salary so who cares...
  6. This offense is flat out horrible right now... And the defense... Pitching has been phenomenal, but its amazing adding Cain and Yelich can't overcome the complete regression from the rest of the offense... We have 3-4 guys to build around for positional players (maybe 5 if we can find replacements at other spots then Arcia's anemic bat can stay - can he bunt?)...
  7. The 40 time is one of the most misused stats in Football. Looking at his film he consistently got separation from DBs and when he caught the ball he outran them. Nice Selection.
  8. So do the Packers trade back into the 3rd round or sit pat?
  9. Two excellent picks to address the biggest needs frees up 11 picks to go after BPA and depth at several positions. This draft is looking excellent for current needs and opens up the strategy for the remaining picks.
  10. That's a nice gift. There's the big CB to go with the fast/small CB... Pettine must be in heaven.
  11. Cubs beat us by a whopping 2 runs in 2 games and apparently we are the suckiest bunch of sucks that ever sucked. yeah I'm so glad MLB gives out gold stars for close losses that we can exchange for wins at the end of the year.
  12. This is a textbook 0.500 baseball team, beat up on bad teams and get kicked by good teams...
  13. You say "no kidding" but that point was sort of lost on Thompson. If you're going to use the draft for 95% of roster development you better hit on the picks. He was doing that really well until a few seasons ago. Ted Thompson became a victim of the 2010 Super Bowl win. He became a victim of the defensive success that year when it seemed no matter whom they put into a position they could perform. He came to believe he just needed to draft enough players because no matter whom you put into the role, the schemes were more important than the talent. I believe that lead him to ignore FA vets because he could just pick cheap replacements in the draft. Unfortunately, he didn't realize that it was the quality of the other talent that made it easier for the fill-ins to succeed and when the talent level started to drop due to FA departures, injuries, and retirements, the just-any-body's that he was drafting didn't add to the team talent and bam it all fell apart last year (at least the record finally reflected the drop in talent - Rodgers wasn't around to mask the deficiencies). I am encouraged by what Gute has done so far, except that we need a lot more bodies in the defensive backfield to see whom we have for long-term. Can't go another year throwing crap on the field and not expecting the players to step in it.
  14. I don't know much about slot values, but what would it take for the packers to move into the middle to end of the 3rd round given their current picks?
  15. Thank god for Jerry Jones.
  16. Funny, I always thought that you keep a starter in until he's past the point of being effective or he's reached an exceedingly high pitch count, not to make sure your bullpen gets as many innings as possible... If the brewers are going to go against the prevailing tradition they might try WINNING A ******* WORLD SERIES as a way of breaking tradition ...
  17. Eric Sogard Craig Counsell Chair of Horrible Baseball Department of Suckology University of the Deaf, Dumb & Blind
  18. Suter is exactly why you don't make decisions on a handful of games. I don't think he could be effective in the Bullpen with the crap he throws, even as a long man how could he keep the lead close with his arsenal of completely hitable pitches...
  19. Funny how other teams can find starting pitchers who can pitch into the 7th inning
  20. Not only are you making a huge assumption whoever could have been used instead was going to give up zero runs, but you are actually trying to say that pitcher was going to take a run off the board! Spend a few seconds checking the boxscore (I was watching live) and you will see that Drake gave up 6 runs all by his lonesome putting the Brewers down 9-0. After the Brewers scored 4 the next inning, they would have been up 4-3 had 1) Drake not pitched and 2) the Brewers got the typical performance from their bullpen. Lopez gave up a run in the eighth to make the hypothetical score 4-4. Does Lopez give up that run if he isn't in the game (Counsell would likely have went with his normal options to protect a lead)? Who knows, but I don't have a Drake agenda, I have a crappy player agenda - lets get rid of them. Nnow if you want to lose games that could have been won then enjoy. And, at the end of the year, when the Brewers miss the playoffs by 1 game then enjoy.
  21. With the way they are playing I would much rather have them playing these games and losing more than they win then having them make them up when they actually are a good team again...
  22. The Brewers were 1 Drake appearance away from sweeping the worst team in baseball with an offense that could be optimistically described as putrid and a defense that is offensive...
