  1. That's interesting. Don't know who he replaces in the current rotation that makes a whole lot of sense. Not a bad move to delay that decision by at least another 10 days.
  2. two games in, and shaw has struck out three times in nine appearances at the plate. one hit. one of his strikeouts was yesterday with the bases loaded and one out. Brutal. Hard to believe he suddenly shows enough life by the end of the weekend to want to activate him. Wonder how long they'll let the rehab assignment run, and if it could end with being optioned.
  3. He must have gotten too content after last night and scaled back the quality coaching today.
  4. Poopy offense. First shutout. Is Castillo considered an ace yet? Hopefully, since we tend to hit them best.
  5. Can Woody play first or right? Maybe take two turns in the rotation as well? He's kind of good at baseball.
  6. Braun didn't chase pitches he couldn't get to, so he had to chase a bag he couldn't get to.
  7. Some golf announcer. I miss Matt already.
  8. Claudio against a right-handed power hitter. Almost like we've seen that before.
  9. Early and often. Nice to see Jesus getting on base much more lately, though the lack of power means it's near impossible to bring him around.
  10. 5/17 5.2 IP / 0 R / 3 H / 1 BB / 8 K 86 pitches, 54 strikes Getting closer.
  11. If that's the case, the guy is going to need to work in high leverage games in San Antonio, because we are trying to get to a World Series here. Agree. High leverage is earned. Coddling can happen in AAA. Send for Taylor Williams.
  12. Burnes storming back into the league lead for home runs allowed. Came in one behind Kyle Freeland, who has nearly twice as many innings and plays in Colorado.
  13. Our offense is plenty capable of getting back 3 runs. But the way Chacin is getting hit up it could have been, and feels about to be about 7-0.
  14. The 11 runs the Brewers have scored is only the 3rd highest total by a team in the 4 afternoon games today. Wei-Chung Thursdays all around?
  15. Would have liked to see Freitas for several reasons. I don't really get trading for Freitas and having him on the 40-man if he's not going to be called up after over-performing at AAA. If his 40 man spot is in question, better to try him out and know whether he's worth keeping around. Burning another option on Nottingham seems unnecessary if there's a good alternative, which there is. Nottingham is still only a young 24, think consistent playing time while healthy is better for him than 10 days where he might not catch two days or get more than a handful of PAs.
  16. Nothing hit particularly hard, and had chances to break the game open with RISP. But far from looking lost - only one strikeout and not chasing out of the zone.
