  1. That's fine. The point is that for the right offer, he should be considered tradeable. If that's the point, then I would have to assume everyone is tradeable. So what's the point again?
  2. To sell high.Hard to tell if his value is at its peak, but selling Fielder would likely close a large paned window of opportunity to contend for a title. Half of his offensive production would be difficult to replace, much less all of it. Unless you can get a #1 and a #3 starting pitcher in return, I don't see how trading him could be considered a step in the right direction at this point.
  3. Maybe this latest incident will inspire the team to consider trading Fielder for pitiching during the off-season. I most certainly hope not! I think if you go back and watch the Parra/Fielder dustup you will see Parra whip his towel... What he said. Fielder is passionate and will not back down from anybody. He is far from an uncontrollable rage machine. He is actually a positive force in the clubhouse. Why on Earth would anyone think of trading such a player (unless he is in his last year of team control and the said team is out of the playoff picture)?
  4. I am thinking 2011 will be the Brewers year to make a run. There are too many bad handcuffing contracts (approx $28 million for Hall, Riske, and Suppan) for Melvin to deal with next year, so his free agent options will be limited. If Hardy has value and can net some much needed pitching he needs to be moved. I don't see how his value will net any kind of difference maker, however. So I wouldn't be surprised to see Hardy back next year. Hart will be more likely to return, simply because the Brewers don't have any better options in RF at the moment.
  5. Who do we use as the standup mannequin with removable clothes?Maybe Alice Wolterman? Or one of Torre's 3 daughters, depending on their ages I suppose.
  6. Does anyone actually think he's even that good of a writer? You wonder how long the JS will even stick with the guy. He seems to struggle with basic grammar and sentence structure on the blog, but so does TH. Tom attributes it to writing fast to get the info out, AW does not address posters (for the wiser I think). The fact that Witrado is a raging Dodger fan did not help Prince out at all. Hopefully Torre pays for this with some bad karma, Witrado gets tar and feathered in the Sausage Haus, and the Crew goes Major League and win the division to spite Rachel Phelps.
  7. Speaking of flatulence and Hart's recovery, hopefully they are keeping the Kellogg's Fiber Plus bars away from him. These things are brutal, yet I keep eating them.
  8. A Green Man usually is pretty funny. Takes a funny person to do it.
  9. I agree. I read it and thought it was worth it. Too bad the author was bullied.
  10. Was it a Green Man, as popularized by Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia? Great episode. Green Man
  11. The thought of Gerut in CF full-time for the Brewers next year makes me just as ill as thinking about Gabe Gross in CF full-time. I really hope Melvin doesn't subject me to a summer-long illness. Hopefully Cam will give it one more go for a discounted price of around $6-7 million.
  12. Save a few hot weeks the past two years, because other than those Hardy is a below average SS.
  13. I definitely felt better about him at the plate that inning than Kendall before him.So did I. Never thought he would buzz the pitcher with a line drive though. That threw Gaudin for the rest of the game.
  14. He made the 1st and last out in the same inning for the 3rd time this year. And when I looked up Hardy's fangraph page, for the first time I am questioning the data they are using to come up with the numbers. I am starting to think their numbers do not reflect plays he should make (according to my standard of SS defense) that he is not making. For example, I doubt his UZR figure will suffer due to him not being able to get his glove down on his backhand side (4th inning tonight).
  15. To be fair to Looper, if it wasn't for him this game would likely be 6-0 right now.
  16. Another stellar AB for Hardy. Look at the two strikes and then swing at the two balls. Why change the 2009 MO when its working so well?
  17. I have had this battle with people many times before. I have disliked hime for a couple years at least. He is a below average hitter with ok defense. The day he is traded will be a good day for me. People tend to look the other way on JJ for some reason when he doesnt hit or plays bad defense. No idea why seeing he has never really been a big star or anything. Or maybe that is why. But I really can't stand him at all. Its because he hit 20+ HRs 2 years in a row. People like that, and they like it to the grave sometimes. Is this game really going to be another complacent with an early lead game!?
  18. Hate's a pretty strong wordYeah, not sure how he deserves to be hated. Its not like he's out killing people or anything. But I am strongly wishing he was traded in the off season during his peak in value. He makes moderately hard plays look difficult and difficult plays look impossible. Not to mention he can't hit for crap all year.
  19. JJ with his hard hitting line drives helping the Brewers out again. Oh wait... JJ with his plus defense bailing the Brewers out again. Oh wait... How does JJ not have negative value this year?
  20. So is he ready to pitch?
  21. The Mets are 3 games under .500 and have suffered injuries many times of those the Brewers have suffered. It still doesn't take away from them having a disappointing season. It is not amazing to me the Brewers are at .500. To me the Brewers have three studs, a couple nice surprises (Counsell and Mcgehee), a few steadies (Hoffman, Coffey, Stetter, Cameron, Kendall?), and a boatload of underachieving disappointments (Hardy, Hart, Suppan, Looper, Parra, Gerut, Villanueva & Hall). When the majority of a team is a disappointment, I would say that overall the team is having a disappointing 2009. Just my opinion, but I never point to injuries or previous year results to curb my expectations. Iffa (injuries) coulda (pitched better) with Weeks, Bush, etc all sound like excuses in my book. Name another team out there that hasn't suffered a significant injury this year. Just so I get this right, the optimism shown at the end sounds like a prognostication. Do you really want to predict the Brewers will go 5-1 in SD and LA? I am pretty sure that has never happened in Brewer history.
  22. Maybe Walt is still on the Cards payroll, and is just in Cincinnati to acquire aging, overpaid players to set them back a while.
  23. Not a personal attack, but your sarcasm is getting very old. I just wanted to say I enjoyed it Brewcrew. I am completely underwhelmed, much like how a Rangers fan must feel right now.
  24. If that is all Cabrera brought, I am lowering my expectations on the return for Hardy. Although I believe Cabrera is a rental.
  25. Welcome back, Mike Burns. Anyone else hear the loud thud?
