  1. MIL is 1-9 in Bush's last 10 home starts. MIL is 3-14 in Bush's last 17 starts vs. CHC.
  2. The obvious move that needs to be made (firing of Doug Melvin) isn't likely to happen. He's too close to the owner. So we can only hope that Melvin's luck turns around sharply. I'm not so sure Melvin is completely safe. Wolf, Davis, Hawkins and Macha just might end up getting him fired. None of us are sure what Attanasio's threshold is, but it can't be unlimited can it?
  3. Give him time, at this pace he could easily be in FRONT of Suppan and Hammonds.
  4. I think the Brewers are a better team than their record, I still don't think they are a playoff caliber team though. Playoffs? Playoffs? Are you kidding me? Playoffs? Don't talk about playoffs!
  5. Uhhh, yeah. Wolf sucks. Left-handed Suppan, officially.
  6. Love Byrd now. Clearly should have caught that but was deked by the wall.
  7. I am about ready to jump on the "Wolf is the left-handed Suppan" bandwagon. Yeah I know, gotta give him 3 years to see what he's got. Yawn.
  8. Just to be clear, that is indeed Bill Schroeder's son. And they followed that pick by taking Marques Kyles, the son of bullpen coach Stan Kyles, in the next round. Marques is a 6'9" (!) LHP.Proving there are way too many rounds in the June Amateur Draft.
  9. If the Brewers are an 81 win true talent team they can easily win 72 games or win 90 games while playing to their talent. Isn't that only if their variance is 100% bad (72 wins) or good (90) luck? What are the chances that variance slides in one direction so heavily? Usually a team is lucky one day and unlucky another day. I don't by a 20 game swing in wins can be explained by variance, or luck.
  10. I was thinking 2011, because he will not have been in the organization for 5 years until June of that year.
  11. Per TH Starting in Wisconsin. I'd like to see him. EDIT: good question posted over there in the comments. Does anyone know when Jeffress needs to be placed on the 40-man to be protected from Rule 5?
  12. The new Frontier Airline radio commercials are just awful. I don't see how they will have any positive effect on ridership. A voice repeating the words "Frontier Airline" for 15 seconds would be more effective.
  13. It does come down to Hoffman, and if we are counting on him to climb back into the closer role and put up zeros, the season is over. Axford is the ninth inning guy, Hoffman is riding it out for a paycheck. As for luck, bad pitching and bad defense will give you bad baseball. The team is just bad. Can they turn it around? Sure. Suppan is out of sight out of mind, finally. Hoffman is the new mop up guy. Parra and Narveson are in the rotation as they should have been from day one. They need an 8-10 game winning streak however, and seeing how they have not even won four (4) in a row yet this year, its going to take a remarkable turn of events. I really believe Macha has this team sleepwalking through the season. I mean, he has me sleepwalking through it.
  14. Incredible. This 21 year-old is the REAL deal. Karstens is pitching well also, and has been squeezed a few more times than Strasburg. 100mph with an 89mph hammer. If he stays healthy he's going to have an amazing career.
  15. I'm wondering if Hawkins will ever pitch again. Melvin sure was shooting fish in a barrel this year when it came to 35+ year-old players who will collect their final paycheck on his boss' dime.
  16. I think that was three runs on six hits. Silva 8-0. Jack Z. Burned by Hendry.
  17. And also quality journalism. This guy just seems like a total clown.Completely. He appears to make things up on the fly without actually thinking through what he is saying. Hating the team and the town, he probably really hates his job, and it shows.
  18. I was a bit concerned about the single strikeout his last outing. Can't remember too many of those games for Sheeter. Definitely will be following his game tonight.
  19. I support his release, but are the Brewers any better than they were when I woke up this morning? No. Well, Smith is Suppan's replacement, so yes the Brewers are better than they were yesterday.
  20. Quotes like this are the reason I've lost faith in Melvin... like FA was his only choice? Instead of signing the best value the Brewers can afford maybe he should just admit to himself that the FA pitching market stinks for a team like Milwaukee. Why spend money just to spend it badly? That's one thing I've never understood, why max out the payroll simply because we can? This one hurt as well... Melvin: "I am confident that he can return to a starting rotation with another organization." Well, I am confident Melvin will never get the Brewers back to the playoffs. I am more confident in my confidence that in Doug's.
  21. Yeah, Witrado is just flat out against Manny. To me its fairly clear that Witrado is against the Brewers and the city of Milwaukee altogether.
  22. Macha's gum chewing makes me want to go down to the dugout, rip the piece of gum out of his mouth and exclaim, "If you can't refrain from chewing gum like a horse, you are not going to chew gum." At least its keeping him awake I guess.
