  1. Imagine if Stearns had passed on Cain and Yelich because he was worried about having Broxton and Phillips manning CF and Lewis Brinson, Domingo Santana, Ryan Braun and potentially Hernan Perez all needing at bats in the OF...
  2. Maybe Stearns is trying to recreate the Cain/Yelich scenario from last year with trading for Kluber and signing Kuechel on the same day. Maybe?
  3. So if were talking to a friend would I say "You wanna shoot over to American Family presents Selig Field to catch the Brewers this afternoon" or would it be more "Hey, Im at Selig Field watching that Billy Joel concert, thanks for the tickets"
  4. I would love to see Harper go to the Angels. Id watch so many Angels games. That would be so fun..plus out of the National League
  5. My ballot 1. Bonds (hate him, he deserves it though) 2. Clemens (ditto) 3. Mariano 4. Halladay 5. McGriff 6. Edgar 7. Manny Ramirez (like Bonds, if his career ended in 2008 before PED suspensions he is still a HOF) 8. Wagner 9. Mussina 10. Schilling
  6. I am wondering if the website Fangraphs.com is a reliable website for their advanced data projections? I ask because I stumbled upon their 2019 projections and they project the Brewers to finish last in the NL Central in 2019 with a record of 77-85. https://www.fangraphs.com/depthcharts.aspx?position=Standings Anyone have any thoughts on that? Should we expect that much regression?
  7. A pizza is a pizza as soon as you put your fists into the dough!
  8. are car accidents more common in Latin America? Seems like players are being killed every off season.
  9. I too would endorse a trade where we clear a ton of money, don't give up any really good prospects and get rid of the fringes of our 25 man roster. Unfortunately, that's not how this works. Junior Spivey, Lyle Overbay, Craig Counsell, Chris Capuano, Chad Moeller and Jorge De La Rosa say "hi!" Maybe the Brewers could add a Noochie Varner-esque lottery ticket to sweeten the deal.
  10. I listen to 107.5 the fan out of Green Bay on my way to work. Their demographic must be old guys over a certain age. The only and I mean ONLY commercials are for "male enhancement" "low-T" and other drugs and procedures for ED and the commercials insinuate that your wife wont be complaining. Its pathetic. Just recently they began running another commercial for a medication that addresses what sounds like an awful GI issue (commercial starts with a woman talking about how her #2 doesnt look like a #2...is there are a number 3? I dry heave every time I hear it).
  11. Not that I expect anyone here to know, but do you think Giannis leaves in free agency in a couple years?
  12. Fallout from the Brewers/Rockies game on MLB Network: My Charter Spectrum subscription at $186.00/mo did not include MLB Network, so I signed up for YOUTUBE TV 7 day trial. Watched the game. Enjoyed it. Now I am canceling my Charter Cable and phone portion, sticking with broadband only and adding Youtube TV for a total of about $100/mo Will save me at least $86.00 monthly
  13. You meant to tell me that now that the MLB playoffs have started that MLB is going to make it next to impossible for fans in the local market (or almost any other market) to watch the game? Brilliant.
  14. PLayed against Eric Hinske many times. We almost always beat Menasha, but Hinske routinely killed us. I remember a lead off HR he hit that seemed like it was 500 feet at the time.
  15. Cephus is done. There should be little expectation of him returning to the team this year or ever. As far as the case goes, it will most likely come down to whether or not the victims want to testify, but my sense is that after an investigation like this, they are. I would expect a conviction and incarceration if they do. You just cant do what he is alleged to have done to people who are too drunk to consent. He is charged specifically with sexual assault of an intoxicated person. His statement seems to acknowledge a sexual encounter because he says it was a "consensual relationship" On to the season.
  16. Thanks for providing those numbers on registrations ZBTMP. Interesting. I wonder how much of that has to do with Wisconsin never having a professional team, as demographically we are so similar to Minnesota and Michigan. Something in Wisconsin has to give in order to give hockey more exposure - the exposure I think it deserves in this state. When it comes to winter sports we are just such a basketball state I think.
  17. Michigan has 7 Division 1 hockey programs in the state Minnesota has 5 Wisconsin has just 1. Any chance any other school in Wisconsin could become a D1 program? Ever? I admittedly do not know the politics, money, or policy behind those decisions, but needless to say places like UMD and Lake Superior State dont strike me as otherwise D1 schools...so....???
  18. Aguilar to AAA, are you out of your mind?
  19. So let me get this straight. The guy made 38 starts that year and factored into the decision in 35 of them? Wow. A different era back then.
  20. I generally agree with this. We have not one but two PS4s in our house. My son always plays with friends. However, he rarely, if ever asks to do anything with friends in person outside of school or organized sports. He doesnt ask if they can come over or if he can get together with them. On the rare occasion a friend shows up - I find out later that his parents cut off his wi-fi to get him to stop playing fortnite and made him go outside and find someone to hang with...that kid rode his bike over to our house and went into our basement to play Fortnite with my son. Historically games were limited to sports titles in my house (I grew up with every sports video game) but since Fortnite was free it was hard to deny it. With 5 kids between the ages of 14 and 5, I am relatively well connected to their social lives. I can tell you this, parents are beside themselves with this game. Coaches are beside themselves. It is addicting on a whole other level. It is a concern, I will leave it at that.
  21. It's a scourge of humanity. Perhaps the single most addicting game ever released. My kid plays it. We limit his time, everyday, but it is a battle everyday to keep him off it and when we enforce the time limits we are "the only parents that do that!". Every parent I know of a teenage or preteen son is dealing with this problem. It's the middle of summer. We live in a relatively large community for Wisconsin. Go drive around in the middle of the day. Not a single kid playing outside. Not. A. Single. One.
  22. Its gotta be a package around Phillips and Woodruff OR Ortiz. Toss in a prospect or twi in the 30ish range as lotto tickets and thats it.
  23. Escobar and Dozier for half the price. Villar and some combo of guys like Supak or something like that. Between Dozier and Escobar this year, and Hiura next, we have no need for Villar, IMO, but he is a controllable MI for Minnesota.
  24. I was excited about the prospect of getting Machado, but Im over it at this point. Let the Yankees have him, its where he wants to be anyway.
  25. Go take a look at David Ortiz's career through age 28. Ortiz was released (or non-tendered perhaps?) by Minnesota at AGE 26. AGE 27 .288/.369/.592 31 Hrs 101 RBI in 128 Games and 448 at bats AGE 28 .301/.380/.603 41 HRs 139 RBI in 150 games an 582 at bats
