  1. In reference to Helms and Branyan I assume? Ok...no offense...but.. Dont be an Idiot. With your logic Milwaukee should attempt to get Hank Aaron to come back. Cirillo's career numbers dont matter because his best years are over 3 years old. He is in his mid 30's and can't be expected to reproduce those numbers. As far as Helms and Branyan...they are the same age..and have nearly the same amount of Major league AB's to compare. RB has severely outplayed WH in those 1200 at bats and 40 spring AB's cant change that. With all that said...I think Cirillo will make the team as a bench player. I hope he does.
  2. I will officially HATE Ned Yost if he uses 40 Spring AB's to compare Russ and Wes rather than over 1200 MAJOR LEAGUE AB's. God.
  3. man oh man... this is all we need......lee with a potential broken hand...and helms trying to get hot and ruin our dreams of Branyan FINALLY getting a full time gig.
  4. what is the word on Lee? How bad does it sound? If his hand is broke......he wont play until the freakin All Star Break. This sucks hard.
  5. I disagree...i think Helms is playing at the top of his game. He has one hit already this spring....doesn't he?
  6. good news on brett.... anyone else getting slightly concerned that Weeks can't seem to get a hit?
  7. my wife and I were cracking up all week about the gigantic Magnum PI advert on the outfield wall. It seems like an odd thing to promote...but....whatever.
  8. . Its not meaningless to win in March. Does it count? No. Is it a positive yes. Sure we went 18-12 in Arizona and then won less than 70 regular season games BUT.....keep this in mind....... After winning 18 games in ST ....the team came out hot out of the gates and were 7 games over .500 after the mid way point. Milwaukee collapsed but the good spring propelled them to a good start.
  9. brewcrewkid.... nope....I am back home in wisconsin. I flew out of phoenix at 7 am. Back home trying to get updates like everyone else now.
  10. not working for me.... its asking for a login and password.
  11. NO free webcasts today? Whats the deal?
  12. I hate to say I told you so but..... Nelson Cruz is awesome. Way way way ahead of B Nelson or C Hart at this point.
  13. Last day in Phoenix. Not going to the game today. Going to chill by the pool and get some lunch. 3 games this week for me. 3 wins and we personally witnessed about 900 feet of Carlos bombs. Nices suprises... Housmans delivery....Nelson Cruz's athletic ability....Fielders approach.....Jenkins timing....Turnbows heat.....Hart/Weeks/Fielder autographing my program.....Brady Clark is becoming a favorite of mine......Jeff Cirillo looks like he will make the team to me...... There were no real bad things ....lots of fun and I recommend the trip for everyone.
  14. I will tell you right now that Nelson Cruz is way ahead of Brad Nelson or Cory Hart. No question about it. After watching them all play this week its clear as day. Cruz will put up big numbers this year. Hart and Nelson might be OK but they arent yet in Cruz's league.
  15. Not so fast chief. You have to watch these guys play in person before trading Jenks or Overbay. Hart and Nelson are no where in the same universe with Jenkins or Lyle right now. As I said in my previous post....Nelson and Hart are light years behind Nelson Cruz. After watching Hart and Nelson play this spring I would estimate a platoon with that tandem in 2005 in Milwaukee would hit around .220 with 10-12 bombs and maybe 50 rbi. If Cruz, Nelson and Hart all play in AAA together. Cruz will run circles around both.
  16. Thoughts from todays game........ after some early showers, another beautiful day for baseball. Carlos Lee's 1st HR was one of the longest bombs I have ever seen in person. It had to be in the range of 475-500 feet. His single was hit just as hard or harder than the HR's. 3 ab's....3 crushed balls. Has Brady clark made an out yet in Arizona? 3 for 3 with 3 doubles today. He owns podsednik. Leaving the game yesterday, we saw Brady taking extra bp in the cage. He is a workaholic. Fielder hit everything sharply. His defense looks fine, by the way. Weeks is starting to struggle. Looks to be starting his swing late and trying to catch up to everything. Not hitting the ball hard. Nelson Cruz looks really really promising. He is pretty big but runs with grace. Made a fantastic diving play in the gap and crush a ball down the 3rd base line foul. Long gone but foul. He is way further along than Hart or Brad Nelson. No contest. Cruz is in another galaxy over those guys. Helling, Bennet and Botalico looked solid. The bad news...... Sarfate and Diggins looked so hittable it wasn't even funny. I will be shocked if Sarfate has a good major league career. Diggins got lit up to but looked better in person. Sarfate looked extremely smooth to a fault. It seemed like no one had a problem timing anything he threw. He appeared to have the slowest fastball of the pitchers today as well. I heard he was a hard thrower but I didnt see that today at all. Anyway... watching Lee and Fielder was worth the price of admission. Seeing Weeks struggle is kind of a bummer. Might be going to the game again tomorow. Last day in Phoenix.
  17. i will be there. I will post my thoughts following the game.
  18. Just got back from the game. Weeks, Fielder and Hart all signed my program, thanks to my wife!! She did all the work. Notes: Turnbow was throwing serious heat and batters looked completly overmatched. Housman is very very smooth. Not a lot of offense but... Jenkins hit the ball hard again today. I have seen every at bat so far this spring and Jenkins has hit the ball hard every single time. Hardy looks very polished at shortstop. Weeks hit a screamer to left but it was flagged down. Prince has a huge dome and will be the king of bucketheads. Lee is the biggest guy I have ever seen wear a brewer uniform. He is huge. Looks bigger than Fielder. Turnbow was the most impressive pitcher. Could close if contiues to throw strikes. Helms had a very nice rip to center and looks a LOT thinner. According to my wife, Cory Hart's haircut is "ludacris". Thats bad. Got to see Palmisano walk around the dugout. He looks like an athlete. Once again, not a lot of offensive action but a nice solid well played game. 3-0. Can't complain. Off to Suprise manana!
  19. why does everyone keep saying fermaint pitched vs oakland? He didnt. I saw him play vs seattle in maryvale. He looks like puckett.
  20. A few thoughts from Maryvale. It was loads of fun to see Capellan, Krynzel, Weeks, Iberran, Fermaint and the regulars. Branyan barely missed a bomb on a towering shot to right. Weeks looks MLB ready to me. He can absolutly fly around the bases and WILL lead the league in triples some day. He looks like a phenom. Cirillo KILLED the ball in both AB's. Fermaint is much much stockier than I realized. Think Puckett. Cappellan pitched into good AND bad luck. The first batter hit one off the end of the bat and Nelson started back and turned it into a single. Should have been an out. Jenks later saved JC on a shot to the gap in right with a LONG running catch. Jenks looked awesome. Timing every pitch perfectly. Krynzel walked all 3 times and stole a base. Nice. Brad Nelson sure doesn't look like a baseball player. Not impressed in my first view. Capuano looked just fine as did the rest of the pitchers except Kiesch who looked sloppy. Iberran is very fast and looks to be a legit contact line drive hitter. I liked him alot. Seeing Weeks got me really pumped. You just expect a bullet to come off his bat every time. Cappellan throws hard but his curve is really good too. He will rack up just as many k's with number 2 as number 1. Can't wait to get to the game tomorow and hopefully see Fielder and Lee.
  21. I will be at the Maryvale game today and will try to take some notes so I can give a bit of an update. In case you missed it here is the lineup. Krynzel Weeks Overbay Jenkins Branyan Nelson Miller Hardy Capuano.....to be followed by Capellan!! YES! Later.
  22. Yeah, No Krynzel. Boo Yost. Boo. Get out of Brady Clark's arse. Its getting so boring. Was there any reason to watch tonights game OTHER than seeing Krynzel play? As far as I am concerned he should not only play for Clark, but he should push Podsednik to RF. We all know Scott is a brutal CF. Oh well, Ned continues to be stubborn. I graded him an A last year. This year Ned is around a D-.
  23. what are the chances that branyon will sign with the brewers to be the starting 3b in 2005?? What is the contract situation? I sure as hell hope that yost is going to finally get over wes helms.
