  1. I realize you said this tongue in cheek and this is a weird transition, but the other day I was randomly thinking about some of the former MLB players that have been alleged cocaine users. Includes guys like Doc Gooden, Paul Molitor, Steve Howe, Ron Washington, Jose Fernandez, etc. It was a pretty random thought, but I wonder if it is still an issue among players in today’s game.
  2. I completely agree with this which is why I typically never express an opinion on this topic while sitting on my couch. The one thing I will say is the Brewers-Cubs games I have gone to over the past couple of years haven’t exactly been a great fan experience. At one of the games last year, with the exception of one other couple nearby, my wife and I were the only Brewers fans within three rows in either direction. Sitting at Miller Park in the middle of arrogant Cubs fans isn’t exactly a great ballpark experience. We’ve been to a handful of Brewers-Cubs games at Wrigley, and for whatever reason those experiences have actually been better.
  3. It is hard to envision Davies and company holding the Cubs to anything less than 5+ runs today. I think they are going to need the offense to really come through to have a chance at a win.

  5. Getting a walk-off on the road would be quite interesting. Yeah, we already covered that I misspoke when it was pointed out the first time.

  7. I want you answer this question honestly while a decision is pending on whether you will continue to post on this site... What would your reaction be if another poster told you, “Think it sounds like a two year old throwing a temper tantrum? Most definitely.”
  8. Tough task on the road. Haha, oops.... but imagine how incredible that improbable feat would have been.
  9. Tough one to stomach. With expanded rosters it seems like the importance of managerial strategy is magnified even more. I don’t think Counsell is a terrible manager overall, but it’s really hard to defend any situation where Jennings is pitching to an elite hitter in a high leverage situation.
  10. Nice swing by Saladino, that extra run given up on the wild pitch really hurts unless they can string some more hits together here.
  11. What a disappointing way to start off September. They can’t afford to have late inning bullpen blowups cost them games down the stretch.
  12. Probably pulled something on that pitch that he stopped in mid delivery... Good call. Agreed That makes sense, but I really wish he wouldn’t have waived off Counsell that he was fine if that is the case.
  13. I don’t feel good about Jennings coming in here. Strange how quickly Soria lost his control.
  14. Looking at the current Wild Card contenders I think 90 wins is the mark to guarantee a playoff spot. The Brewers would have to go 14-12 in September to get to the 90 win mark. With three games against the Tigers to end the season, The Brewers will have a good shot at 90 wins even if they can manage to play just near .500 ball until the final weekend of the season.

  16. One interesting tidbit about Curtis Granderson is he has been a mentor to Corey Ray. From this Corey Ray Article last winter...

  21. Still a month away with plenty that can happen (obviously), but it’s starting to feel like a Brewers Wildcard berth may very well come down to the final series of the season versus Detroit. If that’s the case it obviously seems to be an advantage to be finishing with the Tigers, but I can’t even imagine the tailspin things will go into if losing to the Tigers at Miller Park knocks the Brewers out of the playoff picture.
