  1. This is a valid opinion. Rickie turns the DP!! Baby steps.
  2. I won't complain today, but some people might point to Rickie's consistant ability to botch routine double plays.
  3. Sure, though he shouldn't lead off but that's a far more second order concern. That is where he would fit in the template. You can't mess with the template.
  4. The bottom line is Craig Counsell should not be starting on this team right now. Not now, and barring an injury, not for the rest of the season.
  5. Counsell over Branyan over and over and over and over again is mind blowing to me. I would seriously like to know the rationale going into this manager's decisions. Good thing someone gave him the template for the lineup. 2B, SS, LF, 1B, RF, 3B, CF, C, P. Just plug in the players Ned and you're good to go. Anyway, go get a win boys. I have a feeling we are going to need a solid game from Hart to get the W.
  6. Some people seem pretty convinced Ned Yost is doing a great job and has somehow proved himself because the team is 16 games over .500 and lead the wild card. Ned's team hasn't won anything yet. I hope to God I have the opportunity to go to a NLCS game this year. But given the track record of Ned's game management, I wouldn't place any money on the team getting that far. I am convinced this team is not the same old Brewer team we have seen the last 25+ years. It does help their biggest competition to make the playoffs is St. Louis. The '87 and '92 teams finished with 91 and 92 wins respectively and ended up sitting home. Thanks to the addition of the WC in '95, those same number of wins now gives the 4th team a very good chance of playing in the post season. I think the "Same old Brewers" mentality this year is a product of Ned's teams collapsing down the stretch the past few seasons. A favorable schedule and two staff aces should get them over the hump this year. But if your manager is unable to take a reliever out of the game when its clear he needs to be taken out of the game, the postseason schedule will tear him apart. Edit: In addition, please feel free to fill me in on what my realistic expectation should be. Because right now I really don't konw what they should be. 90 wins? 84? 95? Please help me, I can't handle not knowing how many wins we will have this year.
  7. Why bring up Yost in this thread? The manager should have made a pitching change in the 8th inning today - very, very valid complaint. The Brewers should be 25 games over .500, sort of like the Rays. This isn't all on Ned, but to say there is nothing to complain about... The Brewers are playing good right now. Great? Not until they atone for the Cubs debacle. I am still very optimistic on the Brewers chances of making the playoffs. My fear lies in what they do when they finally get there.
  8. I kinda agree. It's incredible that the Brewers are still in this game considering how bad they've played for most of the afternoon, but I'll take it. Honestly, any team that has Belliard playing first base, and Austin Kearns batting clean-up should automatically forfeit before the game starts. So they are actually just playing this one for fun, as the Brewers have already won. If I was a Cubs fan, I would wait until after their team plays the Nats before I start talking smack.
  9. Great game for Hardy, nothing like taking 1 strike and turning it into 3. Unless of course you do it 3 times in one day. That is always special.
  10. Bill Hall was completely guessing that whole AB.
  11. Is it possible to have a Yosting, even if the Brewers end up winning?
  12. Way to go Mike Rivera, you are my new favorite Brewer until Braun is back. Too bad Richie used up his 4 monthly hits all in one game. Would have been nice to have one of those hits right there.
  13. If I was there, I wouldn't be booing Gagne, I would be booing Ned Yost.
  14. Ned letting Gagne throw 35 pitches that inning with an entire bullpen of rested arms is completely unacceptable. Ned Yost will never learn how to manage the bullpen. My friend said it right last night at the game... Ned Yost is managing one hell of a game, because he doesn't have to do anything. This is the only way he can manage, if he doesnt have to do anything. Once he needs to get a read on how a pitcher is doing, it all goes to crap. A 12 pitch AB which is won by the opposing batter with a ground rule double is a HUGE red flag waving you right in the face. Ned didn't even flinch. He just threw on his patented smirk and started thinking of smart ass crap to say in the post game presser.
  15. Good God Ned, you sure know how to let the ship sink as fast as humanly possible. Ever think of having two pitchers ready going into the 8th?
  16. I was hoping Ned would have pulled Gagne after that 12 pitch AB. I knew bad things were coming.
  17. What a way for the no hitter to end. A flare to center, ha.
  18. That might be all the Nationals need as long as Lannan's NO HITTER keeps going.
  19. Good hustle out of the box Richie. Good to see you doing your best to help the team to a victory today.
  20. Manny with 61 pitches thrown through 5 IP, 45 for strikes. Lannan with 63 pitches thrown through 4 IP, 38 for strikes. Also, Lannan has a NO HITTER through 4 IP. Can he get through 5 with the NO HITTER in tact?
  21. Lannan with a solid 4 innings of NO HIT baseball. I wonder how long he can keep up this NO HIT pace at Miller Park.
  22. Parra appreciates all these extra chances to throw pitches Rickie. Way to get the basics done once again.
  23. You may see another homer But it's not the only one I hope to see three more home runsAnd the Brewers sure to have won
  24. Parra, you better pitch a complete game shutout or Prince is going to kick your ass real bad this time. Oh yeah, you also need at least one rbi. Good luck, #3.
