Nottingham is out of options next year so he will have to make the team. So far, he has looked perfectly adequate if he's asked to be the second catcher going forward.
I mean, this sample isn't enough to put him in as the ace of the rotation for years to come. But this isn't the same pitcher who literally pitched himself out of AAA last year.
So is Eric Lauer still struggling to locate his 83 mph fastballs that it's been a month and he's still in Appleton? Maybe ill timing to ask in the midst of all the off days, but he made 52 starts the past two seasons and I haven't heard a peep about re-joining the team. Scorecard on the trade so far is -0.3 WAR for 3.0 WAR.
Apparently Andy Haines told the hitters Turnbull walks a lot of batters, so that means they all need to watch two fastballs over the plate and get down 0-2.

Unfortunate that Mathias got the short end again. But to be honest, if it's between the two RHB with options I am more interested in seeing what Taylor can do.

Needs Gyorko, otherwise ok. I was under the impression that the Smoak DFA meant that Gyorko would be in the lineup most days, not that Peterson would become the everyday first baseman.
