  1. Thanks for the quick hook Ned, its not like they weren't crushing everything Riske was throwing. Oh wait, yeah the were.
  2. Ummmmm... time for another pitcher Ned? dextermorgan Did you see what Villanueva did? I don't blame Albert I'm not surprised coming from this dude. Clearly, Villy was shouting toward Kendall who made the catch to end the inning. Unless dexter is at the game, then he might have a better angle to the shout. Ned!!! Get. Riske. Out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. St. Louis may be a tad frustrated. I love it. Who is Ned's guy to put one in Pujols ribs next inning? I'd go with McClung, just for nostalgia's sake.
  4. Glaus shouldn't even be in there right now. He should have been rung during his little crap fit after his 3rd K.
  5. Thanks Bill, I couldn't quite figure out that if the Brewers didn't score that one run in the 3rd it would only be a 2-1 game. Very insightful Bill, I can see why they pay you.
  6. Rickie is terrible. I wish he would be riding the pine. Too bad Doug couldn't have landed Roberts, Rickie is a playoff liability. I am pretty sure I saw a stat that showed the Cubs pitcher spot is producing better than Rickie this year.
  7. Let's go Reds! Get some runs! Or not.
  8. This all depends on what Houston offers him. They have a ton of salary down there. How much more can they afford? If the difference is $3 or $4+ million per year to pitch somewhere else, I have to believe Sheets will take the somewhere else for the extra cash. His agent and the players union will not let him leave that kind of change on the table.
  9. Obviously, evey hitter should swing at the first pitch. "Cameron is batting .244. But when he has a one-pitch plate appearance, he averages .419 (13 for 31), the best on the team. The league average in that category last season was .344."
  10. Actually it's been 74% of his plate appearances, not just half a season, but don't the let the truth spoil a good rant. If you are allowed to cherry pick certain PA's, you can make Rickie's numbers look downright scary. If you take out his 95 K's and 24 other non-producing AB's, for a total of 119 (26% of total PA's), Rickie is batting an astoundng .330/.519/.548!! I can see why some are so high on his upside, he has been simply amazing in 74% of his PA's.
  11. Didn't we just try that at the end of July? From July 21-July 30, Hall started 9 of 10 games. In that stretch, he went 7/35 (.200 avg), .255 obp, with 3 rbi and 11 K. If you take out the first game of that stretch, he went 4/30 with 10 K. I know that's an extremely small sample size, but it's on par (or below) what he's done the whole year.Yeah, I don't see how anyone can have "no doubt" that Hall would start hitting all of a sudden. Didn't he pretty much play every day for the first month and a half? I have doubts about him hitting any time he comes to the dish. Its very disappointing, because I like him. He just isn't consistantly good, just like Rickie Weeks. Smells like super-utility was his calling.
  12. 1:20 - Reds (0.0%) @ Cubs (99.2%) - J. Fogg (2-5, 7.71) vs. C. Zambrano (12-5, 3.38) I saw this same pitching matchup in person at Wrigley back in April. Needless to say, I don't have much faith in a different outcome today than what happened in that game. Josh Fogg sucks, someone please tell the Brewers that.
  13. Bill Hall is a liability.
  14. Bill Hall has now struck out 103 times in 337 AB. He had 103 K's in 501 ABs during he 2005 campaign. He will no doubt suck next year too before having his second career year in 2010 (contract year).
  15. Is there an 8th inning guy explosion coming up? Edit: I'm on gameday also, stupid internet not getting me the information real time enough.
  16. Any pitcher who throws 4 straight fastballs to Rickie Weeks should be DFA'd immediately. Edit: Hope you liked the Bigs Wright. Way to keep the HR derby going JJ!
  17. Two hits against W-Rod?!?! Maybe some people here were right, my expectations for this team are way too high right now. Its time to start hating on the Brewers playoff chances, or more important hating on their chances of not embarrassing themselves if they do get in.
  18. Why risk injury of any kind (fatigue related or not) to your stud pitcher with 2 innings of garbage time? If our bullpen cannot close out a win for 2 innings with a 6 run lead, we have problems. I would trust Mota/Gagne to get that job done.
  19. Larger point yet... why risk injury of any kind (fatigue related or not) to your stud pitcher with 2 innings of garbage time? If our bullpen cannot close out a win for 2 innings with a 6 run lead, we have problems. I would trust Mota/Gagne to get that job done.
  20. That's a 6'7", 300 pound, grown-ass man out there. He can handle it. Sure he can handle it, but he shouldn't have had to in garbage time. Its a waste.
  21. The point is, CC did not need to be out there. Its not like he was protecting a 2 run lead. The game was well in hand and it was garbage time. Why further fatigue your prize starter during garbage time? Whether he said he wanted to be out there or not, the question should not have even been asked. Someone else should have thrown the 9th at least, if not the 8th as well.
  22. Ray Durham himself says he can't play everyday anymore. Starting one over the other wouldn't cost the Brewers even one game the rest of the way. He's having a nice night, but let's not get crazy, 2 of his hits were groundballs that found holes. Pretty crazy what can happen when you actually hit the ball.
