  1. I know we are all spoiled internet junkies, but please, let this deal happen so I can stop wasting my time checking this board, twitter and mlbtraderumors constantly.
  2. That should dispose of that rumor, however, I could completely see Haudricourt being confused or not understanding something about a team's possession of contracts, so...
  3. When all we had was position prospects all I ever heard was how we would never be able to trade them for young pitching prospects. Now that the cupboard is bare of position prospects all I hear is that even if we offer pitching we could never obtain a good position player. I know we need to be realistic in our ideas of what our players could bring in return be now we are talking about Greinke, Fiers who is pitching fantastically and was the Brewer's minor league pitcher of the year and a young closer who up until a month ago was one of the best in the game for one position player? Is Profar the next Jeter?
  4. I came here to post more or less the same thing. The entirety of the bullpen should not be back next year and I would be okay with them all being gone as of tomorrow. Veras Loe Parra Rodriguez Trade all of them now just for salary relief and call up people from Nashville. They cannot be any worse.
  5. Are there any ACTUAL rumors out there? I keep hearing Garza for Zach Lee, Dempster for Delgado, etc, etc. Are they any legit rumors out there? If Garza, Dempster and Anibal Sanchez are landing the talent they are landing, what does it say about Zach Greinke's market value if all we are talking about is how teams WONT give us decent prospects for him?
  6. Fausto Carmona is actually now Roberto Hernandez and he is 31 years old.
  7. If they win the rest of the games in this stretch (7-2 overall) I will be optimistic again.
  8. Ramirez was added this year to compete with Greinke and Marcum still under contract. Through no fault of his own the Brewers are not competing this year. If we can unload him and his contract, you have to do it, no matter what the return really.
  9. I personally dont see how Upton gets Gallardo from the Brewers. Gallardo is worth far more than Upton has been and Gallardo is still young.
  10. I would figure we would need one power bullpen arm and probably a LOOGY, since I dont see Parra as your typical LOOGY reliever. Any names that anyone would want to throw out there?
  11. We are only about 3-4 games behind some of the teams that we are talking about trading with and only 6 out of the wildcard behind the Pirates. If this team were going to add players at the deadline, where would we add? 1. Bullpen 2. Power bat at 1b 3. SS? If Weeks bounces back in the 2nd half and we add Lucroy and one more bat our offense could be much better. We need another one or two bullpen arms as well. So lets assume we sweep the Marlins (yeah, I know this thread might be short-lived under that assumption) and we come out of the break and do well vs. Pitt, Cin and STL. what do we do before the deadline?
  12. August 26. 2005. Brewers v. Braves. Throw Back the Clock night. Ben Sheets wore a Braves jersey while pitching for the Brewers. In the eight inning of that game Ben Sheets tore his right latissimus dorsi muscle, thereby signaling the beginning of the end. That is some bad mojo for the Braves right there. I blame those jerseys. Still, best of luck to my all time favorite Brewers pitcher, I will be following his starts.
  13. The Brewers need to compete while they have one of the top 3-5 offensive position player in the game in his prime. The number one way to do that is to resign Zack Grienke. If they cannot do that they then need to trade Greinke for MLB ready talent. So if this profar kid is MLB ready, that would fill that hole. Keeping Greinke and taking picks late in the first round or in the 30s is not gpoing to do anything for this team competing in the next 3-4 years in ryan braun's prime.
  14. Greinke and Rogers for Coco Cordero, Laynce Nix and Kevin Mench?
  15. That was a fantastic tweet. Completely brilliant.
  16. The fact that there has been no written decision and another case overturned leads me to believe that Braun is 100% correct. It would do baseball no good which is why they didnt have Das do a report.
  17. Guess I didnt realize that Youk was as washed up as he is. But I dont know that the Brewers would be giving up a lot of value. Weeks blows and is signed for 2 more years. Youk's contract is up this year.
  18. Completely made up speculation by me, but it would solve 1b problem and be a change of scenery trade for both guys. Dont know what Boston would do with Weeks, but dont care. Thoughts?
  19. Can he play shortstop? I mean, defensively?
  20. Berkman is done it sounds like. Too bad,he is a good guy. On the bright side, it evens the playing field re: the loss of Gamel and Gonzalez. Now if only Matt Holliday starts hitting .156 and striking out 1/2 time it would make up or Weeks.
  21. I have bought two used cars in the pat 6 weeks. I bought a carfax package of 5 but only used about 2 before it expired (you have 30 days to use them). I used cars.com, kbb.org and cargurus.com while shopping. I recommend all 3. I found most larger dealerships offered free carfax reports.
  22. I think Milwaukee would be a successful NHL city as well, far more than say Miami or Phoenix (as far as fan support goes) I wanted Pitt v. Nash in the finals. At this point I will take NY/LA just for the extra media attention.
  23. Would the Orioles take a healthy Carlos Gomez for Hardy?
