  1. I really hate the Yankees and their "God created us" attitude. Sabathia... I lost a bit of respect with those comments. Guess he is a "true" Yankee now.
  2. Plus, the bullen has quietly become very effective this year, so why not take advantage of it? Save for a couple of pitchers, the bullpen has pitched great!
  3. This drives me nuts! Now I hear Provus doing the same on the radio. I heard Provus do it as well. I end up asking myself, what event would preclude the on deck hitter from batting when there are zero outs in the inning? It just strikes me as being lazy and unprofessional, especially when you do it over and over and over. I can see slipping once in a while, they are human after all. But with BA, its ingrained in his vernacular.
  4. IMO, they can replace BA with Charlie Brown's parents and it would be an improvement. I've listened to every other broadcast team, and BA/Rock are bottom 5 imo. BA just doesn't know the game, and it is very transparent. I hate the Cubs, but Casper and Brenly are light years ahead of Ba/Rock. I hate being jealous of the Cubs, and this is the only thing for which I am jealous. BTW, I'm not talking about the sound of anyone's voice. I am talking about the words that come out of their mouths. The words are to what I pay attention, and I don't really care what the tone is or how their voice sounds. Similarly, I can't stand Mike Greenberg. He doesn't seem to even know sports with what comes out of his mouth.
  5. One of my favorite BA comments is when with nobody out, he says, "[insert guy on deck] would be next." Actually Brian, he will be next. Another is the constant use of the word "flare," even using it as a verb sometimes! I wish TBS would somehow take him full time. I'm done with him. At least Darren Sutton knew the game of baseball.
  6. Haha, way too young to be on Doug's radar.Geoff Jenkins, then. Now we're talking!
  7. Sssssshhh! Doug will hear you! Of course, Eric is only 34, and you don't want a spring chicken out there.Haha, way too young to be on Doug's radar.
  8. Mitch Stetter pitches for the Nashville Sounds.I believe he was being facetiousYeah, it was a rhetorical question http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  9. The fact that Macha never has a hook for Hawkins is very troubling. It was clear he couldn't throw anything other than his underpowered fastball for a strike, and he was even struggling with getting that over. Why didn't he put Stetter in to face Ethier?
  10. Yeah, Melvin put the Brewers on the hook for ONLY $4 million for Hawkins next year. The Brewers are becoming a go to charity for old washed-up big leaguers.
  11. Macha and his Mercurial Men or Key to Volatility or Team Do or Die!
  12. This guy just never gets old. Too bad he's not still with the Cubs. I think its gotten old, but I do wish he was still with the Cubs.
  13. "The knee looks like it's alright," as Gomez clearly favors the leg and starts grimacing. Can we have some accountability with these announcers? I highly doubt Ernie Harwell (RIP) "mentored" this guy.
  14. Pujols and A-Rod?
  15. I believe that was the motivation behind Beane signing him. He took the gamble that he would be legitimate trade bait at the deadline. He has a ways to go, but could get there with just 3 or 4 solid starts prior to the deadline.
  16. Not only is Prince not playing like a $25MM per year player, he simply isn't a $25MM per year player. I don't think he is even a $20MM a year player. $17-18MM seems reasonable, especially considering his bad defense.
  17. So which one of the pitchers gets to speak up and tell DM to get some more hitting help because the offense sucks? While this would be awesome, I would think the pitching staff should wait until it has a sub 5.00 ERA and gets that opponents OPS under .800 before it starts spouting off about getting some hitting.
  18. Burgos blows the save and serves up a walk-off HR in the 10th.
  19. I wouldn't read to much into what sheets does this year. At $10MM for one year, I bet A's fans are reading plenty into what Sheets is doing this year.
  20. To me, it seems like Macha has sucked the identity out of this team. The team has become an extension of Macha, which is predictably not fun to watch. Then again, Macha may very well be an extension of Melvin. This team makes me want to take a nap. Boring and dabbling in pathetic.
  21. He gave up 3 HR yesterday as well. Was that the worst outing of his career?
