  1. A: Get no-hit Q: What's the last thing we'd like to do on a nationally televised game?
  2. A: Me Q: Who would like to see Bonds plunked in the ear-hole?
  3. A: A: what post is about to get deleted? This one, since there wasn't a question. Q: Which other post is about to be deleted?
  4. A: Kenny Albert Q: Who's a moron for saying "that's Dave Bush's first strikeout" when it was his third?
  5. Trading Weeks now would be, IMHO, utterly insane. Love him, hate him, or never heard of him, you don't trade a talented player while he's in the worst rut of his life. Trades are all about getting value, and Weeks is the last guy on the team for whom you could get value at this moment. I was hoping someone had made this statement. Way too early to give up on a talent like Weeks. Now, he may need to rest much of the rest of the year to get his wrists/thumbs healed fully, but he has way too much talent to give up on him yet. And like you said, even if NEED to include him to get a missing piece, at least wait until he's at least on a mini-tear.

  7. Those are all great starts!!
  8. Nobody would give a damn if someone in another stadium dressed Fielder up like a fat, beer-swilling German American guy from Milwaukee. Why shouldn't I be offended by that, though? Because I have a sense of humor and everyone is too uptight!!
  9. A: Please help me here.... Q: How dangerous can Avodart be if women can't even touch it? And why would I feel comfortable taking it if they can't even touch it?!
  10. And she left before doing the postgame naked.... could have turned the ratings around a little bit.
  11. A. Honolulu Q. Where is the Brewers game being telecast compared to other games or infomercials?
  12. At his steroid-induced oversized head. Q: With that crap on his arm, where do you throw at Bonds?
  13. Trade Rumors / Proposals" -- is there something they were missing about this title when they tried to blame bf.net? Honestly, anyone that tries to pass blame over here need only look at some of the other threads in the trade rumor forum. I agree - pick out any of the crazy proposals that we've seen out here and someone could "run with it". If a journalist is looking toward BF.net for his breaking news, he probably needs to look at another profession. DM is correct in that we're just a bunch of geeks who love the crew and like to speculate and kick ideas around. If anyone takes this seriously, I may want to sell them a bridge.
  14. That's what's wrong with the world today - no sense of humor. That sign is great. Now I'll probably be banned from BF for expressing my opinion.
  15. And this may actually be the first acknowledgment from DM and NY that Gwynn really is a 5th OF and not future starter. If he's a future starter, you'd send him back down to play regularly. I think they may finally realize that his best role (at any level) is to pinch hit/run and he serves the team better in that role than Gross does. So this could be a positive in the long run.
  16. If they bring back the rabbit, I want to also see Bonnie Brewer WITH the go-go boots and SHORT SHORTS!! And I want her to swat the umpire on the butt with her broom after sweeping third base. Ok, now that may date me a little...... but I'm serious. No rabbit without Bonnie!!!
  17. Does anybody know why he was disposed of? Yes, because it was ridiculously stupid and cooler heads prevailed. It was so moronic it made us the laughing stock of the world. It was worse than those damn wedges of cheese someone thought of and now we get to see them every time there's ONE in a crowd of 60,000. This was one of many examples of Wendy "hyphenated name's" BAD ideas. I don't ever want to see that scary rabbit around Miller Park again. We don't need something so stupid to rally the crowd (which is what we needed when we were losing 140 games a season). Bring back the beer barrel!!!
  18. I think I predicted 78-84 before the season started and everyone scoffed. I believe that still may be a pretty good guess, which I agree will disappoint many including me. Since going 24-10 to start the season, they've gone 30-32. I'm not trying to be negative, just realistic. I would be the most excited guy in the world if we hung on this year, but I'm just not convinced we have what it's going to take to do it this year.
  19. I don't disagree that Suppan has been disappointing, but it's not as easy as just dropping him and inserting a rookie SP. There are reasons rookies are rookies - the main one being they've never faced big-league batters before! So, Gallardo, Villy, Parra may all wind up with long, great careers, but is it a risk you take when you have veteran pitchers? There's just a fine balance that's required. And like it or not, with Suppan's contract, he's going to keep taking the ball. Also, it's difficult for everyone to bad-mouth "the owner" for giving him the contract - we've all been waiting years for our owner to step up to the plate with free agents. We can be worried that Suppan isn't living up to the expectations of that contract.
  20. The Crew just won two series. THEY JUST WON TWO SERIES. True enough, but are still only 2 1/2 games up. We figured someone in the division was going to wake up sooner or later and apparently the Cubs have done so. Just doesn't appear the pitching (starters in particular) is as good as expected. Suppan is very worrisome (moreso because of that contract), Capuano (enough said) and Sheets out 4-6 weeks. Gallardo could be a star in the making, but he has only pitched a very short time in the big leagues. Bush is a crapshoot everytime out. Vargas our most consistent starter (enough said there as well). I'm still hanging with them since they are still in first place. But the trend doesn't look very good....
  21. Where was that thread about when the Cubs are going to catch and pass us??? I know it was around here somewhere..... and could be sooner than later, huh?
  22. I've become very concerned about "4 years; $42 mill".......
  23. Bonds' elbow guard is just absurd. It's like a bionic arm. I agree completely and have for the past few years (as long as he's been wearing the damn thing). It's a joke that not many other players would get away with.
