  1. One would think putting more pucks on infielders would lead to developing MORE catchers…or at least goaltenders.
  2. yeah the other thing might be, why keep the team together at all if you cant compete again until 2023?
  3. They wont have to tank to be a lottery team in 2022 if they are without Giannis. I will happen on it's own. I don't see how they could purposely tank in 2022 though, beyond just being below average, while not blowing up the team to the extent that it wont be much of a team in 2023. But the NBA salary cap is weird, so what do I know.
  4. Re: opting out. By my quick estimation he will have 5 years and 167 million left on the deal? Is that correct? I read an article that said he had 6/199 before this season. If he opts out, is some handing him 35 million over 5 years? That’s what it might take to even equal his salary. Maybe I’m reading this wrong: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.denverpost.com/2021/04/15/nolan-arenado-cardinals-contract/amp/ Arenado had been set to be paid $199 million over the remaining six seasons of a $260 million, eight-year contract he signed with the Rockies: $35 million annually from 2021-24, $32 million in 2025 and $27 million in 2026.
  5. Oh, so Trey Young is going to be this year’s Kawhi Leonard. The guy who just single handedly beats the bucks and they never come up with a solution. This series got messy in a hurry. At least this Bucks team isn’t as good as the 2019 team, so losing to the Hawks won’t feel as bad.
  6. Unfortunately it looks like Keston is good enough to murder AAA pitching without changing anything. I hope whatever he had been working on with Haines can continue down there, because he needs a 100% different approach to face MLB pitching.
  7. I think the Brewers will be more games above .500 on July 1 than they were on June 1. But I think their record will be 14-13
  8. Obviously this is an extreme example of a small sample size, but I am beginning to wonder about Stearn's decision making if Bickford turns into a serviceable relief pitcher. I am not even talking about being an All Star, just someone who can get you an inning in the 6th or 7th and not look like he is lost.
  9. Prop bets. More HRs this year Yelich or Brewers pitching staff Higher K Rate this year - Huira or Brewers pitching staff as hitters. Place your bets.
  10. As some of you know, I was looking to get some junk baseball cards for my boys to rip some packs on their birthdays. I finally found out that despite the shelves being completely empty, that Target had regular run of the mill Topps packs behind the service desk. They allowed me to purchase one pack. As usual, I opted for the cheapest, highest volume pack - which was a box of 11 packs of Topps Opening Day cards, so 77 cards total. Cost me $9.99. I was pleased. I was planning on getting them each another box on their birthdays, which are coming up. But alas, it has been ruined by folks in of all places, Wisconsin. https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/other/target-halts-all-sports-trading-card-sales-at-stores-after-fight-breaks-out/ar-BB1gGf8T?li=BB15ms5q What the heck is going on? I always thought there would be a tree shortage before there would be a baseball card shortage, since the mass produce them so much. I honestly still do not understand why regular run-of-the-mill Topps cards are being hoarded. Is it like toilet paper and gasoline? Just a bunch of people have decided, both collectively but no coordinated that we are going to buy EVERYTHING and then make a huge secondary market? That only works if you are willing to continue to go to the store every Friday and buy out the entire stock...and someone else is doing that too...at every Wal Mart and every Target across the country. I. Don't. Get. It.
  11. Looking for a specific item for an 8 year-old’s birthday. A kids replica away dark blue “Milwaukee” jersey with my child’s last name and number on the back. Fanatics allows you to do this, but only the home cream, which, come on, an 8 year old will spill Kool-aid and chocolate Ice cream on immediately. Where might I be able to find this? Brewers team store at the ball park? Thanks.
  12. Dont worry! No intentions of doing this! Yeah that is what I thought of doing initially, so good to hear that someone else does this. Thanks for letting me know that they service and remove. I just bought a swim raft from them, they delivered it Thursday. Terry was so friendly, customer service was great. Would definitely go back to them. I dont think I would have any issue with putting the cover on each time I leave for the week. Unless it proves to be a giant pain in the butt.
  13. Yes I was being sarcastic about Aguilar and Choi. I would be happy to have either one right now.
  14. What about Jesus Aguilar and Ji Man Choi? Are either of them still around?
  15. Okay thank you all for the advice. The place is on the Chain of Lakes in Waupaca County. I am not even buying a boat trailer, as my boat will live on the chain full time and I plan on having a boat company take it out and service it in the fall, store it in the winter and deliver it back in the spring. So taking the boat in and out really isnt something I was planning on doing. I am on Dake Lake. It is small and pretty protected. The previous owners had both their dock and lift in all winter. I dont really think wind is an issue on this lake, but I will ask the neighbors, plus we already have met a good collection of locals who are on this lake and have been really helpful with answering my questions.
  16. I always wonder about insurance for stuff like this.
  17. Well at least his 60 day DL stint should free up a spot on the 40 man roster. Let’s look at the bright side.
  18. I will defintely do that. I got to thinking about the lift, because while I out on my kayak this weekend, noticed every (or almost everyone) has one, and it occurred to me that the previous owners had one (they took it with them). Then I was talking to a buddy he advised me that since this is a cottage and I wont always be there, you dont want your pontoon getting beaten around by the wind waves and weather while you are gone. That made a lot of sense, so here I am.
  19. I bought a 22 foot pontoon. I also bought a lake cottage on a relatively small lake (35 acres) that is on a larger lake chain. I believe I need a boat lift. However, I have a couple of questions. How much should I expect to pay for a boat lift for a pontoon? Do they install it and put it in? How much should I expect that to cost? Do I have to take it out in the winter (considering the size of the lake)
  20. Is there an eta for either Cain or Yelich? Move them to the 60 if there is no progress #annoyed
  21. I’m sure nobody else will catch it
  22. I’m sure nobody else will catch it
  23. I will reiterate, it’s the type of parents that were the leaders of community leagues in the 80s that have turned it in to big business. Community leagues weren’t enough for that type of parent. They were lured in to academies, AAU teams, travel teams, etc. the flocked away from the communities, leaving many times a discarded unorganized husk of an organization dying for anyone who can coach. My oldest is in high school now. It’s baseball season. I thought it would stop now. It hasn’t, I have parent friends of mine wanting to know about all of the off season hockey things we might be doing. I can’t tell if it’s relief, amazement or confusion when I say I haven’t considered anything like that, it’s baseball season and we don’t want to think about hockey right now.
  24. When I was a kid, in the 80s, baseball cards were my LIFE. from about 1984-1993 it was an obsession. Everyone of those cards is worthless, even the gems I had back then, and I have since given away boxes and boxes of thousands of cards. I’ve kept some, but only a fraction of what I had. I have enjoyed buying my boys a box or two of general wal-mart topps every year when the baseball season starts. I encourage them to play with the cards, bend them, stick them on their wall - don’t do what I did which is put them all behind sheets and stare at them - because baseball cards are worthless relics. Anyway, I go to Walmart and target as their birthdays are coming up, as I like to get them each a box, and the baseball card section in each is CLEANED OUT. I mean nothing. And there is a sign limiting purchases. What the heck? Topps 202- Series 1 baseball cards - a non hobby box - are worthless, are they not? Why the heck is there no supply?
