  1. I hate that we will probably only get about 40 more innings of this for the year. And a chunk of that is probably reserved for the bullpen.
  2. I was about to ask what he was doing in the 5 hole over Turang. Murph wins this squabble.
  3. Logical choice. Will let us know whether Vaughn and/or Bauers are worth tendering next year. There aren't any alternatives standing out that are currently in the organization.
  4. Yeah, not buying into "Holmes is tough on righties" and "Tidwell gets torched by lefties" as good reasons when Durbin is both hitting well and had large reverse splits throughout the minors even if they haven't played out so far at MLB level. If the later is true, sitting Collins while Contreras and Chourio stay in the lineup.
  5. They often do the optioning on the off day if someone is going down, which makes the player eligible to come back up a day earlier and that hasn't happened yet. So that could feed into speculation that it's an IL placement or they're good with Bauers/Yelich as backup outfielders until Perkins is ready and it's a Cameron DFA. Suppose we'll all find out tomorrow.
  6. I want to see him lobbing pitches in with both hands in garbage time. Ideally we are up 15-2.
  7. After the greatness of Wei-Chung Wang, we're all in on the Taiwanese baseball pipeline.
  8. The Turang-Frelick swap that happened the day after someone here suggested it has worked out very well for both.
  9. Either pre-season, when he got called up, or when he looked like a Little Leaguer at the plate, would anyone not have signed up for a .667 OPS and excellent defense at third at this point?
  10. They've both been trending up lately, but I'm still kind of wondering what just happened. Wow!
  11. It feels like there have been many of these puzzling Reds signings over the years when they needed to fully rebuild but for some reason can't help themselves from wasting money.
  12. I would be fine with moving on from Mitchell in favor of better options. But we don't have them. Therefore, keep him until a prospect is ready (none are really close) or a very compelling signing provides an alternative. Right now our alternatives are Cameron and Avans. I'll take Mitchell's upside but injury risk over them if we eventually have one roster spot between the three of them.
  13. AI solved it: The July 25, 2025, game between the Miami Marlins and Milwaukee Brewers at American Family Field in Milwaukee, starting at 3:10 PM local time, is scheduled as a day game to coincide with a special event: "American Family Field's 25th Season Celebration." This promotional event likely influenced the decision to set the game time earlier than a typical Friday night game, which is often scheduled for the evening to accommodate fans' work schedules. Day games on Fridays are less common but can be chosen for such celebrations to enhance the festive atmosphere, possibly including pre-game or post-game activities better suited to daytime hours. Additionally, the Brewers' schedule shows a pattern of occasional afternoon games for promotional events, as seen with other games like the July 12, 2025, game against the Washington Nationals at 3:10 PM for a "1990s Jersey" promotion. While no specific logistical reason (e.g., travel or broadcast conflicts) is explicitly mentioned in available sources, the celebration event is the most likely explanation for the unusual start time.
  14. Great job, Megill! 17/19 is a good clip. Should have consideration to be our All-Star. Koenig needs to get his head out of his butt. Between not covering the bag and throwing a pitch that the play-by-play guy is telling him not to throw. Contreras shared blame on that one as well.
