  1. To this point I haven’t allowed myself to believe the Marlins were actually going got make the playoffs, but with a week and a half left in the season here we are. Marlins fun fact: They have never lost a playoff series in their franchise history (6-0 all-time in playoff series including obviously two world championships).
  2. Weird, here is the team’s graphic which also has Vogelbach listed in the cleanup spot...
  3. They won three in a row against the Cubs (in the four game series), but I believe that’s the only time they’ve won three straight.
  4. I’d love to know what goes through Gyorko’s head as Hiura sets up to throw at him on those.
  5. Barring a 7th inning comeback tonight’s game is going to be pretty critical to find a way. I know Suter is starting, but I’d be awfully tempted to start the game with your top relievers and work backwards from there. (Yes I know they would never actually do that)
  6. I try not to complain about every little move I don’t agree with, but the Jace Peterson thing is just completely perplexing to me.
  7. Jace Peterson at third base costs them to start the 5th. That was a bit predictable, unfortunately.
  8. All things considered I’ll take it. Would be great to see a quick answer from the offense.
  9. Infield in here, they are taking this runners on 2nd and 3rd no outs situation seriously with a one run lead.
  10. I thought that ball was gone off of Yelich’s bat. Just missed.
  11. Sort of surprised Peterson got a second consecutive start at 3B in place of Urias. Hopefully it’s not worth reading anything into and we’ll see Urias in the evening contest of the double header.
  12. Brandon Woodruff: Batter (Cardinals) vs Pitching Stats Adam Wainwright: Batter (Brewers) vs Pitching Stats
  13. Well I hope you like the 16-team playoff field because it’s likely here to stay according to Rob Manfred. Manfred comments/quotes below from this Washington Post article:
  14. A lot of Yelich’s metrics have still be very solid this year according to Statcast. One thing that stands out is Yelich has had 26 called strikes that were outside of the strike zone this year. That is by far the most on the Brewers (Hiura is next at 19 called strikes outside the zone). In Yelich’s case a lot of those have been early in counts where it has changed the complexion of an at bat. Getting down in the count early (not to mention on bad strike calls) puts the hitter at a significant disadvantage statistically speaking.
  15. I hope they bat around next inning so I can hear, “Daniel Vogelbach is a triple shy of the cycle”.
  16. Vogelbach came into tonight’s game with a .935 OPS since joining the Brewers and is 3-for-4 with a double, home run, and walk this evening.
  17. Normally I worry when a pitcher sits 30+ minutes in between innings, but something tells me Brett Anderson isn’t the type of pitcher that’s going to effect.
  18. I’m so glad I hit record on the DVR tonight. This will be the one I save to rewatch on a snow day this winter.
