A few random thoughts and observations... At the start of the year if you asked me which west coast stop worried me the most between the Angels, Giants and Padres, I would have picked this one (obviously Dodgers would have topped the list). After going 1-5 in Anaheim and San Francisco this season (although they did go 2-1 in Chavez Ravine), the Brewers could really use a bit of a west coast course correction with this series. Lucchesi has been good at home (3.11 ERA), and very good against left-handed hitters this year (.501 OPS). He has thrown 100 pitches just once this year, and it is sort of curious he is pitching on short rest after throwing 95 and 90 pitches, respectively, in his past two outings. Any time the Brewers are in San Diego it reminds of Ryan Braun hitting some memorable home runs at Petco Park. Braun has played in just 25 games at Petco and has 9 home runs. The only other park where Braun has played at least 20+ games and has a better HR-to-games played ratio is Citizens Bank in Philadelphia (14 HR in 38 games).
