  1. After grounding into double plays the past two innings just needed a ground ball this time to get Garcia to 3B. Instead McKinney strikes out. [sigh] EDIT: And then of course the wild pitch would’ve scored Garcia if he’d been moved over to third by either McKinney or Reyes. I really hope the Brewers find a way to pull this off. I don’t think I can handle a third straight night with a comeback falling one run short.
  2. Garcia’s pretty fast, I thought he had a triple after that ball got by the right fielder.
  3. Now that Garcia is likely to be up this inning I hope they pull him for the for a double switch with the pitcher and leave Taylor to get another couple at bats tonight.
  4. These three games have been extra frustrating because it doesn’t seem like the Phillies have pitched particularly well, yet they’ve led virtually the entire time.
  5. The MLB replay system continues to lack transparency and overall be a complete joke. I’d love to see what definitive angle they had to overturn that call because it certainly wasn’t one they showed on the broadcast.
  6. I know it’s only been four games, but it feels like it’s been a week since the Brewers have had a lead after the first inning.
  7. Pablo Reyes is starting a MLB game at shortstop for the first time in his career. Prior to tonight he’s played 6 total innings at shortstop in the majors. He does have experience playing shortstop in the minors.
  8. Freddy Peralta: Batter (Phillies) vs Pitching Stats Chase Anderson: Batter (Brewers) vs Pitching Stats Statcast Game Preview for Phillies-Brewers Statcast Game Feed for Phillies-Brewers
  9. Really disappointing that given better defense tonight they would’ve walked away with a win. Also a ton of missed opportunities offensively. It’s amazing how quickly the positive vibes can dissipate after a few tough games.
  10. I’ve been hoping we’d get to see the Phillies bullpen all the fuss was about the over the past year.
  11. In 12 career plate appearances versus Eric Lauer, Andrew McCutchen is now 7-for-10 with a triple, 2 home runs, 2 walks.
  12. Congratulations on being right, I guess.
  13. Yelich is back on the IL. Counsell on Yelich: "Last night told us that he's not going to be able to do this on a daily basis. And so we need to stop and completely resolve this. ... At this point, we don't have an answer." They will spend the next few days seeking "avenues to get answers."
  14. Based on Counsell’s quotes I get the feeling it’s going to be quite awhile until we see Christian Yelich playing baseball again. Per Adam McCalvy... Counsell on Yelich: "Last night told us that he's not going to be able to do this on a daily basis. And so we need to stop and completely resolve this. ... At this point, we don't have an answer." They will spend the next few days seeking "avenues to get answers."
  15. LHP Wade Leblanc, 1B Logan Forsythe, C Christian Kelley signed to minor league contracts and assigned to Nashville.
  16. From Brewers: LHP Wade Leblanc, 1B Logan Forsythe, C Christian Kelley signed to minor league contracts and assigned to Nashville. Started a thread in the major league forum since Leblanc and Forsythe have extensive MLB track records.

  18. It’s a good time for Christian Yelich and Lorenzo Cain to be back in the lineup. Both have hit well against Aaron Nola in the past. Lorenzo Cain vs. Nola: 3-for-3 with two doubles and two walks Christian Yelich vs. Nola: 8-for-20 with two doubles, a triple, a home run, and a walk
  19. Eric Lauer: Batter (Phillies) vs Pitching Stats Aaron Nola: Batter (Brewers) vs Pitching Stats Statcast Game Preview for Phillies-Brewers Statcast Game Feed for Phillies-Brewers
  20. Wow, some serious drama now. Would be great for one of Cain or Yelich to be the hero in their first night back.
