  1. Thanks guys, I thought I saw the Hurricane in the dugout but never saw anything official other then speculation.
  2. If you watch Hart he is all out on every fly since it takes him to long to react(as stated above). When you watch Cameron, no matter the hit it looks like he is shagging flys in batting practice, a nice smooth glide to the ball.
  3. arent they still short one player on the roster? Or did I miss someone else coming up? Hall, Suppan and Dillard out with only Burns and Vargas in.
  4. Gamel hasnt done anything to show that he deserves that playing time. Combine him looking lost at the plate, and Counsel being on fire you have no excuse to play Gamel. Figuring out your hitting is done in the minors, not in the majors on a contending team. With that said, now that its apparent that this team isnt contending, Gamel should be up here to get the experience for next year.
  5. Thats fine, but to say that you need to trade him so Gamel can play doesnt make sense.
  6. My point is that you can still bring up Gamel and play him if you want. Having Counsel here doesnt stop you from doing that, and in reality makes this team stronger.
  7. You are only going to get a A baller at best for him, he only makes 1 mil this year and is probably the 3rd best offensive player this year.
  8. There is zero upside to trading Counsel, especially for what he is getting paid and the probable return you would get for him.
  9. Pretty much 90% of all rosters are put on waivers. Unlike in years past where teams would claim guys just to block them from being traded to other teams, there is a gentlemens agreement between GMs not to do this anymore. Since this has happened the trading deadline is meaningless in regards to all players outside of the top 10%(Fielder, Halladay etc).
  10. Why do I have the feeling that the Dodgers process of picking Rottino was similar to having only 5 tickets and you have to decide between the plastic spider ring or the comb.
  11. exactly what the staff needs, another nibbling pitcher who can go more then 5 innings.
  12. Looks like there is no market for our current players and to rich of a market for other teams players. I expect a mid August trade.
  13. They get all their information on the Mike Heller Show from the JSonline.
  14. Is it possible to shut the whole team down for the year?
  15. Melvin left all the draft related issues to Jack and his staff.
  16. According to TH and its not arm related. What test do they use to test someone's pride?
  17. That has to make me think they are reworking their battle plan to sell mode.
  18. X was talking about top of the rotation starting pitchers... as was I. He hasn't acquired a single long-term top of the rotation starter through a Trade or Free Agency since he's been here. The closest he's came was JDLR all the way back in 2003 who couldn't throw strikes until last season for the Rockies and may have finally salvaged his career. Good for him, bad for us. The same could be said for about 15-20 other GMs. #1 starters are as rare as **insert your own joke here**
  19. If there ever was evidence that fans should boo a player, giving up 8 runs to the worst teams in the majors would be it.
  20. Man this is going to be an ugly series, with both teams burning through bullpens. These games are going to be rec league softball games.
  21. MA to Doug, shortly after the Grand Slam
  22. From the games I have seen of Harang this year, he has had a Dave Bush typical year. Pitch lights out for the whole game except for that one blow up inning.
