  1. It seemed like Arcia’s at-bat was a duel between a pitcher determined to walk a batter, and a batter determined not to let the pitcher walk him.
  2. Nice to see the Brewers work their way out of a two on, no outs jam against the Cubs. Maybe things are taking a turn for the better!
  3. Good start against Chatwood. He’s mostly throwing balls, but the ones in the strike zone are getting pounded back up the middle (granted through just two hitters).
  4. Tyler Chatwood has walked more than 1/5 of the batters he has faced this season. That seems incredible for a starting pitcher.

  6. I think the question was asked earlier, but there may need to be a move tomorrow to add a bullpen arm? After pitching 5 innings tonight, that is a total of 13 innings out of the bullpen since Saturday. They could really use another fresh arm.
  7. I think Cain is legitimately hurt this time. What an ABSOLUTE DISASTER this inning has been.
  8. What a disaster of an outing from Albers. Seems like a real morale killer tonight.
  9. How did LaStella miss that one, looked like he grooved it to him.
  10. I was just about to type that I didn’t love the Albers versus Rizzo matchup... sigh.
  11. That’s funny, Jeremy Jeffress has the wrong jersey on tonight (Brewers on the front instead of Milwaukee).
  12. Nothing new, but notable that Adam McCalvy hasn’t heard much on the Turang front...
  13. That is about where I would put things in terms of the major league teams this season (edit: initially missed the minor league part of the question, so I didn’t take that into account). If I was going to predict end of season records at this point in the season I would go with something like... Cubs 99-63 Brewers 89-73 Cardinals 87-75 Pirates 77-85 Reds 61-101
  14. I don’t know why, but mistakes by Villar always seem extra frustrating. Between the typical base-running blunders and mistakes like that one this inning it doesn’t seems like there is a realistic chance he can become a first-division regular for this team.

  16. This Twitter Link includes the video footage of the LSU coach talking about Brice Turang’s chances of enrolling at LSU. I agree with those that point out the odds remain very high the Brewers sign Turang regardless of what the LSU coach is saying. Even if for some reason the Brewers don’t sign Turang after offering him at least the full slot value, they would likely end up with 3 picks in the top 40 of the 2019 MLB Draft. They would get the #22 pick next year as compensation for not signing Turang as well as whatever pick they receive based on record (likely somewhere between #18-26), and a Competitive Balance Round A draft selection (one of six teams) that will draft from somewhere around picks #35-41. So while I really, really want the Brewers to sign Turang, I also wouldn’t be devastated if they ended up with the alternative.
  17. Good post adambr2. At the height of the “free Orf” movement I noticed he was pretty much “liking” every tweet mentioning that he should be in the majors. I feel bad for him in the sense that he seemingly produced well enough over a long enough period of time to at least get a shot at the major league level. At this point it doesn’t appear overly likely his call-up will happen with the Brewers this season. I would be happy for him to get an opportunity with a different organization either later this year or next year.
  18. One notable item from the original signing of Ji-Man Choi, he chose to sign with the Brewers over the Rays. Tampa Bay offered him a major league contract with a 40-man roster spot this off-season.
