Ahead of his time, Jose Hernandez was a productive player with power at his position, who happened to strike out a lot. The Brewers limited his playing time near the end of 2001 and his All-Star 2002 season, when he compiled 185 and 188 strikeouts, to keep him from breaking Bobby Bonds' all time single season record of 189. His #2 position on that list has since slipped all the way down to 45th and falling every year.
