Not really any flexibility for it to not be Susac. Unless he re-emerges as the next Buster Posey overnight instead of that one guy who happens to be on the 40-man roster we'll have to ride the Pineapple even more for the next few weeks.

I'll always remember being at one of the Angels-Indians games at Miller Park, during a snowstorm that dropped about 7 inches in which plows had to clear individual rows before the line of cars could file in. The Brewers were playing in Miami on a perfect night. The game with two teams that weren't the home team with a snowstorm going on outside had more fans in attendance.

Have Baseball Bob and Freeway ever met? I can't decide if they would be best buds or someone would have to break up the fight.
  4. folly412
Frustrating. A 7 game sample in AAA surrounded by an offense that was piling on runs and Broxton is deemed back on track after 6 weeks of stink. 5 games of starting in MLB and Brinson is benched/about to be optioned.
  5. folly412
Well, I wasn't too far off, just waiting on injury returns to have it. Including all the incidental details
  6. folly412
Keep em both up. With Braun's fragility there are always at-bats to go around. They've both conquered AAA.
  7. folly412
Go with Jungmann. Has the experience and is in rhythm. Last night was Woodruff's longest and first decent outing since returning.
  8. folly412
Might as well call us Milwaukee Brewers FC since 2 is our maximum offensive output lately.
  9. folly412
If the game goes 15 innings we might manage to score a second run. With our bullpen it's unlikely to make it to extras.
  10. folly412
Kind of sad when Hader put together one of the nicer at bats of the night.
  11. folly412
CC with the quick hook, wow. Think it's got to be Jungmann to take a couple of starts, at least until Woodruff is back in rhythm. Anderson will probably be back before then though.
  12. folly412
Suter's been very good. Only 82 pitches to get through 7 is impressive. If the rotation is healthy we're in good shape there; just have to deal with the dumpster fire of a pen.

Those who picked Perez in the "position player to pitch" pool, congrats.
  14. folly412
Can we get Wang up now? We have about five 2014 Wangs on the team now, so the worst case is Wei-Chung Wednesdays return, and I kinda miss those.

Fun (mostly unverified) facts from Twitter... Russ Gardiner‏ @CharlieRGa 5m5 minutes ago Michael Blazek is the first MLB pitcher to allow 6 home runs in 1 game since James Shields on August 7, 2010. Justin Havens‏ @jayhaykid Michael Blazek is the 1st pitcher since George Caster on Sept. 24, 1940 to allow 6 home runs in less than 3 IP. Joe Trezza‏Verified account @JoeTrezz 3m3 minutes ago OMG actually check that. Caster did NOT start that game, making Blazek is the 1st starter in MLB history to allow 6 HR in fewer than 3 IP. Kevin T‏ @KevinTreichel 9m9 minutes ago BREAKING: Michael Blazek named Century 21 Home Run Derby pitcher for 2018 at Nationals Park. Aaron J. Lopez‏ @AaronLopez 3m3 minutes ago If Baseball Almanac is up-to-date, Michael Blazek is 10th player in MLB history to allow at least 6 HRs in a game. #MLB Michael Sweeney‏ @mtsw 7m7 minutes ago Michael Blazek just set an all time MLB record for most HR allowed in an inning. http://www.baseball-almanac.com/recbooks/home_runs_allowed_records.shtml …

Well, it makes me feel good to be better than a major league starter for a day. I could definitely go out there and throw 60 mph junkballs and not give up bombs to 4 in a row and 5 of 6.
  17. folly412
The "Blaze" is coming from that dumpster fire. Yikes.
  18. folly412
He's a waste as a LOOGY. Use Drake (the R-LOOGY) or go get Wang to do that. Eat up 2+ important innings if he's not going to start this year.
  19. folly412
Tom‏ @Haudricourt 42m42 minutes ago Right now, #Brewers list TBA as pitcher for Thursday against Nationals and Suter still on Friday at home against Cubs. If it's tomorrow, Blazek threw 0.1 IP Sunday so could be good to go, Hader 1.2 IP so maybe. Espino pitched Saturday so he's available (cringe). Woodruff 0.2 IP Monday and roughed up badly; possibly needs time to settle back in after the DL stint. If DS and CC are feeling a little too ballsy, Burnes last pitched Saturday. Jungmann threw 6 innings today, so not an option for tomorrow or Saturday.
  20. folly412
Guess the other fragile fellow should have been speculated in addition to Braun. If they move up the rotation, a starter is needed Saturday. If they would hold, Garza was supposed to go tomorrow.
  21. folly412
Haudricourt opining on Twitter: Any chance this is for possible trade partners to see him in action in the show? Tom‏ @Haudricourt 3h3 hours ago No. They are facing a lot of lefties this week so possibly just want another right handed bat Tom‏ @Haudricourt 23m23 minutes ago That doesn’t explain pulling Brinson out of game before first at-bat. Pitching probables have been known for several days. It doesn't make sense because of his injury riddled season--but could Braun be part of trade conversations? Early exit...Brinson pulled? Tom‏ @Haudricourt 9m9 minutes ago I don't think so. We'll find out later today.
  22. folly412
Nice move. Cordell is not needed this season and a dime a dozen in the long-term plan. Swarzak can only help our miserable pen.
  23. folly412
Leave Hader in for 3+. Schedule him to start Saturday. Use the empty 40-man spot on Wang.
  24. folly412
Down 6-1...we might score 6 runs total by the end of the road trip. And Brinson will produce 6 runs himself rotting in AAA.
  25. folly412
Letting Broxton play through being bad is less tolerable in a lineup that's forgotten how to score runs. Brinson has a 13 game hitting streak, and 16 out of 17 games since being sent down. Stick him out there.
