  1. Chourio getting a start today
  2. Supposedly the Packers made it clear they wanted to move on to Rodgers which is why Favre initially retired. Then he decided he did want to play and the Packers traded him
  3. Men's basketball has had considerably more success than Hockey has recently. Everyone knew Granato was gone after this season
  4. I definitely think they'd be in over Michigan unless Michigan makes a deep big ten run but Wisconsin has a better record and more high quality wins than Michigan. Wisconsin also swept Penn St and has more high quality wins than them as well although they are closer and a win or two in the Big Ten Tourney would help them
  5. Seems like most bracketology sites have Wisconsin as part of the last 4 in as of this morning. Feels like the Ohio St game could be make or break, if they win that'll give them another Q2 win which I think would get them in, a loss though certainly might knock them out. If they can beat Ohio St & Iowa then I think they are basically a lock to get in and might even get out of the first four
  6. So they get Ohio St either way now on Wednesday thanks to Nebraska beating Iowa. Feels like they need to beat Minnesota & Ohio St at minimum
  7. Assuming none of Frelick, Wiemer, or Turang break camp with the Brewers I think it's very likely Perkins starts the year in the Big mainly as the backup CF. Maybe he gets a start or two against a lefty to allow Mitchell a break before one of the top prospects comes up. I do think his stay would be pretty short though
  8. I agree I don't think Wisconsin would be as good as Marquette has been and I wasn't trying to say that, but rather Wisconsin has played a much tougher schedule and held their own against Q1 teams. Wisconsin has played 3 more Q1 teams & 5 more Q2 teams. Imagine if they took those 8 games made them Q3 or Q4 games, we're talking likely 4ish more wins or so, so likely put them around a 20-9 record. Maryland, TCU, & Kentucky are all in the top 25 at 20-10.
  9. It's pretty wild to look at the difference between Wisconsin & Marquette with their schedules. Marquette has played 15 Q3 or Q4 teams, whereas Wisconsin has only played 6 such opponents, that's nearly 3x as many "easy" games for Marquette. Against Q1 teams they are pretty similar, Wisconsin is 6-7 whereas Marquette is 5-5. I'm really curious where Wisconsin would be if they had played Marquette's schedule. I'm not saying they'd be a top 6 team but they might be in the top 25. As for last night's loss, it didn't seem to hurt them that much, Lunardi still has them in
  10. The incentive of an XBH vs a single is quite different
  11. He is but Mitchell is also considered a much better fit in RF due to his arm so I had seen some speculation that in games they both play Frelick would play Center & Mitchell in Right.
  12. Not necessarily. It's likely Hiura or Voit platoons with Rowdy at 1b and could easily use Caritini in a round about way to platoon with Winker by allowing Contreras to DH against lefties, that would keep his bat in the lineup & allow him rest from catching
  13. What makes you think it'll be a Naquin/Toro platoon instead of Naquin/Brosseau
  14. The MKE Tailgate guys did their top tens today, I won't post their full list since you have to be a Patreon member to hear it but Ryan had Hendry Mendez as his #10 guy which I thought was pretty interesting
  15. This is a great point and actually shows the value of the Naquin signing. Injuries are inevitable over the course of a season and having someone like Naquin to take the strong side of a platoon during that stretch is much better than the alternative.
  16. Fun group of pitchers today. Burnes, Gasser, Junk, & Uribe all scheduled to take the mound
  17. I guess I just have more faith in a Naquin/Brosseau platoon for a month. It seems fine to me for a short period until Frelick is up or Taylor is healthy.
  18. Are we sure about that? A Naquin/Taylor platoon in RF seemed fairly likely and now it seems easy enough to put Brosseau in the Taylor role with Anderson flipping between 3b & RF. I feel like Naquin's projected role hasn't changed much and he's probably only on the team until Frelick comes up unless more injuries occur
  19. Burnes expected to go 2 innings today
  20. I think to start the season it's fine. If he struggles you can switch over to Frelick when the time comes. But Mitchell does give you a decent floor with stellar defense and baserunning that he at minimum shouldn't be worthless as the everyday CF for a little bit
  21. This is basically how I feel, I feel like I won't have time to get up to grab a beer or food or whatever now. But for watching TV it'll be great
  22. I think the issue is trying to balance win now & development. It's definitely best for each of them to consistently face lefties, but that also likely hurts the team this season. Having 3 LH rookies in the lineup against lefties is asking for us to struggle, but it's also what is probably best for each individual player so it'll come down to trying to balance that out
  23. Interesting to see Frelick in RF while Mitchell stays in CF. We've now seen Frelick in all 3 OF spots compared to only Mitchell in CF
  24. Absolutely but it does also need to be pointed out it's a two way street, guys have to want to extend and delay their Free Agency. With Burnes I think the Brewers got a little unlucky because of his disaster of a 2019 season, people would have flipped if they would have extended him after that. And with Adames by the time he broke out with the Brewers he was only 3 years from Free agency, Woodruff they certainly could have extended early on though but maybe he didn't want to. I am hopeful with guys like Frelick, Chourio, and a few others that maybe they'll get some extensions done
