  1. Yeah, we probably spend too much time complaining about bit pieces, but ultimately Christian Yelich is going to have a lot to do with how the offense functions going forward.
  2. It is what it is, though. Urias is going to be Brewer property for the next 5 years. We all better hope he improves. Agreed. I don’t doubt they’d take a mulligan based on the early returns, but at this point they need to focus on developing the guys they received. Urias has enough talent as a starting point for hope, but whether or not he makes developmental leaps towards becoming an above average starting infielder will determine how it’s ultimately judged.
  3. David Freitas’ season debut in an elimination playoff game is very on brand with this year’s Brewers team.
  4. You are forgetting that "reliever Houser" was a stud. That may very well be his future role. Although right now it is looking like the 2021 Brewers are going to have a stacked pen, but perhaps little starting pitching depth behind Woody, Burnes and perhaps Peralta and Lindblom. I wanted Houser to get a chance to start this year, but I’ll admit he’s likely much better suited for the bullpen going forward unless he can develop another effective pitch to throw to left handed batters.
  5. I’m sort of curious whether Woodruff has held a bat since Spring Training. I assume when the season went to the universal DH they just punted on the pitchers doing any sort of batting practice.
  6. Maybe check again... Link #1 Link #2 Lol, and neither of them got there on the fly, and only one resulted in an out. Boy if those are the highlights, I'd hate to see the blooper real You said he had a “noodle arm”. If you think those are noodle throws, than I think we can probably just drop the conversation. I guess if your barometer doesn’t actually take into account speed or distance of a throw and is solely based on whether or not an infielder skips a throw across the diamond, than it tells me everything I need to know about the evaluation.
  7. Need a post from Fatter than Joey and two live brew. Wow! Alright, this is my 'Rally from down 3 to win' post! TooLiveBrew! You’ve been missed.
  8. His play at 3B has actually been great this year. That was an off-balance throw that he rushed. No he doesn't have the arm to play the left side of the infield I’m not sure why you think you’re so right about that. There’s plenty you can say about Urias’ season not being great, but a noodle arm is about the laziest inaccuracy someone could possibly come up with.
  9. It’s nice to see Woodruff do this against a non-NL Central lineup. These hitters having trouble making contact on him has been impressive so far.
  10. That Woodruff changeup to Betts, WOW. It’s sort of amazing a guy can go from struggling as a college pitcher where he came out of the bullpen just as many times as he started, gets drafted in the 11th round, then develops into a one of the better starting pitchers in professional baseball.
  11. Luis! Nice piece of hitting. Edit: Really needed Garcia to be able to put the ball in play.
  12. It is a fun team, I’ve been able to watch quite a few of their games this year. If the Brewers lose this series to the Dodgers, I’ll be rooting for the Padres to make the World Series (assuming they get by the Cardinals).
  13. The offense has certainly stunk this year, but it’s easy to dream on what a rotation with Woodruff and Burnes could do next year.
  14. Tatis cuts the lead to 6-5 with a 3-run homer. BTW, Brewers are on ESPN 2.
  15. Counsell didn’t rule out the possibility of Braun being able to pinch hit tonight, but said he’s “very limited”. Braun having a Kirk Gibson moment at Dodger Stadium in possibly the last year of his career would certainly be a storybook moment.
  16. Avisail Garcia says he just made an adjustment in working with the hitting coaches to move his feet closer together in his stance and credits that adjustment for his three hits last night.
  17. Imagine being a 17-year old who just spent your summer taking competitive at bats alongside and off of guys 8-12 years older than you. You wrap up summer camp and head out. You return home, turn on your TV and some of the dudes you just competed against for a couple of months are now going through Dodgers hitters in the playoffs (Topa) as well as starting in a playoff elimination game (Healy and Taylor). That seems wild to me, but it’s the reality for the youngest player to be included on any team’s 60-man player pool this year, Hedbert Perez.
