  1. The Rays truly have an amazing PR team pumping our stories about how brilliant their front office is if there are fans on a Brewers forum suggesting they did not lose that trade by sending out 2021 MVP-candidate Willy Adames for two relief pitchers
  2. The Rays definitely lost the trade though. They sold extremely low on Adames to open a spot for Franco. Can't see how they didn't lose it unless they convert Rasmussen into a SP in the next couple seasons.
  3. Brewers winning, and in other news we are one step closer to my dream of a Jackie Bradley Jr. - Lorenzo Cain - Keon Broxton defensive alignment in OF to close out some tight World Series games.
  4. He was actually decent to start the season but then just fell off a cliff.
  5. Congratulations to the Cincinnati Reds. Huge series for them, gaining -1.0 games in the standings.
  6. The Reds bullpen paradox: the closer the game gets, the higher the incoming reliever's ERA is An unstoppable force meets an unmovable object Or a stoppable force meets a moveable object
  7. An unstoppable force meets an unmovable object
  8. Why did CC take Anderson out early? The Reds have by far the worst platoon split in the major leagues.
  9. We had a massive matchup advantage both of the first 2 games(it's going to be tough not to have an advantage with Woodruff/Burnes on the mound). Today, clearly the Reds have the matchup advantage. I just kinda have a feeling Castellanos is going to hit 2 dingers and ruin the game for us. Here's hoping I'm wrong. Also Gray has looked a bit more human than usual this year so maybe we win one 8-5 or something, I think we need at least 4-5 runs to have a chance today. Unclear that we have a match-up disadvantage. The Reds have the second-worst wRC+ in the NL (third worst in MLB) against LHP this season. I'm expecting to see a lot of weak contact off Anderson.
  10. It's a testament to how spoiled we our with our starting pitching that Woodruff spins a 6.0, 0 ER, 10 K game and everyone is talking about Garcia as the unanimous player of the game
  11. Cain has a very high floor because of his defense, but so sad to remember how much of a joy it was in the olden days (three seasons ago) to watch him be a force at the top of the order.
  12. It seems like we might not have a lot of payroll space given a number of impending arbitration raises. But if payroll were bumped (post World Series win? ) it seems like we could devote almost all of it to making a competitive offer for Kris Bryant to play 3B.
  13. Reyes has been a plus defender at SS/2B this season. Basically replacement level overall. You can do a lot worse.
  14. Ehh, win some, lose some. Can't win the games you don't play, though. Next year Bradley will be Narvaez and Garcia as we are off defending our Wild Card banner and World Series trophy. Wouldn't shock me at all if JBJ has a 5 WAR season in 2022. Disappointing season from him so far, but some of that inconsistency was built into the price.
  15. Hiura in the OF us cringe worthy. Guy needs DH bad. How exactly is Hiura in the OF "cringeworthy"? Based on the one career putout he has in LF? He was actually a decent defensive 1B and I see nothing in his physical skillset suggesting he can't be a decent corner OF. The only reason he was never tried there in the past is they were still hoping he could stick at 2B, and then this season they had a huge hole at 1B. Given his chaotic 2021 season, I'm not sure if Hiura will need more time in AAA to start 2022. Seems clear to me that the problem is he picked up bad habits starting in 2019 because he realized he could basically hit AAA pitching at will (which then actually carried over into MLB for a time). He just needs to refine his approach to cut down on the K's, which I think he is more than capable of with additional seasoning in the minors.
  16. I don't think the Reds roster is that great, to be honest. Luis Castillo is the only player on the team who is not overperforming his talent level.
