  1. The Brewers travel to Camden Yards for the first time in nearly two decades. The Brewers last played in Baltimore on June 15th, 2003. Here’s the boxscore from that game: Brewers at Orioles - June 15, 2003 With the reported new scheduling model going into effect next season this should be the last time teams face such a long drought between visits to another team’s ballpark.
  2. NOTE: Reminder that today's game begins at 2:05 PM Central Time because it's the Orioles home opener.
  3. In lieu of something witty to add I'll offer this... winning is a lot more fun than losing. Good comeback.
  4. So what I've learned to day in terms of tools BF.com has at its disposal are a "rally Brock" @Brock Beauchamp and a Bruised Crew @BruisedCrew that should forever shield their eyes during Williams appearances.
  5. First regular season outing for Devin since...umm... well let's just say it's been awhile.
  6. Adames reaction to the replay announcement was great. What took them so long to figure out the umps should be announcing the calls, anyway.
  7. This Brewers offense is a Juggernaut [against the Cubs bullpen] Nice to see Yelich reach base all three times up today.
  8. According to Rock the Brewers are 4-for-39 this series with a man on base. That's a putrid .103 BA with runners on.
  9. Stroman entering the 5th inning at 67 pitches. Probably has 1-2 innings remaining.
  10. Sigh, very little going right for the Brewers in Chicago this weekend.
  11. If something in Rowdy's eye is clearly bothering him can't we get a trainer out there with some eyedrops before he steps in the box to face major league pitching.
  12. Well last year the Red Sox got swept by the Orioles to start the season and still went on to win 92 games. So the clear takeaway here is... OH MY GOODNESS we have to play the Orioles in Camden Yards next. ?
  13. Cubs lineup is out (now added to on opening post), hopefully today’s start goes as well for Freddy as his early April performance at Wrigley last season (5.0 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 4 BB, 8 SO). Brewers lineup also included in the top post. Willy Adames (batting 2nd) and Andrew McCutchen (batting 4th) are a combined 7-for-13 with a double and home run against Marcus Stroman for their careers.
  14. With Andrew McCutchen off to a nice start I was curious about the best all-time seasons in terms of OPS for a Brewers hitter age 35 or older. The Brewers have had 20 seasons in which a hitter age 35 or older had an OPS north of .750 (minimum 70 games played). Where do you expect McCutchen (and maybe Lorenzo Cain) to fall on this list by season’s end? Here’s the list of best OPS seasons for a Brewers hitter age 35+ (min. 70 games): Player Year G OPS PA AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI SB BB SO BA OBP SLG Don Money 1982 96 .891 313 275 40 78 14 3 16 55 0 32 38 .284 .360 .531 Paul Molitor 1992 158 .851 701 609 89 195 36 7 12 89 31 73 66 .320 .389 .461 Ryan Braun 2019 144 .849 508 459 70 131 31 2 22 75 11 34 105 .285 .343 .505 Jim Edmonds 2010 73 .843 240 217 38 62 21 0 8 20 2 21 53 .286 .350 .493 Aramis Ramirez 2013 92 .831 351 304 43 86 18 0 12 49 0 36 55 .283 .370 .461 John Vander Wal 2003 117 .818 374 327 50 84 25 1 14 45 1 46 104 .257 .350 .468 Mike Cameron 2008 120 .809 508 444 69 108 25 2 25 70 17 54 142 .243 .331 .478 Devon White 2001 126 .802 432 390 52 108 25 2 14 47 18 28 95 .277 .343 .459 Jeff Cirillo 2005 77 .800 219 185 29 52 15 0 4 23 4 23 22 .281 .373 .427 Willie Randolph 1991 124 .798 512 431 60 141 14 3 0 54 4 75 38 .327 .424 .374 Mike Cameron 2009 149 .795 628 544 78 136 32 3 24 70 7 75 156 .250 .342 .452 Ben Oglivie 1985 101 .794 394 341 40 99 17 2 10 61 0 37 51 .290 .354 .440 Jeff Cirillo 2006 112 .784 290 263 33 84 16 0 3 23 1 21 33 .319 .369 .414 Dave Parker 1990 157 .781 669 610 71 176 30 3 21 92 4 41 102 .289 .330 .451 Cecil Cooper 1985 154 .779 674 631 82 185 39 8 16 99 10 30 77 .293 .322 .456 Craig Counsell 2009 130 .766 459 404 61 115 22 8 4 39 3 42 54 .285 .358 .408 Lenny Harris 2002 122 .766 215 197 23 60 8 2 3 17 4 14 17 .305 .355 .411 Eric Young Sr. 2003 109 .764 459 404 71 105 18 1 15 31 25 48 34 .260 .344 .421 Aramis Ramirez 2014 133 .757 531 494 47 141 23 1 15 66 3 21 75 .285 .330 .427 Damian Miller 2005 114 .753 431 385 50 105 25 1 9 43 0 37 94 .273 .340 .413
  15. Wong’s defense hasn’t exactly looked stellar so far this year, hopefully just the cold affecting him or something.
  16. Today’s pitching struggles feel like a blip, but IMO not putting much of anything together offensively against Steele has actually been more frustrating.
  17. Hopefully with a 28-man active roster they don’t have to go that route by game two of the season.
  18. Certainly not a lot of positives to take away from today’s performance thus far, but I guess at least they removed the drama early.
  19. The 4th inning would be a good time for Brewers run(s).
  20. Brewers batters apparently no match against Blue Steele today.
