  1. how the hell do you blame clark for baserunning mistakes when he was safe on both counts? The umpire screwed clark twice and it likely cost us the game. Bradys mishandling of the base hit late in the game was huge but he was safe at 2nd both times. We got jobbed.
  2. Seeing Cirillo melt down actually made the loss more tolerable. At least we know these guys give a crap and weren't about to sit back and let the umps screw them over without some sort of response. The umpiring was just plain horrible in this game. I enjoyed the meltdown and look forward to winning 3 of 4 against these pr*cks.
  3. Honestly.... this game is only worth watching to see Weeks. Otherwise its worthless.
  4. ok....who comes up from Nashville tomorow? Maybe we should dip into AA and pluck Nelson Cruz.
  5. Well so far in his career vs Major league lefthanded bullpen specialists he doesn't have a hit.
  6. I gotta say.... Ned Yost just doesn't use his freakin head. I mean, he has gaurenteed himself that at some point Jenkins and Fielder will face a lefty out of the pen. By simply putting the middle of the order as Lee, Jenks, Hall, Fielder, Hardy.....he would have stayed away from that scenario. I just don't get that strategy. Setting up for failure. I am excited that Prince and Weeks are playing but that lineup is stupid. Yost is creating a situation where Trevor Miller sends them home frustrated. That isn't good managing.
  7. Good lord this team sucks. Cory Freakin Lidle shuts them down. This is getting ridiculous with the risp stats. Runner on 3rd and one out. What brewer would you want up to the plate? The one who k's the least, right? Well, we did and what does he do? K's. The 10-1 underdog K comes up and bites Milwaukee in the freakin rear end. Unreal.
  8. If that lineup is real I am sort of suprised that everyone is excited about it. 5-9 that is the worst lineup that any MLB team will field this week.
  9. I know Dan Kolb pretty well sucks but, does it bother anyone that Capellan blows? What happened to his 101 mph heater? I didn't think AAA hitters were supposed to mash vs the number 1 pitching prospect in the galaxy. He isn't the pitcher Melvin thought he was getting.
  10. Only 4 more picks until the Brewers draft another 5 tool MONSTER who will freakin ROCK.
  11. The way this draft works he'll likely be the NL starting pitcher in the 2008 All-Star game. Michael Moore got picked? He better have big power, I doubt he has much speed. His autobiography will HAVE to be titled OPS .911.
  12. I was kidding about the platoon guys. Nothing like planning platoons 3 years into the future. I assumed my sarcasm would be obvious.
  13. We have our new "battler", now all we need is a gamer and a hard worker and Neds cupboards will be stocked.
  14. Its obvious Yost wants to extend the platoon situation at 3b for as long as possible. Branyan/Cirillo can only last so long. Braun/Gamel is a franchise cornerstone platoon. Obvious.
  15. braun looks more than "solid" to me. BA had him ranked 2nd best college athlete. 4th best power and 3rd best speed. Thats a an offensive package. Defense is suspect but...that just takes work. when do we pick again? 80something?
  16. wow...braun it is... i am a bit shocked they didnt take maybin...but...ok....start rakin' son.
  17. screw it... does cecil fielder have any more kids?
  18. I am begining to get on board with Braun. Huge numbers plus BA has him ranked 2nd best overall athlete among college players. They also rank him 4th overall in power and 3rd overall in speed. That seems to be a lethal combo. Braun, Hardy, Weeks and Fielder in '07. That would work out just fine.
  19. Put me on record as wanting to NOT select a pitcher. It is just way to hard to cultivate a pitcher from the draft to the starting rotation. I feel Melvin needs to go out and get the best offensive player available and add him to the Weeks-Fielder plan and see what happens. Getting a pitcher from the draft to the mound at Miller Park is like trying to kick an egg across a parking lot. I think its going to be either Gordon, Braun or Maybin.
  20. Finally we get a win vs an All-Star caliber hurler. We have let Santana, Peavey and Gagne off the hook recently so getting a win vs Randy is mighty fine.
  21. I think drafting to fill major league position voids is the height of stupidity. Take the best baseball players and see what happens. No one Milwaukee takes is going to see Miller Park until 2008 at the earliest anyway.
  22. Dharris... just wanted to tell you that I ran into Devon Harris at West Town Mall this afternoon. He was at Boston Store, all by himself. Ironically enough my wife and I also ran into Mike Wilkenson and his girlfriend. They were upstairs at Boston Store registering for gifts. My wife said hi to Harris and asked how he was doing. He seemed as shy and timid as a 9th grader on his first date. He was very cordial though. It was cool to see those guys. I am not sure if they came together but they weren't walking around together.
  23. Weeks won't be 23 until September 13th. The man is 22 and KILLING AAA. 1.134 OPS. Just for fun, RW is on pace for these numbers, given 550 AB's 40 doubles 26 triples 35 HR's 23 SB's 119 runs 139 RBI 380 Total Bases Part of me wants to see how his numbers end up in a full season at Nashville, but MOST of me wants this guy playing 2b in Milwaukee NOW.
