  1. Right now my Final 4 is Houston Arizona UCLA & Duke. With Houston over Arizona in the Final. Really mad Houston & Texas were in the same bracket, really think both have National Title potential
  2. I think Purdue could be a really tough matchup for Marquette as I'm not sure Marquette has much of a defense against Edey, that said Purdue has a tendency to lose early in the NCAA Tourney so good chance Purdue won't even be in the elite 8 if Marquette gets there
  3. Barring an unexpected trade I don't see how Naquin misses the roster, the Brewers just don't have enough outfielders for him not to make it
  4. I've seen Oakland brought up. Could absolutely see someone like Pittsburgh, Kansas City, Detroit, honestly not sure but all it takes is 1 team
  5. I think in most cases for small markets having players locked up into their early 30s and then trading him with a year or two before FA is the best way to sustain competitiveness
  6. It is interesting how much they have played him in LF this spring, but I still think it comes down to him or Voit and I don't believe they signed Voit just to not put him on the roster. I can't see Hiura taking Brosseau's spot and they need a backup CF which seems like Owen Miller to start.
  7. It's definitely true that some fans and media got too far into the idea this team wasn't close to being a tournament team. They were a couple plays away from locking up a spot as noted. It probably says something about the quality of teams we discuss on the bubble but Wisconsin will likely be one of the first four out or close to it
  8. So Pool A finished in a 5 way tie with all 5 teams finishing 2-2, that is wild
  9. I don't think Hiura makes the opening day roster, I think he gets dealt for some random mid level prospect
  10. I really don't see it that way outside of Voit/Hiura. It's clear they are prepping Miller to be the backup CF to start the season, and I don't see any of the other hitters as question marks
  11. Ah, I forgot Winker. Thanks
  12. Sure seems like Rodgers will be a Jet, and probably only for a single season
  13. I do think the Brewers will still be able to trade Hiura, someone will gamble on him for 2 mil
  14. I go back and forth on Marquette a lot, at times they seem to struggle against some not so good teams but then nights like tonight they look like true National Title contenders. Hoping we see this version of the team in the tourney
  15. If he tears up AA & AAA this year then I agree with you and think it would be smart to lock him up next offseason. But I also think it's likely if he tears up AA & AAA this year we likely see him in September like we did with Mitchell this past year
  16. If Chourio dominates this year and reaches the Majors at the end of August then maybe it's realistic to discuss a deal with him next offseason. But it's more likely he's 2 years away from a possible extension and next year we focus on whoever of Frelick, Mitchell, Turang, or Wiemer has a good year in the bigs
  17. At this point the Opening Day hitting group seems pretty set barring any other injuries C: Contreras, Caritini 1b Rowdy, Voit 2b Urias SS Adames 3b Anderson(also RF) LF Yelich CF Mitchell RF Naquin DH: Winker Util: Brosseau & Miller -Naquin & Brosseau platoon with Anderson shifting between 3B & RF -Miller backups CF for a couple weeks to start the year -Keston is traded or DFAd, Toro goes to the minors -Frelick & Turang head to AAA for a few weeks and then inevitably replace Naquin & Miller unless other injuries pop up Pitching is tougher, specifically the end of the bullpen Rotation: Burnes, Woodruff, Peralta, Lauer, Miley Closer: Devin Set up guys: Bush & Strezlecki Middle/Long Relief: Houser, Guerra, Milner, Wilson, Payamps -last spot for me came down to Payamps & Varland but I could see us making a trade with LA to be able to keep Varland in the minors -it'll be tough to carry all 3 of Guerra, Wilson, and Payamps all season without being able to send them to the minors but I think all 3 start the season in the bigs and then see who is ineffective or if any injuries occur
  18. That's fair, I'm certainly not trying to argue he should be in the field regularly or anything but the fact he feels good enough to play the field now has to be an encouraging sign I'd think
  19. While I mostly agree with this I'd caveat that there is also a chance Carolina could win the NFC South since all 4 teams are pretty bad. I wouldn't put them as favorites or anything but I wouldn't rule it out either
  20. Curious why you aren't excited for Winker? I would think the fact he's playing the field is a great sign for his health.
  21. Seeing the performance today by Carlos Rodriguez today was very encouraging
  22. Was exciting to see Chourio get a few ABs today
  23. Another game with Hiura in left & Miller in Center.
  24. I'm assuming this is moreso just to have someone who can backup Mitchell to start the season
  25. Another oppo field HR, I wanna see him pull some of these. The oppo power has been there the last few years but he hasn't had the pull power
