  1. Here another good piece of advice. Kids, especially ones that go to daycare, are walking germ factories. Dont make this mistake that I did. My daughter had a stomach bug. I got her a strawberry shake because I thought it would be something that would ease her stomach cramps. Well she drinks half and hands it to me and says "daddy take a drink", half paying attention I grab it and as my lips wrap around the straw and begin to drink I have one of those movie flashback scenes in my head of all the nasty nasty diapers from the last couple days and realize that I just knowingly just infected myself. Well that next day I was awoken by the rumbling(you all know what that is) and perceeded to spend the next couple days wearing a path to the bathroom and losing 10lbs in the process. As for a daycare, I highly reccommend it. You can be the best teacher in the world and have the greatest teaching plan laid out but kids tend to learn better amoungst their peers. A good place knows how to teach kids and has programs that are designed for kids that age. Our daughter is very smart and we credit alot of what she has learned to the daycare.
  2. I bowl once a week during the winter and have through bloody and somewhat unspeakable battling gotten myself to be able to play 2 nights of softball this year. My daughter turns 3 this year and most of the ball comes at her bedtime and when she is asleep. Other then those 4 hours a week I am at home with her and my wife and it took this long to convince her to let me play two nights. So yes your life will change.
  3. That was for a family of three. We were mainly looking for coverage on doctors visits for our daughter and PX reduction.
  4. As the only man in the house, you never win battles you are just allowed to retreat with your life.
  5. As some advice, never buy the Cobra insurance since it pretty much is a scam. Go to Blue Cross/Blue Shield and you can get on par insurance to most companies for about 250-300 a month. For me I get the max in unemployment which is $388 a week, obliviously a drastic cut in what I was making before, but with a home that is paid off and only about $500 in bills to pay a month, me and my family have been doing ok(my wife works).
  6. You can always contact the unemployment offices and see how they would rule if you turned them down. Like I said if you can make a case that you are worse off then before excepting this job vs. looking for a new one they agree with you.
  7. They kinda have you by the short ones. If you try to claim unemployment you will have to say that you turned down work. They wont outright reject you, and it will probably go to review. You can explain that the reason you are not accepting the job is because it would be the same position you held but for much less money then before. This may or may not work so who knows. Well if you are on the fence about retaking the job, you can play alittle hard ball with them. Tell them that you wont work the worse hours or ask for more money. Really what do you have to lose, you dont have the job anyways and you are still getting paid. As far as the severence I would say that you are working on some stuff and would not be available till the Monday after it runs out.
  8. Oh and pick the cartoons you want them to watch carefully. Not for content by any means, but because you are going to be watching that same show and seeing that character everyday for years. We restrict her to about an hour in the morning(Little Einstines, Mickey and then Imagination Movers{which isnt that bad}) and then her stories for an hour before bedtime(Dora da *sic Explorer and Diego). She is in love with Dora and has a ton of stuff. It actually is somewhat helpful since she knows how to count to 10 in spanish, knows her colors and how to say hello, goodbye, up, down, lets go etc in spanish.
  9. Never, I repeat never leave your 2 year old alone for a moment. If it becomes quiet then that is the time to panic because they are up to something. For example, I go to the bathroom for about 3-5 minutes downstairs. I come back up and am greeted at the top of the stairs by my daughter holding her fruit snacks asking me to open them. As I get closer I notice her face is all shiny. Turns out that she ran into her bedroom, grabbed the canister of Vicks that was in her drawer and proceeded to wipe the whole 4 OZ of Vicks on her face, in her hair(which goes to her lower back) all over the the tv stand and what was left ended up on the floor in front of the TV. Well into the bath she goes, and do you know how hard it is to clean a kid when the water beads off of her like a newley waxed car? That was a fun one to explain to the boss when she got home. Around 2-3 starts the "daddy....daddy.....daddy...DADDY....DAAADDDDDYYYY" till you head wants to explode and you say "WHAT?!?" and you get the response of "I love you daddy" along with a hug. There are going to be times that you love them to death and cant imagine them not being around and there are other times you hope that they somehow lock themselves in a closet for an hour. Ebb and flow.
  10. "Up your Bucket Joboo" the whole exchange between Dorn and Vaughn after he figures out who tricked him is horribly dubbed.
  11. Make sure there isnt an economic down turn and you get laid off for a couple months and end being a stay at home dad for a couple months in the winter with a 2 yr old. I dont drink but I now understand why people do.
  12. 2) Tire Store, but he had to put them on hold since he had a guy on the other line "about some white walls" 3) religious freedom 4)WTMJ 5) Jalapeno, yes he puts snot on the ball since he doesnt have an arm like Rick's. 6) The Yankees 7)LaCrosse? Field Hockey? 8) American 9) 2 with lines I am think one other with no lines 10) It was in left field so I have no idea why it would be bad other then in amongst the fans. 12) In the Salirium(sp) 13) Charter flight on jet, to prop plane to bus. 14) yes, during the first game when he was acting as the crowd cheering 15) You had to be alive the last time they won a pennet 16) Stealing a car 17) Janitor 18) Because Jesus Christ cant hit a curveball 19) Ole Bull poo 20) Bucket of Chicken bought by the bench coach
  13. Someone needs to explain the blackout rules to me. I watched an earlier Brewer game this spring on another FSN channel when it wasnt broadcast on FSNW, similar to today. I would have been able to watch it today had I kept the sports pack from DTV. Now why would MLBN then blackout the showing here, when the game is a replay that I could have anyhow had I had FSN-Arizona?
  14. I would really like to know why this game is being blacked out here, especially since FSN-North isnt even carrying the game.
  15. its blacked out for me with Direct TV, at least it was when it came on 213
  16. Dont they basically mean the same thing? If one is worse then it would depend how said situation presents it self.
  17. If I hit another weak ground ball with the bases loaded on a fastball right down the middle I am going to scream. By the way, could they have picked any more lamer music for a video game designed for 15-30 males? Rap and Heavy Metal would be the two genres that most of boys/men of that genre listen to and yet they music that I would only make prisoners listen to as punishment.
  18. I use both, but then again never balance my check book. The thing I find more rude then a person skipping line would be the teenage to mid 40's woman who insists on talking on the phone the whole time they check out and either ignore the cashier's questions or appear annoyed that they would bother to ask a question or tell them how much it costs. I tend to make my displeasure known when this happens. My line jumping story came two weeks ago. I am standing in line to pay for round of golf. There are two guys, obliviously in the same group ahead of me paying separately. I am in line behind them. As the first guy is paying an old guy stands next to me. If anyone has been to the Bridges in Madison you know that there isnt alot of room to stand in line there. As the second guy ahead of me is paying the old man next to me moves up the counter but stand off to the side where there is no one at the register. As the two guys turn and leave the old man slides over with money and GC in hand and pays. I am just dumbfounded and all I could utter was "Are you ------- kidding me?" and looking around to see if I was the only one that saw that. Neither the old man or the cashier said a thing.
  19. If only Mike Lamb didnt have those Doug Melvin/Gord Ash picks....
  20. I can see how you could call the Brewers a mystery team due to starting pitching alone. They are relying on a guy who hasnt pitched a full year in the big leagues, a potential #2 Parra who can be Jekyll and Hyde and then 3 journeymen. The argument can easily be made that the Reds have a much better staff and in fact I would trade their staff for the Brewers straight up.
  21. Looper roughed up pretty good, but I will give him a pass for the next few starts to work the kinks out. Mike Lamb with a homer and Chris Duffy continues to tap dance on the grave of TGjr. I really wish one of the infielders and outfielders would go Trot Nixon so it would be easier to decide who to keep.
  22. I see a 60 day DL stint for Mr. Riske coming up soon.
  23. Just started the RTTS as a CF. I am going to call shenanigans on this being the most realistic baseball game. There are something that happen when you are hitting that dont happen in the real life. Makes you want to throw the controller through the wall. I have no idea why they felt the need to change up the base running.
  24. How do you switch it back to classic baserunning, for some reason on the PS3 version I cant find it.
