While I hold out a slight hope they can get to the final series of the season with an outside chance at the division title, I think the most realistic “best case scenario” is this idea of clinching the top Wild Card spot with enough games to have an extra day or two to get the bullpen pieces rested. The NL Wild Card Game is scheduled for Tuesday, October 2nd, so ideally they would have their playoff position solidified by that prior Friday or Saturday as RoCoBrewfan mentions. -
I really want the Brewers to put up a crooked number before DeSclafani gets pulled from this game.

Kratz put himself in a terrible position to have a chance at an out. I know you can’t technically block the plate, but you have to bet on the throw beating the runner there.

Disappointing end to the inning, but the silver lining may be that they have Williams pitch count up to 55 after 3 innings. They don’t seem to be able to make solid contact against this guy.

One of the issues with San Antonio seems to be political hurdles that need to be navigated before a new stadium will be built. The mayor has vocally opposed using public funding for a new stadium while it is believed the Elmore group isn’t interested in privately funding a ballpark. The mayor recently insinuated that the Elmore Group has failed to bring forward proposals for funding a stadium. Another issue is the current stadium is located in southwest San Antonio which isn’t as desirable of a location as something closer to downtown. The Double-A Missions have gone several seasons in which they had the lowest attendance in the Texas League. It seems like for San Antonio to move ahead with a successful Triple-A baseball venture they may need the Rangers more than the Rangers need them.

Thought the same thing. Offense is going to need to win it tonight. Noce to get a break on the challenge. Looked simultaneous to me If it appeared simultaneous to the replay crew than they have no choice but to go with the call on the field. I thought Marte just barely beat the throw by a small fraction of a second.

After the home runs the Reds had runners on second and third with only one out against Hamels, but Javy Baez threw Suarez out at the plate followed by a Matt Harvey strikeout.
