  1. Well most importantly of all the Brewers have now moved ahead of the Pirates in the division race.
  2. He had a pair of well hit balls last Thursday in the home opener as well. His double that day missed being a home run to dead center by a foot and he hit another ball that was a flyout near the wall because Carlson was playing him deep.
  3. Nice job from Milner to bounce back from what looked like trouble that inning. After having two on base with no outs and a 3-0 count to the third batter things were looking a little bleak. Instead just another zero on the scoreboard.
  4. Yikes, Cain had no idea that wasn’t the third out of the inning. The moment he finally realized the inning wasn’t over was pretty great though.
  5. I’m just going to watch the Yelich grand slam on repeat for the next hour, let me know if I miss anything.
  6. Yelich home runs remain a thing of beauty… just so aesthetically perfect..
  7. Thought Renfroe got that one. Oh well, at least we can all take a bit of joy in the fact I have both of these starters in my 16-team fantasy league and am on the way to two quality starts.
  8. One small ray of sunshine, Statcast data through the first ten games appears to think the Brewers have significantly underperformed as compared to their expected stats based on batted ball data thus far…
  9. Their new [old?] hitting coach, Andy Haines, seems to be doing wonders for them in Pittsburgh.
  10. While I agree the offense is underwhelming, as evidenced by the past year of regular season games, I've always thought using a lone playoff series as a referendum toward any type of wholesale change is a bad idea.
  11. With all 30 teams adopting humidors (previously I think it was just five?) this year I've been curious whether that might impact home runs. While a humidor helps control the environment that ball is stored in, it can both improve or decrease how the ball performs relative to a ball not stored in a humidor (based on alternate storage methods and atmospheric conditions at each individual site). My sense is that in Milwaukee a humidor may deaden the ball a bit, but I don't know that to be fact. Historically Miller Park/AmFam Field has been considered an "offensive friendly" ballpark, but that's really been boosted by the home run outputs there (above league average every year since 2009). For the past several years it has actually played below average in terms of all other types of hits (singles, doubles, triples). There have only been three parks that have suppressed doubles more than AmFam Field since 2019 (White Sox, Mariners, Yankees). It seems as though if you significantly reduce the home runs at AmFam Field you'll likely end up with a pitcher friendly ballpark.
  12. Brewers offense after 10 games in 2021: Brewers offense after 10 games in 2022: Compared to a year ago the strike out rate is improved after 10 games, but the hitting for power has been reduced.
  13. Phew… the room for error is now gone, but at least they preserved a lead.
  14. Would’ve been tempted to get Williams out of there before DeJong came to bat. Unfortunately Devin is boarding on being more of a liability than an asset in the early going.
  15. So who had Omar Narvaez receiving the first intentional walk this season?
  16. Barring a series of major injuries there is almost no chance this is a below .500 ball club this season.
  17. I’m pretty sure the Cardinals unwritten rules only apply to their opponents actions.
  18. Wong’s bobble ends up being the difference between a 3-0 versus a 3-3 game.
  19. Normally I’d say it’s great to have the opposing starter into 50+ pitches by the 2nd inning, but I think it’s in the Brewers best interest to have Hudson out there as long as possible.
