  1. You have to be kidding me? Hurt someone? The picture below show where is bat landed! Also, this is the biggest homerun for the franchise in over 20 years. http://sports.cbsimg.net/images/visual/whatshot/USATSI_8861880.jpg
  2. I don't think there is any chance that Collins can stick at catcher, but his bat should play almost anywhere. He isn't my top choice at #5, but if he can transition to 1B, he will move quickly.
  3. 100% agree! The guy has been on base 5 of 6 times tonight. I know he has had a few caught stealings in crucial situations, but I'll take what he has given them this year.
  4. He wasn't safe....https://twitter.com/mlbreplays/status/731690219116732416 Yeah I see that now, still doesn't change my opinion.
  5. And if he's on 2nd with one out he's got two chances to score on a hit. To me it was foolish to risk an out for the chance you get to 3rd. I don't necessarily agree with it, but I don't think it is foolish or have a problem with it. Getting on 3rd creates many more opportunities to score. Especially when the next two guys up are a combined 1-10 (despite hitting 2nd and 3rd in the order).
  6. I guess I don't see the problem w/ this. If Scooter doesn't swing at a pitch that bounced and Villar was safe (which I think he was), then he's on third with 1 out.
  7. ...and don't forget his poor base running. How many times has he made critical base running errors already this season. He is becoming Gomez-esque in that department. Villar has been worth positive runs on the basepaths this year so really, he hasn't been poor on the basepaths.
  8. I waiting for that comment But in all seriousness, I like Perez.. I just wish he would take a walk or two.
  9. I was at Spring Training this year and watched Carter take BP. I believe he hit 12 of 13 out and the other was a line drive that didn't get high enough to go out. It was unbelievably impressive. As you mentioned, doubt he makes the team, but if he does, he would be my bet to win the derby (if gambling was legal of course).
  10. This is a great point. I think he might get the call, but I don't want him splitting time if he does. Although, it still blows my mind they are playing the likes of EYJ over him in CF at Colorado Springs.
  11. Definitely not alone. I am not giving up on the kid, but he needs some time in AAA to get some confidence back. I think we could see Michael Reed by the time the Crew hits Pittsburgh.
  12. What is crazy to think is that in 2011, Wolf threw 40 more innings and had a better overall ERA thank Grienke. Obviously Grienke's peripherals were better, but I found that hard to believe. They were both pretty awful in the postseason, but Wolf did have the one dominant start against the Cards as well.
  13. That is a pretty cool graphic and makes one think he will be fine in a more spacious field. However, his SLG was over 200 points higher at home last year than on the road. While he did hit 11 of his 27 HR's on the road, he literally only had two additional extra base hits outside of Miller Park.
  14. I live in Madison and do not have cable. However, if I used my buddy's login information for Charter, could I purchase the MLB package and be able to stream Brewer games with this new settlement? I was a little unsure on that.
  15. I think this is exactly the type of guy the Brewers need to be going after. Jungman and/or Davies can start in AAA, until someone inevitably gets hurt or if Latos/Garza stink up the joint. I will also say, the Cubs signed a journeyman pitcher coming off a 5+ ERA and turned him into Arietta and Strop. I fully realize Latos probably will not turn it around and even if he does, the Crew will never hit the jackpot like that. However, they may be able to flip him for a controllable player that has upside.
  16. Your lack of knowledge -- but more notably your disinterest in acquiring any knowledge -- on the players added in the trades this offseason is a bit much. Your opinion on any of them is basically empty. You were around & very actively posting all during the developmental build up to contention & then MLB contention in the late 2000s-early 2010. But it's like you can't even remember that that's how the Brewers built their best squad since the glory days of the 80s. I'm sure this post will do absolutely nothing to influence your opinion, & strangely will actually probably embolden it even more. But it's really, really tiring to read post after post from you knocking trades when you do zero homework & frankly seem to take a smug pride in not being able to be bothered because you've seen it all before & don't need to learn anything. I get that it genuinely matters a lot to you if the 2016 team wins 78 games compared to 59, & I don't find your frustration there irritating at all -- to each his own. But enough of the self-righteous rants about young players that you've never seen or even bothered to try to learn a little about. ^^^ This Rogers had an .818 OPS as a 25 year old in AA while Broxton had .795 OPS splitting time between AA and AAA in his age 25 season. One plays passable defense at first while the other can supposedly go get it in CF. Throw in a lottery ticket with Supak and I think this is a very nice return.
  17. No, he was on the MLB roster when he was injured so he collects MLB service time while on the DL. Wheeler was the 11th ranked prospect by BA overall to start 2013. Now, you can knock him down to say 25 or 30 based on the injury and already accumulated service time and Flores was a top 60ish prospect at one point. Like I said before, I would've preferred a pitching prospect like Molina to Flores but it's not like Flores lacks talent. Everyone was saying we needed a top 20ish and top 50ish prospect for Gomez and that's basically what we got. ^^^ This is exactly how I feel. Would have preferred a prospect, but we got two guys who once ranked in top 60 of all MLB prospects. We got them for 8 total years of control versus 1.3 years of Gomez. Flores had an OPS of nearly .900 as a 20 year old in Double A.
  18. I think this is going to be pretty interesting to watch. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mlb-big-league-stew/athletics-call-up-switch-pitcher-pat-venditte-from-triple-a-151913411.html
  19. I know Dave Cameron seems like a Brewer hater and isn't right very often, but he sure seems to think they could get a truck-ton for Luc. Throws out Swihart, Correa, and Seager. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/the-case-for-trading-jonathan-lucroy/
  20. Tried that. I hope not. The other channels we don't get ask me if I want to upgrade when I go to them but MLB Network doesn't. If I call and make a big enough scene will they just give it to me for free? I literally just signed up for Charter three weeks ago. I called them to let them know how upset I was and they didn't seem to care. I said I would be cancelling and they actually said "Well you just signed up and paid for the installation fee". If you call, I would be curious to see if you get any better treatment than I did.
  21. I believe this is the article you were looking for. I remember it coming out right after LBJ signed back with the Cavs. http://elitedaily.com/sports/this-what-nba-would-look-like-if-every-star-went-home-like-lebron-james-photos/663531/
  22. What people seem to forget is that Grienke had the fourth highest ERA among the starting pitchers that year. The immortal Randy Wolf had a lower ERA. Grienke's ERA in the playoffs approached 7. I think the Brewers still make the playoffs without him, but the mindset definitely changed after the ZG and Marcum trades.
  23. I don't mind pitching JJ here, because I really don' t think KRod is good. BUT once again we are saving our closer for a hypothetical save situation. I can not comprehend how a team thinks throwing a lesser reliever in a tie game is smarter than throwing them in a game where you are up 1, 2, or even 3 runs.
  24. This! Right now, Segura is not a MLB caliber player. Melvin has 5 days to find a SS. I know there won't be much out there, but at this point, anything is better.
