  1. Correction, it is being reported by Brad Ford that Brice Turang signed the contract in Arizona (Link).
  2. From the photos it looks like the signing took place in Milwaukee. I assume Turang will do the whole batting practice and formal announcement tomorrow.
  3. Completely agree. I have been hard on Villar at times, but that was a masterful job all around to manufacture a run.
  4. I love this paragraph and for some reason it also reminds me of a quote my favorite baseball movie... “Anyway, a good friend of mine used to say, ‘This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball. You hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains.’ Think about that for a while.”
  5. As we sit here on the Fourth of July before any significant trades have occurred here are the current Baseball Prospectus odds for each team to win the World Series: Astros — 16.1% Cubs — 13.2% Yankees — 12.1% Indians — 11.9% Dodgers — 10.5% Red Sox — 6.7% Brewers — 6.5% Diamondbacks — 6.0% Phillies — 4.5% Braves — 4.4% Nationals — 2.8% Mariners — 1.8% Giants — 1.3% Cardinals — 0.8% Rockies — 0.3% Rays — 0.2% A’s — 0.2% Blue Jays — 0.1% Twins — 0.1% Tigers — 0.1% Angels — 0.1% Rangers — 0.1% Mets — 0.1% Pirates — 0.1% Reds — 0.1% Orioles — 0.0% White Sox — 0.0% Royals — 0.0% Marlins — 0.0% Padres — 0.0%

  7. The Mariners continue to amaze me. They are now 24 games over .500 with a Run Differential of just +25. That doesn’t seem like it should be possible.
  8. Brewers are the first team in the National League to 50 wins this year and they currently have the best winning percentage in the NL. The National League Division and Wild Card race remain extremely close. Every division in the NL currently has at least three teams at .500 or better.
  9. Miller’s glove looks oversized for a middle infielder, but at times his lack of ability to handle easy balls makes it seem like he isn’t wearing any glove at all.
  10. Tweet via Eric Longenhagen... I'm either hallucinating again or Willians Astudillo, who hasn't played 2B since 2011, is going to play middle infield in a big league game today.
  11. The most recent Ken Rosenthal Article for The Athletic mentions that the Orioles want to trade Manny Machado sooner rather than later because they think the return will be greater with three months of control remaining. The article mentions the Brewers as "doing their due diligence on Machado", but also mentions that according to a source the Brewers are unlikely to meet the Orioles' asking price.
  12. At what point are the Brewers considered the official team of Facebook? It is starting to remind me of the NFL sending the Jacksonville Jaguars to London every season (something they are doing yet again this year).

  14. [sarcasm]Are they chanting “0-for” or “Orf”?[/sarcasm] Sorry, I couldn’t resist. Come on Nate get that first hit!!! Edit: Or get hit!
  15. I’m kind of surprised by the restraint to hold Miller there. Probably the right decision.
  16. If the Brewers don’t come back and win this I want Doug Eddings in the jackpot.
  17. I mean, I think he did get it. Just that's all the further it goes when he gets it It’s probably gone in Colorado Springs.
  18. Brad Miller doesn’t appear to be picking up the curve ball very well on this guy.
  19. Yeah, I have a feeling that fact is going to drive me crazy the rest of this game.
  20. When BA says “it’s when the ball enters the mitt” does he mean when it “hits” the mitt? It can’t be when it “enters the mitt”, right?
