Anyone else concerned about the usage of William Contreras this season? It's pretty unprecedented in this sort of load management era that we're in, in sports these days, for a catcher to play literally EVERY game. I was pleasantly surprised the other day when him and Adames were originally supposed to have the day off, just to find out they were yet again, going to get another start. Not many players these days start every day, ESPECIALLY not catchers. Even him playing DH the games he doesn't catch, shouldn't be an every-time thing either. I"m really concerned he's going to break down at some point, and honestly he already has to some extent. I am too lazy to look up recent stats/game logs, but he's definitely been slipping at least a little bit offensively lately. Just wanted to hear others' thoughts on this also.

Counsell isn't a 'proven leader of postseason choke jobs'. Each season is it's own entity and Counsell has had little to nothing to do with the postseason defeats. MLB playoffs is random. It's hard to win championships, in any sport!

Am I missing something with this Salvatore thing? I thought it was just RobertCrawley always oddly referring to him as that, but now I've seen multiple posters referencing him to that name.

Neither of them are overrated lol. Counsell is one of the best managers in the game.

why shouldn't he be on a playoff roster?? he's an elite baserunner and defender. Theres more to the game than hitting!

why would it be remembered for postseason failure? winning championships is hard. Only one team can come out on top, and we're at a significant disadvantage.

I wouldn't say it's a no-brainer. 11.5 million isn't cheap, especially for a small-market team. We also have a billion OFers that need and are deserving of playing time.

Idk why so many people in this thread are questioning/criticizing Counsell for the playoff losses, Counsell had nothing to do with us losing that series.

She does that often where in the middle of her rambling about something nobody cares about, an amazing play will happen, and she'll just ignore it and go on and on with her story nobody cares about. She's gotta be more observant about that.

I would like them to, but I would assume not. Remember they didn't exercise Kolten Wong's option when it seemed like the right call. Not that it's the same thing, but still.

As great as Contreras has been this season, the scary thing is there's still room for improvement offensively. I feel like he pops out on pitches out of the strike zone when he's ahead in the count too often.
