  1. .....but most of all I was just ranting after another brewer loss....my apologies.
  2. square... first of all...how would I know enough about your background to assume you never played baseball past little league? I couldn't, therefore I wasn't calling anyone out. I was responding to a poster who was talking about the fact that former players don't know any more than anyone else. I disagree. As far as Theo goes, give the 16 year old bagger at the grocery store that amount of money to blow on a payroll and I bet his team doesn't suck either.
  3. I must say that having a background of actually playing the game for many years gives a person a different perspective than people who stopped after little league. As far as "beer leagues", I think that must refer to softball. I have never really heard of beer league baseball around this area. I can say that city leagues are abundant and are extremely competative and filled with quality players from colleges, high schools and 20 and 30 somethings with gas left in the tank. Softball players are not to be confused with people who played little league, Pony league, High School and then perhaps College followed by city leagues. My experience playing in city leagues was that the consensus was that it was of better quality than the Wisconsin State college league. Playing the game DOES sharpen ones senses when looking at the professional game and stat geeks and fatsos sitting at their computers need to understand that. Geeks and tubbies .......start your keyboards and bash away.
  4. I must admit the Cardinals are impressive. They are going to sweep the Brewers AND elect a new Pope all in one weekend. Anyone see a puff of smoke coming from the dugout yet?
  5. JJ Hardy is going to shatter the record for most ground outs 6-3. He never k's so he should be able to pad the 6-3 stat like crazy. I wonder how bad our shortstops have to suck before bill hall gets a legit shot. Clayton, Councell and Hardy all have gotten the nod over Billy. I am not so sure about letting Hardy go up there swinging like all he wants to do is tap it out there. If I hear Sutton say that Yost told JJ "dont worry about your offense, just focus on defense" one more time...I will join Jenkins in his puke fest. It makes NO sense. JJ KNOWS he can field like a pro. Everyone has been saying he is mlb caliber and has been for 2 years in the minors defensivly. What he can't do is HIT. Why would Yost NOT want him to focus on hitting when defense is something he doesnt really need to focus on in order to do well? this is going to be a frustrating year. AGAIN.
  6. I had more runs in 2 days in Mexico than this team has scored in the last 2 games.
  7. if sutton likes eckstein that much he needs to get real. I for one am thankful that he isnt milwaukee's shortstop. He is the kind of garbage we usually pick up only worse. He is a useless offensive rally killer and throws like a girl. Nice 700 career OPS. Real impressive. I guess its not bad for someone who still fits his little league uni. Get over Eckstein.
  8. ajay you arent the only one. Thankfully, I am at work and can only follow along on the yahoo game tracker. Watching this carnage wouldnt be good for my health. This series cant get over soon enough.
  9. there is something wierd about the chemistry of this team. Can't put my finger on it. No spark. Plus, we are giving up way way way to many easy outs.
  10. the way milwaukee has been swinging the bats....thats likely the ball game.
  11. so branyan is officially hurt or what? No Jenkins either? Whats the story with THIS lineup?
  12. Prediction of the day... davis goes to 3-0
  13. I am begining to think Miller should catch 162 games and Bill Hall should be playing short. Having 1/3 of your lineup be automatic outs sort of puts you in a bad situation. You are basically giving up 3 innings with Moeller/Hardy/Pitcher hitting 7-8-9. I know Miller can't catch every game but perhaps Hall should start every time Moeller is in the lineup to help off set the complete lack of offense.
  14. Davey Lopes would bench Spivey tomorow so he doesn't break the all time strikeout record.
  15. I sure hope Sheets likes watching Moeller go up there and be an auto out. There is a substantial difference between having Moeller and Miller in the lineup. Ben is biting his own behind on that call.
  16. Uhm.... could this game be any MORE boring?
  17. With the rise of players like Fielder, Weeks and Krynzel and the demise of Gold, Nuegebauer and Jones, wouldn't it be a good idea to go for a position player early? It seems our track record would indicate that selecting pitchers in the 1st round is a bit of a pipe dream while the position player would have a much better chance at ever making a big league impact. I know there are good pitchers in the draft but it just seems like getting a pitcher from the draft to the starting rotation is like trying to kick an egg across a parking lot. There are never any gaurentees but it seems like Milwaukee might be better off trying to add more pop to their future Krynzel-Weeks-Fielder-Cruz-Nelson lineup than trying to hit the jackpot at long odds with a pitcher.
  18. If by that you mean "unbelievably friggen awesome" I would agree. I dont think there could be a better statistical bullpen in baseball at this point. Let the stats roll in on that, but I would give the pen an A+ for the first 8 games.
  19. seems like this inning will boil down to jenks. Overbay should bunt. Lee will be intentionally walked and the bases will be loaded with one out for jenks.
  20. forgive me..I cant watch or listen to the game.... who got their potential HR's stolen? 2 today? who?
  21. Yep, you missed something. I haven't predicted Jenks to launch until this morning. I have the studliest track record of predictions imaginable. I am starting to scare myself.
  22. Early prediction... Jenks launches #1. I am thinking maybe he gets #2 today as well. Brewers score early and often today.
  23. justin lehr.....9 hits, 5 runs.....1/3 of an inning. Ugly. Nelson Cruz better be a legit big leaguer.
  24. In case you missed it.... Spiveys 1st HR was called. Sheets innings on opening day was called His hits and k's were each off by one (sorry) Kerry Woods innings and walks called.(of by 2 outs) Branyans pending 500 ft bombs. (off by 35 feet) Adams first save was called. Predicted an 8-1 win game #2. Final was 9-2. (seven run margin). Not bad. Those are it for the 1st 6 games. I dont recall any other predictions so correct me if I missed anything.

A flurry of 500 foot rockets are in the near future for Russell. ___________________________________________________ My studly predictions continue to be right on the MONEY! I haven't miss a thing from the start of the season. Don't be jealous guys. Someday, you will be able to see things a step ahead like I do. Its sort of like the "Searching for Bobby Fischer" line....."...don't move until you see it". Fear not, I will offer some of my predictions and analysis soon.
