  1. Connor, as usual you are spot on. Both players could be bridge type players while younger guys like Escobar and Cain get their feet under them.
  2. There are by far no guruantees that Salome would be the starting catcher next. Depending on what the organization values(defense vs bat) Lucroy could get the nod.
  3. He kept refering to his daughters as "daughter". Rickie really has a problem with plural items. He read his speech, that more then likely was written for him so that he would not embarrass himself. You could tell though when he went off script.
  4. He went 2 innings with 2 SOs and no hits.
  5. He will be offered Arby, more then likely he will decline, looking for a multi year contract. If he were to accept it, he would be a pretty nice bench piece.
  6. You dont screw with the Jesus!! http://usera.imagecave.com/ClaytonJ/the_big_lebowski_jesus1.jpg
  7. For some reason when I read this title, this is what always comes to mind. http://coreyking.files.wordpress.com/2009/02/chris-crocker-cries.jpg
  8. I agree, Linebrink's life was turned upside down because of the trade and then IIRC his wife was due at any minute around that time. Pretty tough to adjust to a new environment and have the burden of you wife with a new born on the other side of the country.
  9. yeah, its just idle speculation. I highly doubt they would give up both players(Washburn and Morrow) in the same deal when you could get two separate deals and get really good prospects for both in those deals. Unl;ess Jack wants to reclaim some of his pitching that he picked, go right ahead and take them Jack. I also could see Lawrie be a part of the deal, which wouldn't upset me since he is somewhat devalued in the system now that he is a 2B. I base that on the Brewers keeping Weeks over Hardy or someone like Josh Prince being able to play that position.
  10. If they were the same age, we could have that discussion. Since Gamel has a few years on McGehee it isnt even close.
  11. I think the money would be on Hanson achieving this tonight.
  12. Sorry for your loss, but to honest, there are more pressing and important issues for insurance companies and the police to deal with then a stolen stereo. Not trying to be condescending at all, just the that its the reality of the situation.
  13. I think the report was that he wouldnt give up both players.
  14. Does seem like a lot to give up for a guy having an average year and who may or may not resign with you.
  15. The bullpen is starting to run out of guys that Macha is confident in.
  16. It has nothing to do with travel and everything to do with you life getting turned upside down. Imagine if you were at work today and they told you that you were transferred across the country to another division of that company. You would you would need some time to get everything in order, now imagine if you had a family too.
  17. The biggest thing Gamel needs to work on is pitch recognition. He strikes out on 3 pitch strikes an awful lot for a non pitcher. Working through things is better done in the minors and not the majors of a possible contending team.
  18. For those worried about losing Gillespie, dont. I could rattle off at least 5 guys in the system that can put up his production and probably be better outfielders. Heck there are two from this years draft, with one being an undrafted free agent.
  19. Can we all finally agree that Gerut is worthless. While he may have had a good year last year, he is pathetic this year. You could have kept Gwynn or Duffy and got the same production and still have Gwynn as trade bait.
  20. The Brewer scouts where there with other teams scouts. The Brewer scouts left because they got sick of waiting and had other things to do down there.
  21. You would think if it was only going to take a Mil to sign him, the other 15 or so teams that kicked the tires on him would have made more of an effort to bring him in then just watching him throw. He is washed up and doesnt have anything left in the tank. They stated that he did two throwing sessions a couple days apart, the first one he was hitting 90-91 a couple days later he was only able to top out at 88.
  22. I never want to here the Brewers complain about the shadows. Other teams seem to have no problem with them.
