I know when the debate around a Bucks stadium was happening one of the biggest points was the loss of the tax gained from players playing their games in Wisconsin. It was actually cheaper to pay for the stadium then to lose the tax money from the players. Does anyone know how this stacks up for the MLB? I would assume every player who plays a game in Milwaukee would have to pay taxes just like the NBA. Logically speaking I think that alone would come close to covering the cost of the stadium wouldn't it?
He played in 46 games in AAA last year, I agree he's probably ready for the Major Leagues but I think there is a very real reason to want to see him in AAA for a month regardless of service time reasons
Yea that would be my guess
It seems like maybe they could do a sort of Naquin/Brosseau platoon where Anderson flips between 3b & RF depending if it is a righty or lefty starting
People said the same thing about Fiserv Forum and that has been a stellar deal for Milwaukee & the state. The state keeps the tax revenue from the players that would have been lost if the Bucks had relocated and downtown Milwaukee is a hot spot now because of the arena
This is mostly correct, but the MKE Tailgate guys have pointed out in years past that K/BB rates in spring often carry over and can be a sign of a breakout or the opposite
Yea we aren't talking about what appears to be a fringe major leaguer with Cousins. Cousins has be great during his time in the majors, you play the options game when the 2 players are of similar quality.
Why are you thinking they'll only have 7 relievers? You have 5 locks and say there are two open spots. But most teams carry 8 now? Unless you also meant Houser as a lock and just aren't counting him?
I don't think this really has anything to do with the Brewers. I think Counsell is unsure if he wants to keep managing or if he wants to spend time with his family
Not knowing when(or if) Voit has an opt out day makes this tough to predict. But yes if Voit is added to the 40 man they can option to minors, he doesn't have enough service time to decline an option at the moment
This is it, there is no reason they can't a have a system similar to the NBA with a Salary Cap & Salary Floor where 50% of revenue goes to the players.
