For those still on the defensive of Cameron, proof again tonight why he is not what the Brewers need in the lineup. He continually leaves players on base especially late in the game.
That is what our owner should be questioning. Nelson came in and had a big pinch hit against the Mets. There is absolutely no reason Counsell should have been hitting and Kendall too. Why carry 4 catchers?
Kendall hits late in two innings. Did Brad Nelson shoot Ned's dog after his pinch double against the Mets? And if Ned talks about Week errors, and gives him another free pass...
Can Bill Hall pull a Chad Johnson and have his named changed to Black Hole? Why is he starting? The Brewers bring Gamel up and claim Lamb but yet start one of the worst hitters against RH pitching. Managerial book for dummies is not available again for Ned.
I've compared Yost to Sherman since 2006 on this site and got flamed for it. The way Yost refuses to pinch hit for Kendall is about ready make me wanna kick the guy squarely in the groin. I mean, please Ned, Kendall does not give you the best chance to get a runner in scoring position with 2 outs.
This talk of last year is all good and all, but the point is that Melvin did little to fix this years pen. It would've been more valuable to have brought Leinbrink back than to have taken the picks. For those arguing about the value, Leinbrink on our staff this year might have been more valuable. There's no question when you look at what our BP has done so far even with pitchers that have worked late into games.
The sad part is that a RH pitcher was going today w/ great batting average against coming into this year. I am curious what went through Ned's head filling out the lineup card today?
What? Lamb hasn't even played yet. Helms PT dropped big time once other options arrived. And is Counsell really worse than the other options now? Hall has been pretty good at defense this year, and Counsell is always steady. I take it you missed two years ago when Hart was up and we got to see Jenkins and Mench stinking it up regularly before he finally got playing time as a full timer last year.
Problem with 60 yard dashes is that if you multiply 60 x 3 = 180 feet. Home plate to first = 90 feet then factoring in the time to get out of the hitting motion and start running. In no way is Hardy even close to Braun, Hart, and Weeks.
If 10 million dollars is not stealing for what Gagne has done, I would like someone to tell me what stealing is? 37.1 IP w/ 44 hits, 11 homers, 20 walks, and 7 blown saves. He has an ERA of 6.69. 10 million dollars? The contract Melvin gave him was absolutely absurb and was thievery. The guy was a trainwreck signing especially with the HGH clout already hanging over his head before the announcement came. He was down right brutal to end last year's season and I still have no idea what anyone in Brewers management was doing at the end of last year.
Don't forget, Melvin also had planned Turnbow as his closer coming into the season also. That also adds more fuel to the trainwreck that was our BP. Riske, Gags, Riske, Turnbow, and Mota....talk about a disaster.
For those questioning Gagne hasn't done anything wrong? Let's see 10 million dollars with an ERA around 7 blowing the first game to start this losing streak and being a trainwreck of a signing? I liked him better on the DL, didn't that start our winning ways? You are dang right people should boo. We are on the verge of our first playoff appearance in 26 years and Gagne is the one of the main reasons we aren't in first place right now with the horrific attempts at closing and being te 8th inning guy. Did I mention he earns 10 million dollars? HE IS STEALING! If you did not do your job at work, would you get paid like that? BTW, I suppose all of your were clapping when the inning was over, after he blew another lead? Why cos the inning was over.
Regardless, I was screaming WHY IN THE HECK WAS SHOUSE NOT IN WITH LH HITTING COMING UP AND MOTA WARMING IN THE PEN? The managerial for dummies book lists when to pitch Gagne see..... #10345 Bring in Eric Gagne only at game 150 or later if division/wildcard is clinched with a 10 run lead
