Sounds like Seth McClung all over again. That’s a really good comparison right now. And out of options next year. I'll be shocked if he manages not to be DFA'd, and even more if he also avoids the phantom IL.

Best of luck to them. Barnes just ran out of chances. Hart did well for us, and AAA numbers were skewed on a couple of bad outings. Wouldn't have given up on him.

Encouraging pitching performances all around tonight. Good to see Supak dominate after the home run issues in his first start. Perdomo strikes out five in two innings. He is really throwing well and not giving up a ton of walks lately. Think you have to add him to the roster to keep him around. -
Makes the deadline deals more awkward when you realize 2/3 of your acquisitions are assigned to the minors in exchange for an MLB player and a guy who could be the backup shortstop instead of Travis Shaw.

Moose is this team's best secondbaseman. They are going to have to live with Hiura's bad D. His bat is going to have to carry him. The glove should improve in time, but I am not optimistic about the arm.

Purposely timing pitcher's return from the IL (including two rehab outings) weeks in advance so he returns for this series against the Brewers, hoping some find it triggering due to irrational hatred of the Brewers, vs. The pitcher is ready to come off the IL and re-join the rotation. The manager is a little quirky, enjoys what he does and enjoys the competition against the Brewers -
Another blow up for Nelson: 0.2 IP, 2 ER, 2 H, 2 BB. Hard to watch. They'll have to make some move with him in a few weeks. Zavolas with another quality start: 6.0 IP, 0 ER, 3 H, 1 BB, 8 K. Nothing left to prove in A+ ball, but he's been so effective he's at 129 IP versus 108 combined in college + MiLB last year, so probably doesn't make sense to move him up this year if he's only got a couple starts left.

Wonder if Kelly will be right behind him, or at least heading to Springs. It doesn't appear as though he's being challenged by AZL hitting.

Seems like we'd see Hernan by September. But have to wonder since they optioned Saladino if they really see the incremental value to replace him with Perez (the exact opposite take from a month ago).
