  1. The Brewers have been on a GIDP binge the last couple weeks. I can recall back to back games this past week where they bounced into 3 each game.
  2. Sounds like a form of home field advantage to me. Although it doesn't seem to be working as well this year, we need to keep the Hilton and Hyatt booked up.
  3. I agree with you 100%. Bill Hall wants to stay in Milwaukee. He could be whining and complaining about his lack of playing time, but he is not. Billy is "keeping his mouth shut" because he doesn't want to bring on the 130 dB booing that would ensue if he did. Bill Hall, meet reality. Reality, Bill Hall. Now that you two have met, maybe you can work on not sucking. Be it best 3B in the league or not, Bill Hall sucks. He has for years now. To have this kind of unfounded confidence is borderline schizophrenic. Grow up Bill, start realizing your offensive limitations, and ADJUST!! Thank you anyway Bill, for yet another forum in which to vent your profound, long lasting, and continued sucking.
  4. logan - i was there and witnessed the event first hand. It was like vertigo, or sussudio, or something else beyond my comprehension. There was no doubt in my mind after that happened I would be walking toward the exit in pure frustration mode.
  5. I would have to respectfully disagree. He needs to be replaced. He is not effective in any situation right now. Contending teams (yeah I still believe), do not have room for this type of non-production.
  6. Dale Sveum career stats: Batting Average .236 Home Runs 69 RBI 340 Yeah, that seems about to where his instruction is trending this team.
  7. They should just forfeit the rest of the game and start praying for a win against the Dodgers. I can't wait to be there tomorrow for Mike Burns vs. the Dodgers. Should be a good one. I meant Saturday. I will be there for both. Looper vs. Billingsley should be just as much fun.
  8. CV lets us down again. He's not good in the 8th inning role.
  9. My wife has written to Jim Stingl and gotten a response the same day Was it critical of his writing?
  10. Its pretty much a wast of time writing to any tenured opinion columnist for any paper. They get hundreds of letters and emails that they never read, because frankly they don't care. The only thing that would get the attention of Hunt, Kane, etc. would be a job threatening scandal.
  11. I always thought of Hunt as a casual fan. He is a journalist who just so happens to write about sports. Similar to Bill Michaels on 620, Hunt doesn't seem to express a hardcore-fan type knowledge about any sport he reports on.
  12. ... if that goes well he is on track to be back with the Brewers for the series against Pittsburgh July 20th. Hope things go well for Bush, the Crew needs him in top form for August and Sept. Also good to see the Pirates nearing on the schedule.
  13. What exactly were you disagreeing with? Baseball economics (I would say pro sports in general) are different than any other business? Braun makes more money than the GM? Braun is more vital to the Brewers success than DM? The only thing I would disagree with is that Braun probably doesn't see DM as his boss per se. Most likely Braun probably feels like he is his own boss, since he will get paid no matter what if he plays the game of baseball at a high level. I would go as far as to say there is no power structure in baseball. It is an assembly of interworking parts that assist each other to acheive the goal of entertaining people and winning games. Edit - I meant there is no power structure between the players and any form of management. Sort of like any union shop.
  14. I suspect this upcoming series will be huge -- if we go 2-1, 3-0 over the Cards, this will probably be forgotten -- if we get swept, and are 4 GB after the series, the Yost could hit the fan. I think this all depends on how far Braun feels like going to defend his comments. He can squash this immediately at the ballpark today by retracting all or parts of his comments, and issue Doug some type of apology. Braun is on serve here, its his move. Will he squash it, or will he end up knee high in Yost? P.S. I see at least three mods letting me know about some rule existing that bans the use of Yost as anything other than the last name of the Brewers previous manager. Section 9075, article Q clearly states...
  15. I would like to see Gamel play every game against the Cards. He found some success against them at Busch, and maybe the Brewers can develop a redbird killer here. Counsell with 2 days off, and McGehee one day off. Although, Gamel did go 0-7 w/ 3 Ks against them at Miller back in May. Its time to show up or go back.
  16. At least Melvin hit on McGehee to make the sucking of Bill Hall more tolerable. Its too bad really, but it seems that Bill Hall has run out of MLB usefulness. I fear that Corey Hart is right behind him.
  17. I was just coming on here to post this same thing. At least Corey had the right approach against an ailing Zambrano. Hopefully one run is enough to stave off the inevitable whiplash effect of not scoring with bases loaded and nobody out. I was expecting Suppan to get tagged in the bottom half had they not scored.
  18. I would love to see a couple 12-10 type Brewer victories over the weekend. Two out of four would be great for me, three would be outstanding, and four... I could finally forget last year at Miller.
  19. What a shell of a team. If Looper can't get on track tonight, I doubt he ever will.
  20. Good for Gwynn would require him doing well lately, which he hasn't. I mean seriously a small BABIP blip doesn't mean anything and he has stunk for the last week+. TGJ has not been great the last 7 games, but is still trending OK in SD and has favorable offensive numbers over Cameron for the same time period. Edit: But not completely favorable over Cam, as TGJ's OBP kills the complete argument. Still more R, RBI, and better slugging at a meager .320.
  21. While not everybody would have predicted that the Muscle would have hit as well as he has this year I think the only unpredictable notion was whether he can actually play the whole year. This is still unpredictable, but he's looking strong almost half way through.
