  1. "Can't believe that ball left the ball park" ...I'm thinking he's more frustrated that he left a fastball middle-in on a 1-2 count to a hitter who was tracking him really well.
  2. Does that also mean endless IGT posts about this being the worst lineup in MLB history? If Hiura strikes out in his first at bat I plan on suggesting to send him to Appleton. Does the GIDP warrant outrighting him off the roster on top of it?
  3. I was watching in envy. None of us can go to the ballpark but they just mosey on in like it's no big deal, as pigeons are wont to do.
  4. Houser needs to throw up on the mound. He's amazing at pitching afterwards. Numbers support it.
  5. Really sucks. It looked it when they got the glove off.
  6. You don't always see much right when a guy gets hit, but that hand looked bad.
  7. Levering is growing on me. The call forgetting how many outs there were was rough, but otherwise quite good. He’s got crazy movement at 98. He probably should get more of a chance than 1 mistake in his MLB debut, and it wasn’t even that bad of a pitch. Agreed but the likelihood of us discovering a guy nobody else has is extremely low as this season has shown but you are correct. He's also a 29 year old who never made it to AAA with a career MiLB ERA touching 5. He's not going to get much leeway to show he belongs before he's back in indy ball.
  8. Trading a lottery ticket for Mathias, claiming Yardley, signing Phelps, Gyorko, Anderson has been fine. But he'd have to take the L on Lindblom, Narvaez, Smoak, Garcia, Sogard, Morrison, Holt, Healy, Peterson, and the early results of the San Diego trade.
  9. Levering with some terrific C team announcing there
  10. Didn't think they'd add Bickford this year but excited to see it. Hasn't pitched above A+ ball, but his stats from July 9 until the end of the season last year were filthy: 14 G, 26 IP, 0 R, 9 H, 6 BB, 40 K
  11. He's the new K-Rod. Only much easier to root for without the off the field baggage, and without the need for Doug Melvin to trade and re-sign him every couple of months.
  12. Did you check out his legendary day-night splits while you were there?
  13. Pretty big improvement from literally not being able to throw a pitch within a foot of the zone.
  14. I take it this is the first pinch running appearance of Nottingham's life?
  15. Peterson was doing his best Domingo Santana impression on that fly ball.
  16. Seemed to be 1-0 more than not, but he got at least a couple. I remember the first pitch of the game was a strike.
  17. Newman making Hiura look like a better than average defensive second baseman tonight.
  18. It's easier for me with not having a minor league season. I just assume Ray and Taylor aren't better options based on whatever they're doing in Appleton. Compared to last year, when Hiura was raking in AAA while Travis Shaw was up here looking like he had forgotten how to play baseball.
  19. [sarcasm]Go Mudcats![/sarcasm]
