  1. Crow-Armstrong by far. He's the best player on the planet right now, excluding unicorn Ohtani.
  2. Not gonna lie fellas, I'm getting nervous about the Cubs. They're about to sweep the dodgers. They have an elite offense, elite defense, and now have a very respectable pitching staff.
  3. hard to give a grade until I know the answer to two questions: - do we win the world series this season? - will we re-sign May (and/or Romero) in the off-season?
  4. Yelich may suck, but Sanchez isn't the answer either. At least not against RHP.
  5. I know it's not ideal that May is a rental, but I don't know, maybe he pitches really well for us down the stretch, he likes pitching here, and we re-sign him in the off-season.
  6. I don't either but he hadn't pitched in almost a week.
  7. I wouldn't mind Wacha, but no thanks on Lugo. Lugo's baseball savant page is hideous.
  8. Antoine Kelly makes his MLB debut for the Cubs and throws 1 1/3 scoreless against the Yankees.
  9. I agree. Murphy rides his guys too hard. Contreras being one of them. Catchers shouldn't start virtually every game, which Contreras mostly does. Last year (or was it the year before?) where he started like 3497593763 consecutive games was absurd.
  10. twins got AJ minter for a bag of balls; that would have been a nice target for us. Hopefully Morejon can be had cheaply too.
  11. a lot of red on the baseball savant page. Yes please!
  12. Wacha would be a welcome addition to the starting rotation. Veteran pitcher that would be a much-needed quality start innings-eater for us. Model of consistency.. five consecutive seasons with an ERA in the 3s (with each season an xERA in the low-to-mid 4s which is still decent enough)
  13. us getting sproat and Jett Williams for Peralta surprised you? granted it's hindsight but that package looks kinda crappy right now lol
  14. I thought Rottino and/or levering mentioned in the broadcast the other day something about an injury Webb has been playing through of late. If I'd be trading for Webb i'd hope he's pretty close to 100% healthy.
  15. good point, they've quietly won five straight and are only a game and a half out of the wildcard. Fangraphs does only give them a 21% chance at the playoffs however.
  16. even if you throw pena in the trade, I'd do it. Miller isn't a rental, and is absolutely dominant. It'd be like having two Misiorowskis on the team. One in the rotation, one in the bullpen.
  17. I don't think trading them four of those guys is outlandish. (excluding the first three)
  18. mclanahan left the game for the rays in the fourth inning with a trainer and his velocity had been down a couple mph. I know they've been one of the rumored teams in on Skubal, maybe this makes them even more desperate now.
  19. what do we think of Trevor Rogers as a target? Lefty that's a poor man's Reid Detmers.... I'd prefer Detmers, but as wiguy has pointed out, Detmers has already flown by his innings total from last year so who knows how much more he has left in the tank. Rogers could be an alternative?
  20. wasn't Ashby really good at one point? is it just regression this season?
  21. I don't for the life of me know why Murphy hits him as high as he does in the batting order vs righties.
  22. idk, low and inside breaking balls give him fits too. Take your pick.
