  1. McKinney hit a double in his only previous career appearance against Neris.
  2. 0 would still be the bare minimum id expect. Tbh I'm pleasantly surprised they got 2 in .. Agree, they’ve done a fantastic job managing (lowering) my expectations in that situation.
  3. Urias isn’t fast (slightly below average sprint speed), but he’s much faster than Arcia who was always in the bottom 10-15% among all MLB players in sprint speed. Chart below shows their percentile rank in each 5ft increment, i.e. 0-5ft, 5-10ft, 10-15ft, etc.
  4. Wait, Claudio Vargas! Traded for twice AND signed as a free agent twice... November 25, 2006: Traded by the Arizona Diamondbacks with Greg Aquino and Johnny Estrada to the Milwaukee Brewers for Doug Davis, Dana Eveland and Dave Krynzel. July 31, 2009: Traded by the Los Angeles Dodgers to the Milwaukee Brewers for Vinny Rottino. December 14, 2009: Signed as a Free Agent with the Milwaukee Brewers. May 16, 2012: Signed as a Free Agent with the Milwaukee Brewers.
  5. Was just going to mention that one! That’s the only other instance I remember.
  6. Adrian Houser: Batter (Phillies) vs Pitching Stats Vince Velazquez: Batter (Brewers) vs Pitching Stats Statcast Game Preview for Phillies-Brewers Statcast Game Feed for Phillies-Brewers
  7. As much of a laugher as this one was from the start imagine being the Cubs and Reds who have each given up 12 runs (and counting) with some off their best pitchers on the mound today.
  8. There is no chance any team has gotten more offensive production out of their catchers this year than the Brewers. EDIT: Ok, so apparently the Diamondbacks catchers have been incredible as well.
  9. He’s back... and starting today! The Milwaukee Brewers have acquired Jacob Nottingham from the Seattle Mariners for cash.
  10. Julio Urías: Batter (Brewers) vs Pitching Stats Statcast Game Preview for Dodgers-Brewers Statcast Game Feed for Dodgers-Brewers
  11. This early season success with all of these seemingly interchangeable pieces has sort of reminded me of their past September runs. It seems like a different set of unexpected contributions occur every game.
  12. Alec Bettinger will start Sunday’s game according to Counsell.
  13. Went back and watched the end over again. Angel Hernandez bending right over top of the plate with a bat in his hand as Feliciano slides into home plate has me cracking up for some reason. It’s exactly what he’s supposed to do, it’s just sort of funny when the errantly thrown ball is bouncing against the backstop at that point.
  14. In his very first major league at-bat he draws a walk, and then his first trip around the bases ends with touching home plate in a dramatic walk-off. I love baseball.
  15. UPDATE: Now 6-0 versus the vaunted Padres and Dodgers.
