  1. Strongly agree. They don't need all of the athletic OF's to live up to their ceiling, one of Lutz, Ray, Gray, Bello will likely be stars.... Not to mention Carlos Rodriguez and Larry Ernesto. The odds would say there is likely a star or two in that overall group.
  2. From Baseball America: Brice Turang's MLB Draft Slide Might Be One Teams Regret
  3. Baseball America report on HS OF Micah Bello (ranked #121 overall)... School: Hilo (Hawaii) HS Ht: 6-0 | Wt: 165 | B-T: R-R | Commit/Drafted: St. Mary's Scouting Report: Hawaii’s top draft prospect by a wide margin, Bello held his own during the Area Code Games and stood out at the MLB Prospect Development Pipeline showcase with an opposite-field, standup triple. The 6-foot, righthanded-hitting Bello has average or better tools across the board and a long track record of hitting. He takes aggressive swings with a small leg kick, above-average bat speed and a level bat path that produces frequent hard line drives. He’s aggressive but takes good at-bats and shows average power potential. Bello is playable in center field, but his average speed and above-average arm profile best in right field. He is one of the youngest players in the class, so his tools are still growing. Bello spent the offseason working out with Kolton and Kean Wong to prepare for pro ball. He is committed to St. Mary’s but expected to sign.
  4. The Brewers all over guys that were hyped early on in this high school draft class. [sarcasm]Maybe they are working off an old issue of Baseball America.[/sarcasm]
  5. A little surprised RHP Blaine Knight is still available... has a ton of projection left for a college pitcher.
  6. I missed Griffin Roberts from Wake Forest in that list, but he went to the Cardinals anyway. Looks like at least a couple of those college pitchers will be available at #60.
  7. Among guys that look like they are almost certainly going to college are HS righthanders Kumar Rocker and Cole Wilcox. OF Mike Siani also likely headed to school.
  8. Kansas City Royals have cornered the college pitching market tonight... 18. RHP Brady Singer, Florida 33. RHP Jackson Kowar, Florida 34. LHP Daniel Lynch, Virginia 40. LHP Kris Bubic, Stanford
  9. I am guessing a college pitcher with the next pick. Some of these guys will obviously be gone, but here are a list of some of the best still available... Kris Bubic, LHP, Stanford Blaine Knight, RHP, Arkansas Tristan Beck, RHP, Stanford Sean Hjelle, RHP, Kentucky Konnor Pilkington, LHP, Mississippi State Tanner Dodson, RHP, Cal Tim Cate, LHP, UConn Colton Eastman, Cal State Fullerton
  10. This is a year where it definitely paid off big time to have extra picks in the top 35.
  11. I did the Reddit Live Mock Draft on Sunday picking for the Brewers and I ended up with Brice Turang, Tristan Beck, and Braxton Ashcraft in the first three picks (LINK to final mock draft). I don’t actually think they could sign those three guys, but that would be an amazing night if they could.
  12. I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case. I think Vandy kids have generally been difficult signs. Of those three, I think Rocker is the most likely to go to Vandy.
  13. I think Noah Naylor was a really good pick for the Indians.
  14. Still shaken from the Brent Brewer years. Speaking of the name game, this might have been the best mock draft of all this year (top actual names that will go in this year’s draft)... Mocking the Draft: The 2018 Name Game
  15. If he didn’t sign they would just lose the entire slot value allotted to the pick.
  16. Same here. It was just a guess as well, but I mentioned he was my pick in the other thread also. I’m in a Mock Draft contest, and I got that pick right at least (not so much for the rest of it).
  17. Another SS who saw their draft stock plummet (albeit in college) was Trea Turner. Kind of similar build. I don’t want to be unrealistic, but I think the kid has the ingredients to be a really good baseball player.
  18. Good news is we don’t even have to try to envision what Turang will look like in a Brewers cap/helmet. Like Christian Yelich he played for the Brewers Area Code Games team...
  19. I mentioned this earlier in the regular draft thread, but Turang reminds me of Gavin Lux a little bit. Went about the same spot in the draft. Lux has taken some really nice developmental steps over the last year and is thickening out.
  20. Just today I read a draft report on Christian Yelich from 2010 that said the exact same thing (Link).
  21. Second year in a row I could not be happier with the Brewers 1st pick!!!!
  22. I would be happy to hear a lot of names here, but ecstatic to see them pop Brice Turang here.
