  1. and that's just the offense. Nevermind the advantage Turang has over Braun in defense and base running.
  2. I always wondered why opponents just didn't bunt towards him a bunch throughout the game. (same with Jon Lester)
  3. why did he go undrafted? you would think the bloodlines alone would get him drafted as long as he's a halfway decent prospect.
  4. I'd need a world series win to feel happy about the season! Playoff losses hurt, man. Regular season success means nothing if you don't finish off the job!
  5. I've said it several times over the past week or so, but Vaughn has been mostly fine. In the Cubs series, he hit several fly balls right into the extreme wind blowing in. Another recent game he hit 3 balls over 100 MPH into outs.
  6. I don't remember Jansen's other at-bat, but I know one of his at-bats weren't ugly. Took a pitch on the black of the inside corner, took a pitch on the black of the outside corner, then the pitcher pulled the string on a nice changeup that he whiffed on. Sometimes you just tip your cap to the pitcher.
  7. worst interviewee of all-time.
  8. Vaughn has mostly hit into bad luck lately. He's also barely had a game off since joining the Brewers and is going through fatigue. These guys are humans, not robots.
  9. Vaughn is fatigued. Went without a game off for 67546446758 days in a row. Also, the wind was blowing in at Wrigley for several games which killed his fly balls.
  10. part of it is fatigue, he's had one game off in the last several weeks. Part of it too was a few of those Cubs games, the wind was drastically blowing in, and his flyballs just died.
  11. for all the talk about workload for our relievers lately, there's not enough talk about position player fatigue. Yelich and Contreras haven't had a day off in forever, and Frelick maybe one off day off in a while off the top of my head.
  12. pinch-hitting Siegler for Durbin was the right call. Just didn't work out. Both are mediocre options against good pitching.
  13. I thought today would have been a good day to finally get Yelich a day off against a tough lefty. Hasn't had a day off in a while off the top of my head.
  14. these guys aren't robots, Vaughn hadn't had a day off in a long time. Not the end of the world for him to sit against a tough RHP.
  15. Vaughn is a good player, but it wouldn't kill him to get a game off once in a while. No reason Bauers can't start against a tough righty every once in a while. I could see him starting tonight against Webb even.
  16. Now that you mention it, I bet if something happens with Monasterio, they do move Turang to SS. With Durbin moving to 2B.
  17. to be fair, some of that has to do with the wind blowing in at Wrigley the last several games; I feel like he was impacted by that more than anyone with how many flyballs he hits.
  18. for real. I thought he would be a lock to get to third base on that hit.
  19. I feel like he gets a LOT of whiffs on that pitch.
  20. definitely. I have zero faith in him every time he's in the batters box.
  21. i'm sure i'm in the minority here, but I think game one would be a good time to give Yelich, Turang, and/or Frelick a day off against the tough lefty, especially with these x games in x days stretch we're in.
