  1. I forgot about the #90 bus. I have done that from work downtown a few times to meet up at the tailgate. Stops every two blocks or so right along Wisconsin Ave.
  2. 19-0 would be the worst shutout ever suffered by they Pirates.
  3. 11 games and 45 at bats isn't enough to prove he has. I never said it has been proven, but it certainly can be anticipated.
  4. Zaun has been a .700+ OPS guy that last five years. He's going through a slump right now. He will be better. I don't understand the hyperventilating about his performance thus far. He's 38 years old. He is ready to fall off the proverbial cliff in terms of MLB production.
  5. You're talking about a guy that still refers to the 3rd guy due up in an inning being "in the hold" and calls bases cushions and outfield walls barriers. The mystery is what does TBS see in him? He appears to not even like baseball.
  6. Can we bring the Pirates back to Miller Park for this weekend's series?
  7. Watched the Fielder HR highlight, and it seems that Brian will never grasp when a ball is crushed vs. when its a routine fly. He's seen more games than I have, and he just doesn't get it.
  8. Can't really complain about Diego's production so far this year.
  9. I'd take a shuttle to miller park from one of the bars. Perhaps Mos Irish Pub off of Wisconsin downtown. This would be my recommendation. Save the cab fare. Also, Walker's point taverns The Dubliner, Steny's, and Fat Daddy's have good food and drink (plenty of good drafts), and also have shuttles (2nd and National).
  10. Sill no Brewers in HD from DISH.
  11. Anyone catch what Bill said after Duke was caught off second on the grounder to Escobar? It was classic, as he said Duke violated the unwritten rule of running on a ground ball hit in front of him. I always wondered if baseball fundamentals were considered unwritten rules. Thanks to our great broadcasting team, now I know. As for DISH, this is beyond frustrating. The rep just ran through a bunch of diagnostics, unnecessarily, and came to the conclusion that DISH Network does not guarantee all the broadcasts will be in HD. She admitted it is a DISH issue, and not a Fox Sports issue. I'm done with the Dish.
  12. Haven't all the managers received the memo from Tony? Batting the pitcher 8th is over with.
  13. Well, maybe Big Z is just saving it up for that 4th place Cy Young finish in 2012. That would be super awesome.
  14. Are they signing someone? Looper? Link Edit: Ah, I missed the Lilly part. Hope Ted is rusty on Saturday.
  15. Compared to what I am prepared to see on Saturday, Dave Bush looked like the second coming of Frank Viola out there last night.
  16. DISH Network! Not only have they been failing to get me the Brewers in HD this year, but today I checked my recent statement online only to find out they billed me $300 for a receiver I returned to them almost 3 months ago. So I called, and they told me the receiver was returned damaged. They claim the main board inside the box was cracked, and the receiver no longer functioned. This is completely contrary to the documented service call I put in with them originally. What happened originally? The hard disk that supports the DVR feature failed. The receiver still worked to receive channels, but I could not record, rewind, pause, etc. So part of the reason I pay the $6 a month for a service plan finally pays off. DISH sends me a new receiver, and I send them the old one. I get confirmation they received the old one and all is good. Or is it? I know this for sure, the main board did not crack on my watch. The receiver was working when I sent it in. After about 45 minutes on the phone, they offered to credit half of the $150. Since this is set to be paid in May, I told them I will not be paying any of it. I was fully prepared to call AMEX to block my auto pay to DISH. Then the rep finally told me they will reverse the entire charge, so all seems to be good? Or is it? I have read on numerous forums that DISH tells the customers they will reverse the charge for this similar issue, but the charge never gets reversed. The customer is charged and then has no recourse once DISH has the money. Will this happen to me? I will follow up. If it does, hello U-verse. Its now available to me, and for an extra $10 a month compared to what I am paying now, I could have: 60 more channels, 4 tuners to record multiple programming at once, HD on all 3 of my HD TVs (rather than on just one right now), and local customer service. Its starting to look like a no brainer for me.
  17. Except in his last game Davis had I think 2 pitches crushed and he walked none I'm pretty sure he walked at least one on Sunday.
  18. Just recently got DISH in the Madison area and have often been unable to find an HD feed. Anyone else have a similar problem? Yes. I have put two calls into them now, and have completed one phone survey about the calls. Bottom line, I had to rate the service terrible across the board. The person didn't know what channels I actually subscribe to, tried to tell me I need a different package twice, and then I get an email an hour later stating my package has changed due to my request. We'll see tomorrow, but I'm not liking the chances of us retaining Dish for much longer. This isn't the first time I have had issues with the Brewers broadcast. There was a game last year for which they didn't even provide the feed. I told them I was going to spread the word about my dissatisfaction, so here I am. Hurry up AT&T and get that U-verse cranking in my neighborhood.
  19. Tom Haudricourt | JS Staff - Apr 20, 2010 3:32 PM Jonathan Lucroy was promoted to Nashville because Angel Salome went on the voluntary inactive list to return home for the birth of a baby. Salome left last week when his wife supposedly was ready to give birth but it was a false alarm and he rejoined the team. Well, apparently this time, she's really going to have the baby, so he went back to New York again. Because Lucroy has been playing so well in Huntsville, the Brewers thought this would be a good time to promote him and let him play some games at the Triple-A level.
  20. Why should it necessarily cost the Reds anything? Easy, I didn't say it SHOULD cost the Reds anything. I simply stated it won't.
  21. Ok, what am I missing?Edison Volquez suspesion for PEDs Stan Kyles surgery to remove cancer.
