  1. I’m not sure Granato is the right guy. I was super excited when he came to Madison, and he seems to recruit really well, but there is zero depth and the goaltending and defense have been bad for too long. I really like hockey and mostly badger hockey, but I’m not a hockey guy. I don’t know what the solution is, but I would rather be good year in and year out with mid level nhl potential than have the caufields and turcottes come in, leave right away and even when they are here be a little above decent. Badgers need experience, good role players, etc. but mostly defense and goaltending.
  2. My guess is Yelich was so bad this year that if you wanted to move his entire contract you might have to add Peralta. That’s how big of an albatross this contract has become…and it hasn’t started yet.
  3. I don't see Yelich waiving his NTC to go to NYC. Okay, pretend he doesn’t have a NTC. I was just illustrating what his value is or maybe isn’t? Here is another what if…Yelich MVP 2018, Runner up 2019. Not good 2020, subpar 2021. Do Brewers pick up his 15 million dollar option if there were no extension? The risk is minimal so I say yes just to see if he could find it again. Another year like this and I doubt he would have gotten the FA tender offer.
  4. Pretend for a minute the Yankees have Lewis Brinson. Yelich for Brinson straight up. Who says no?
  5. Brewers should probably not extend guys who are already signed, into their 30s to franchise record deals. It was a surprise when the extension was announced. I wasn’t even thinking about Yelich long term. When does the official extension start next year or 2023?
  6. Chicken or Egg? Some say strikeouts are no worse than any other out, and in fact, sometimes better because the team is not grounding into double play. Counterpoint - Brewers strike out so much that nobody is ever on first base for a prospective double play to happen.
  7. I wish Yelich were not hitting third. 7th maybe. Not third.
  8. I called the Brewers team store this spring and had them do a youth replica road jersey (blue) custom, with my son’s last name on it. They were great, it arrived quickly, and was good quality. It was under $100. I’m sure they could do Adames for you. I would call them.
  9. The offense as a whole is awful. The O Line is bad by Wisconsin standards, and perhaps below average by Top 25 standards.
  10. If they lose tomorrow there is a real chance they don’t win the division. Cards have only Cubs and Brewers rest of the way. They absolutely can win all of those. Brewers take 2 of 3 from Mets and get swept by Dodgers. That’s it. Lose division by a game. Anyone worried? Yes?
  11. Brewers win division. Hot cardinals team wins wild card. Beat dodgers in one game, beat Giants in LDS, face Brewers in NLCS...sound familiar? Puke. Finish them.
  12. The anticipation of the game/disappointment from the game ratio is high on both ends. The defense looks like they could keep the Badgers in and even win most games. The QB play looks just about the opposite. With one conference loss before Labor Day, Bucky looking to take a lot of the hopes of a big year out of the picture early.
  13. I am sure you are being sarcastic, but it can be correct that the Brewers "won" that trade - they did! And that Yelich is a worse player than Brinson for the length of the Yelich extension. The Yelich extension should not be taken into account when considering who won the trade. But if you ask - who would you rather have for the next 4 years? - Yelich at his salary or Brinson at his, we are edging closer and closer to a reality where the answer might be Brinson.
  14. Brent Suter. 20 game winner with sub 3ERA? Is it possible?
  15. Between extending Braun before they needed to, extending Yelich before they needed to, and dodging bullets on the Fielder and to a lesser extent, Sabathia contracts, I hope the Brewers learned something.
  16. Here is another hot take. Yelich's OBP has been his one silver lining. Earlier this decade it was in fashion to bat a "2nd leadoff hitter" 9th and the pitcher 8th. Why not try Yelich in the 9 hole to jump start the offense after one go around?
  17. By definition, my take is also a small sample size so don’t judge.
  18. Maybe the Brewers can give Curtiss the Mike Crudale treatment this off season. He’s hot garbage.
  19. Even if prospect were Turang or Ashby? I guess I dont know why LAD would do this deal, unless they think they could fix Huira and think Bellinger is permenatly broken. Was just thinking about these 4 players today. Brewers do it to dump the Yelich contract, but thats also good reason for LAD to not do it.
  20. After that 3 pitch K today I wondered who that guy wearing number 22 was.
  21. Is story going to cards?
  22. Lotta folks yelling at kids to get off their lawn in this thread. It’s just a team name, it’s creative, it has a city connection, it’s not recycled. Nothing wrong with it at all. Carry on Cleveland.
